Oh, Rayray, please forgive me. I forgot to thank you for the thrill of the season. Honestly, there's no greater fun that to splash a bit of Green Chatreuse in my champers and watch the bubbles metamorphose into flying sparkling good fairies with flasing tiaras and short miniskirts. All they need now are shiny thigh high boots.

Rayray - See my post on Jamies Page - regarding Ethanol (Corn). the government is paying them to plant more and more - each year to become energy efficent & independent. LOL There is not enough land in the US to grow enough corn to do that - and all the trees would have to be cut down - including the OLD GROWTH FORESTS. Who are they kidding?

Hi Rayray,
Your poems have brought a smile to my face and a tear to my eye, sometimes at the same time if they are really funny.
Have a wonderful Christmas and all the best in the New Year!

Rayray my horses were "given" to me by Miztricia when I first joined and didn't know what was what, I didn't know what an avatar was! I think yours is just magic. It is true, your creative verse has done just what Rena says. If you lived in Sudokuland you could leave the harridan and her daughter behind. Hope the Christmas feasting with your friends is merry and happy. All the best for the New Year too, keep those creative genes well fed and active. TTFN

Ray ... I just checked the comments under the picture of the poem. There are 11 comments there. Here is a copy of mine.
Ray ... I enjoyed your poem. Even though I don't drink anymore, I remember those days....some of them fond memories.
One of my favorite songs is "Trip around the sun" by Jimmy Buffett and Martina McBride. Here is the link ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BaKqwvGa6Bw. It is about birthdays, but could easily be about the calander New Year.

I can’t find your page to wish you a Happy New Year, so I need to do that here now.
Thanks for you concern about the problem with posting the Poem in General Chat.
After you all diagnosed what was wrong I posted it on 28th December (p.3) by using ‘o-hat’) i.e. ‘ ô ’, which worked.

And Happy New Year to you. Do you happen to remember the date of your poem about the shepherd going out into the snow, looking for a lost lamb? I'd like to find it again. Thanks in advance, Ian.

You found that book! Me too. No he is a different Mr Raymond W Groves. He is not a Rayray I don't think. I believe his middle name was "William" but I am not sure. The name is a great co-incidence. I say "was" because he died recently. I obtained his book a couple of years ago to compare his poems with those in my own drafted volume. His poems are interesting, enjoyable, and a good read, but are quite different from my own. He was born in Wisconsin in USA and appears to have been a pillar of society. From his photo I'd say he was a jolly kind of guy.

Hi, Rayray!

Hope you saw Kathy of Valrico's message yesterday. It was she who send you the stuffed animal - not CP. I assume CP sent you something else, but perhaps she also send you a lambkin. Who knows????

Also, watch your post for a belated Christmas card from me (with a little something tucked inside - if it gets through the postal system intact, that is!) I mailed it yesterday.

About 6 years ago, I started doing stuff about global warming with one of my courses. Two years ago we turned it into a major project for that course across all their subject areas (English, Science, Maths, Humanities and Computing. I remember how hard it was when I started to find information about the topic. Now it mentioned almost daily on the news. It seems all bizarre weather patterns are blamed on global warming, and the patterns are certainly strange at the moment if I read the postings on sudokuland correctly. What do you think - are we overstating it?

Martha:
I don't think we are understating the problem of global warming. However my opinion is that the primary cause is a peak in a high-order solar cycle with a 1000y period. Greenhouse gases are not helping, but may be of secondary importance, unless they tip a delicate balance in the natural cycle. I believe that much of the observed increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide is release from oceanic reservoirs with rising global temperature. Thus many people, including Al Gore, have cause and effect the wrong way round). (I have added a bracket for you to use!)

Rayray, I read that you were a biology teacher for many years... I am one prac away from finishing my DipEd in high school science. As I haven't studied biology since I was 16 (boy is that a long time!!) I'll be taking the chemistry/physics route myself....

Hi Rayray, I sent a reply to your private message. Did you get it? I don't know what to tell you other than I too have that problem with my flashdrive with the computer at school but not with home computer. I do plan to go to a electronic shop because I need cables to make my cell phone communicate with my computer so while I'm there do you want me to get a different brand? I thought Memorex would offer the least problem because it's the most well known but look at you. Maybe another might work. Let me know.
