Back at Christmas time I posted the news that grandson Chase was going to become a big brother in July.  I am happy to announce that his baby sister Maddox Ann Martin was born at 6:09 P.M. on July 27, 2015.  She weighed 9 pounds and measured 21 1/4 inches long.  We are thrilled to have a third granddaughter (the others are 19 and 16!) and six grandsons and feel very blessed.

Hi, Kathy! I am trying to post pics from the last year or so. I took the photo of the Anhinga in November 2006. Anhingas are quite common birds here in South Florida, and I have seen them as far north as Orlando. I read that they are tropical birds, found throughout the Caribbean, Central, and South America, wherever there is swamp for them to swim and fish in. They hunt while swimming, and are in the same family of birds as cormorants. Only Females have the cream-colored neck, the males are all dark. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anhinga

Thank you so much for stopping by.
Graduation was wonderful and I did not fall while walking across the stage--which was a big fear of mine.
Mike and the girl are my biggest supporters and without them I would not have been able to accomplish this huge event. Though the girl did not come until the end, she was a big reason for me to keep on going.
Now all I have to do is figure out what to do with this very expensive degree.

Hi Kathy', Thanks for dropping in. I'm an ex-tennis player regrettably as shoulder problems forced me to give up the game. There are quite a number of both indoor and outdoor courts here, although it's a bit cold at present to play outside.
I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas and best wishes for 2008.

Good Morning, Kathy! - It is always good to hear from you! We are trying to plan a trip to Florida in January. My mom has been back in the hospital and I would like to see my parents again. If we do come and you are home, I would like to make plans to meet you. We are thinking about driving. Rick was concerned about roads, but being retired, we don't have to be in a hurry to get any where! He isn't fond about flying. He likes his feet on the ground! I will keep you informed as our plans transpire!

Rick has been busy "fixing up" a car for Jenny. She wrecked her car several weeks ago, so we are back to driving her everywhere. (She was okay.) Her classes finished this week, so that helps. She doesn't go back until January. We have to get her back on the road before we can leave town!

Yes, we have snow! 8.9 inches fell here yesterday. We still had snow from Thanksgiving. We live in the woods, so it is cooler around our house and we just hang on to it. We have another storm on the horizon for next week-end.

You have a very nice looking grandson. He looks like he is having fun.

Kathy, I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas! Maybe I will finally get to meet you in the New Year!

Hi Kathy,

Thanks for your comments! Today's cookies are chocolate chip, tomorrow's will be spritz decorated with colored sugar and candied cherries. Later, we'll do soft cherry and chocolate cookies (they'll clog your arteries just looking at them, but boy are they good to eat!) The hard part is giving them all away for Christmas.

Merry Christmas to you & yours!

Hi Kathy. Thanks for stopping by place. I'll be glad to send you all the snow that falls in our driveway! I do not like winter at all - I have SAD and should be using my light box but who has time to sit by a light? Guess I could use it while I'm doing sudoku puzzle.....gotta go do my Christmas stuff before it's too late. Where is Valrico? My folks live in Venice near Gulf coast.

I've known Chudleigh for several years. My ol' pop used to send those cards to me for just about every occasion. When I opened your card, it kinda tripped me up for a second. Tell Ebony thank you for me with an extra milk bone and a real good ear rub. Merry Christmas to all of you.

We never had a lab, but we were always dog people. Mom and dad kept a dog until their last move. When I married, it was to a cat person so....

I believe what I brought was a 15 year old Aberlour. I have several singles in my cabinet. If he is not familiar with much more than Glenlivet then he might enjoy some of the others. Each one has its own characteristic. I enjoy Oban, Balvenie, Dalmore, Knockando and of course Aberlour. But what one person enjoys might not suit another though I've never tasted one I didn't like in some way. You shouldn't have any trouble finding it and probably not too expensive for you. Out here in Carry Nation country, its always a little more costly what with the 'sin' tax and all.

I hope he likes The Balvenie. We had a house full of bedlam for two days. No little short relatives yet though. #1 son gave me a bottle of Glenmorangie that we had to sample just before bedtime. I've been referring to Jim Murray's Whisky Bible for a while. It reinforced some opinions and dashed a couple of prejudices.
