Back at Christmas time I posted the news that grandson Chase was going to become a big brother in July.  I am happy to announce that his baby sister Maddox Ann Martin was born at 6:09 P.M. on July 27, 2015.  She weighed 9 pounds and measured 21 1/4 inches long.  We are thrilled to have a third granddaughter (the others are 19 and 16!) and six grandsons and feel very blessed.

I've dropped in to your place to let you know that; based on my albeit failing memory that it was you who posted it; your recipe for apple and pineapple oatmeal crumble is simply marvellous. I have cooked it twice and everybody loves it. The second time I added (naughty) a rather large dollop of honey to the already sticky (in for a cent in for a dollar), oatmeal and banana 'pastry' (making it even stickier and more disgusting to handle than ever, with my digital pulverisers - it's like making mud-pies!). Next, after developing the oatmeal mix to behave consistently like firm and leak-proof pastry, I intend to make individual flans. Yummeeeee!

Thank you, Kathy for the birthday wishes. The flower the bee's on is lavender, it has little flowers on the main part & long petals at the top.

for the welcome! I can tell by how many messages on your page that you are indeed an "old' member. I observed for a long time before becoming a member.
I hate to mention this, but I attended MSU in the 60's, but I live very near that blue & maize place you mentioned! (One of my sons & my daughter-in-law got their degrees there. Does that help your opinion of me?)

In you pointing out that it was Angie (Wisconsin), who posted the recipe for the crumble, which has delighted my guests, you also reminded me that you have sent me a package in the post. I sadly need to confirm that your item was never delivered - in contrast to the posted items I did receive from Jane and CP. Sorry to report that. I wonder what it was, and why it never got here? WQill you enquire at the PO where you posted it?

Thanks for your birthday wishes, Kathy! You don't have to rhyme to impress me ... being a fellow Wolverine is good enough! Just remember, Miss Smarty Pants, you are only a few months behind me ... and I'm gonna get you GOOD! XO

Kathy, please forgive my delay in responding to your kind message. We ran into a huge bunch of stuff happening here and I got away from my Sudokuing and emailing. Thank you for your kind words.

Hi, Kathy! We met at the Land of Medicine Buddhas near Santa Cruz, California. It's close to San Francisco. Keith and I were fortunate to be able to attend a meditation class that Dino gave. She was the guest instructor. If ever you get a chance to attend one of her classes, TAKE IT! She is so fantastic and extremely educated!!! I won't say more because she is a private person. Just meet her and find out for yourself.

forgot to mention that what I'm wearing is a hapa jacket. It's sort of a half of a kimono. Depending on the material, it can be very warm and comfy to sheer and dressy over a blouse and pants. I made mine so it has longer sleeve than usual. Very simple and easy to make!

Hi Kathy, my father was in the RAAF & that's his ceremonial sword. I was the first one to use it "unofficially"!! Since then it's been used for family Weddings, 21st,50th,60th,70th,80th & 90th birthdays, & Mum & Dad's 40th & 50th Wedding Anniversaries! My kids are 33 & 27! It's my daughter whose been featuring on sudoku. I was going to do some of my son too, but these ones have been going around so often that I already feel I'm hogging the limelight!

PS. My wedding was in Wagga Wagga which in those days was about a 6hr drive from Sydney, now it's ~ 5-5&1/2 with better roads. The 21st was at an Aunt's home in Sydney because at that time I was training to be a nurse in Sydney.

Hi Kathy. Yes I finished my training, then did midwifery training a couple of years after that. I worked in a lot of different hospitals around Sydney. Then in the early 80's I trained to become an ultrasonograher & did ultrasounds of lots of different bits of people's anatomy (as well as pregnancies) for about 18yrs. The answer to the other questions is yes!

Hi Kathy, thank you for visiting my page. Yes Kate and I are sisters. I found this site in 2005, as well, but didn't become a member till last year. I told Kate about the jigsaws and she was very interested and so she became a member before me. I don't take many photos (always seem to forget to take the camera.) I am not in Kate's league.

Hi Kathy, thanks for visiting. Reese and Ebony are gorgeous!!! I bet Reese is a bundle of energy and that you and your husband have your hands full when puppysitting!
Those children in India were not sad or unhappy, it was just that when a camera was produced, they did that sad pose - Bollywood I guess. My daughter and her husband have been in Dubai for 2 years and my daughter would return home tomorrow if she could, but she understands how important it is for her husband's career (he is an architect). The money they both earn there will set them up comfortably when they return home in a year or so. It's a very different lifestyle there, I hope Jano's son has an enjoyable time.

