André- Thanks for asking. I think getting to know the people of our twin city was the best of the best, but my favorite thing we did was going to the smaller town Octoberfest in Weiler. The Munich Octoberfest was very impressive earlier in the day, but the local Bavarian Octoberfest was so much more fun! We were dancing on the tables with 'good friends that we'd just met'...(actually it was the chairs we danced on) !
The sight we will never forget was the Alps from the Bernina-Express train through Switzerland. Then again, Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria was beautiful in a fantastic location! And what can I say... crazy King Ludwig II liked swans and there were plenty to see in the castle!
By the way, I love your doorway on the top of your page! Where is it?

Hi André! No worries, my younger son, Yuji, is presently in Yuma, Arizona, my neighboring state, training for deployment to Afghanistan. It's a miserably hot desert. Thank you for asking!
The language you used above is it a Celtic language? Gaelic? Welch? Breton? Manx? Cornish? I love listening to Irish Gaelic music.

Hi André ,,, Thanks for dropping by. I always get chills when I look at that video. The world should be like that. I have seen Kenny Rogers a couple times in person. What a wonderful singer.
We have had a great summer and are getting ready to head south for the winter. We leave next week.
Take care, Dave

Hi! If you like instrumental music, try John Doan. He plays a 12 string guitar with a relaxing effect. Or if you like soft melodic singing, the Celtic Woman is great. Four Irish lassies who sing soprano and one who is a fantastic violinist or should I say fiddler? She was a part of River dance group. I don't understand the Irish Gaelic that they sing but I love the music!

Hi André
Janet finished her bus tour on Sunday and loved every minute of it. She is sorry they are now not going back to Sorrento which was her favourite. Spoke to her last night our time and she was on the train from Rome to Cortona in Tuscany where they have rented a villa for a week. Seems to be starting to get a bit chilly but they are in the mountains there. Perhaps it will warm up a bit when they get back to the coast at La Spezia. I used the last shirt she ironed today for work. I've washed all the others but will have to start ironing now.
I haven't poisoned the cats yet, so I suppose that's a bonus.
Hope you are going well.
David.

Thanks for stating your appreciation of my poem and poetic prose posted today. In writing them 'I am very hard on myself' and I appreciate your 'soft appreciation' (conforming to your own current 'thought for the day'). I always appreciate your regular thought contributions.

Andre, I have been posting sporadically, and have missed being around with timely birthday wishes...but I know you had a great day in spite of my failure to send out the good words...see how important I am....not. Glad all went well, and my thoughts are still well meant even though very late...so I lift a glass in honor of your joy on your special day. Happy Birthday....Peace.

Hi Andre, Thanks for the birthday wishes. I see that I missed your birthday too. I've been an irregular Sudoku visitor and commenter of late. I've had a busy week but have at least been sleeping at home. even if it means leaving home at day break 6.15am to drive out to a little school just under 2 hours away. Ah the life of a trouble shooter! Hope all is well with you and that the crisp Autumn days are suiting you well.

Andre;
Thanks very much for expressing, on my Page, your appreciation of my poems. The encouragement is worth a million dollars - but I'm afraid I can't pay you as I am almost broke !!
I wrote my first poem of any worth when I was about 23 years old (about a cuckoo), but I only started to take it seriously in 1984 when I was teaching English in Japan. Since then I have written about 200 poems (that are any good). Yes! I dream of publishing a nicely presented selection and have painstakingly prepared draft copies of such volumes. However I have no clue as to how to go about having them published. Increasingly these days you need to be an established celebrity - perhaps even with a ghost writer - to market a book. Most people I know who have published stuff in UK have lost money. There's another poem in the pipe-line that will probably be my best ever. I'll post it on Sudokuland when it is finished. However presentation is also important and, unless I prepare a panel on My Page, something is lost in a post. That was especially true with "Which Witch is Witchiest" that I posted on 25th.

May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
And the rains fall soft upon your fields,
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

I love your 'peeking through' image. It reminds me of a cottage where one of my Aunts used to live - the entrance; the privacy; the courtyard and its cobblestones. Lovely picture.

Maybe the reason why you think my poem about the witch and the ghost resembles Keat's St Agnes' Eve is beacuse the background atmosphere is similar - almost creepy . I cannot comment on 'the plot' because I have not read that long poem by Keats. Maybe I should. To me it seems very complex and classical.

HI there andré, Sorry to take my tiem getting back to you. I have been donig quite a bit of travelling of late and it's not over yet! Off to the middle of Arnhem land on Monday. Yes I am a travelling teacher. I work with indigenouse children. They have a daily teacher and I go in as extra support to teachers and children.

How about you? What do you get up to ... apart from wonderful quotes and masses of chocolate :) I'm sure that if i took the time to fully read posts all the time I would be up with this but really have spurts from tikme to time on Sudoku and apart from that my attendance on site is rather flkeeting these days. :) Just uploaded a couple more photos - I guess they'll take 6 months to come up. :)

Hi Andre, I hope you are well. I've missed seeing you on Easy and just wanted to let you know that you've been missed.
I know it's early but in case I don't have time later, I want to wish you and your family a very happy Christmas and a joyful New Year.
As usual, I will be heading to the beach for 2 weeks over Christmas and New Year. I love the relaxation - the walks on the beach, swims, afternoon naps and just generaly taking life easy (and that includes Christmas day as well).
Best wishes and hope to see you soon.

André, do you want a voice file or an audio file? ie do you want to record your own, (or someone else's voice), or just put an mp3 song on u tube?

To upload to u tube you will need to have an account.

Ok, first of all, depending on the length of the recording you want to make, (and I am assuming you have a microphone), Windows has a nice little built in sound recorder that will record a minute of audio. If you want more, the I use a freeware program called "Audacity", available from a multitude of sites....just google it. It allows recording of audio and saving in .wav or .mp3.

From there, I think you can upload to youtube if you have an account. I haven't, so I am not 100% sure on that bit. In fact I might even try it for myself.

Hope it helps. Give me a yell if you need anything further.

Cheers