Hi, Kathy! A huge thank you to you and Rob for the outstanding lunar eclipse photos. Well done! What kind of camera does Rob use? Those photos look professionally done, and show the eclipse far better than what I saw when I looked out the window! Thank you, thank you!

Hi Kathy, you asked about my daughter. The one in the helicopter photo is 13. She is a late bloomer so looks alot younger than her age. All her classmates are talking boys, puberty and dissention. She is still delightful. Her 2 older sisters stayed sweet through that yucky period so I'm hoping she will too. I put a photo of my 17 yr old but it was so big only 1/4 could be seen on the screen at a time. When I've learnt to mac-friendly condense the images it will go back on.

Kathy, I am sure that you inadvertently mis-directed that message to me. As much as I appreciate the sentiment, I can't for the life of me figure who this 'Wag' character is. No doubt that person would really like to receive your compliments. As far as Judy is concerned. Once I got the machinery in motion to hornswaggle her into joining, I washed my hand of the entire affair. Judy is on her own. I only hope this "Wag" person is up to the task of dealing with her. We'll see, but I have my doubts. She is formidable. I'll keep an eye on things and if it appears that "Wag" is in over his/her head, I may step in and lend assistance.

Kathy, sorry I was so long to answer, but I've been very busy cooking (and eating) my son Nicolas's 31st birthday. He is a bachelor and leaving with us when he's got no job, as well as his 27-year-old sister, and that happens unfortunately very often. Only my eldest son Eric, 34, has got children and I can enjoy them for every school holidays since the other grandmother isn't interested though she's living quite near! They live about 300km from here and we try to see them once a month, which isn't so easy because my husband is still working. I'll couldn't have them during school holidays before before I was a teacher and the holidays dates weren't the same (I retired last July). Eléa is a 7-year-old nice and clever girl, her brother Antoine will be 3 next August who'sjust discovered the pleasure of leaving his mother! If I was able to do it, I'd send send wonderful pictures I've taken but I'm so bad at that!
Hope you have as a nice time in April (I'll have them the last fortnight)as I will probably have, even if I need a week after to recover.

Hello Kathy - I'm just trying to catch up on some long overdue visits and say thanks for visiting my page occasionally and your lovely birthday wishes. I feel very guilty for not having responded to people sooner but you know what it's like when you have family staying for a long time, all good intentions go out the window. You seem to be used to spending a lot of time with your family but I don't have them stay here at all very often.
I hope all is well with your and your family.

So far, so good, on the kitchen reno, Kathy, but then again, we're only into our fourth hour! We worked with an interior designer, and she's doing the site management, coordinating all the tradespeople, and handling any problems that may arise. Our friends used the same designer and we thought their kitchen turned out beautifully. Hopefully we won't have any disasters or unforeseen expenses. These renos, as you know, don't come cheap! I'll keep you posted. Have a great week, and Happy Easter to you and those you love!

Hi Kathy,
Thank you so much for being the first to welcome me to Sudokuland. Actually, I have been enjoying this site for many years. Last night I wanted to leave a comment on the jigsaw page, and I had to sign up for my own page. I so enjoy reading all of the comments from all over the world, and, of course, the sudokus and jigsaws. My niece went to U of M, so I have a special place in my heart for the Wolverines, but I can't play favorites. My other niece's husband went to Michigan State. I just keep my mouth shut when U of M plays MSU. Again, thanks for the welcome. I will watch for your comments in Sudokuland. Margot

Hey Kathy! I'm always up for a good joke (did you need me to tell you that?) but can't give out my e-mail. Did that once with someone else and it didn't work out well ... nuts! Would people object to it being posted on the jokes page? Meanwhile, here's wishing you and those you love a very Happy Easter!

Hello Kathy - just a quick note before I head off to bed. My daughter and grandson who have been staying with me, left this morning for Perth to pick up her husband from the airport. I won't see them again until Monday, so no, I'll have Easter by myself. In a way it will be nice to have a rest this weekend with no-one else in the house.
I hope you, Rob and your family have a lovely Easter.
