The other day when I saw Schultz yawning, a smile went over my face - a beautiful & happy dog. I just gave my Tipper (14 yr - 4 mo old) a big hug with tears in my eyes. I am so glad you were with him with all your love that he so well deserved. Our dogs give us so much love and add so much to our lives with their innocents. My sincere condolences.

Dear Kate,

I am so sorry you've lost your beloved Schultz. They really are family members, aren't they? Please accept my sincerest condolences on your loss, and may your happy memories of Schultz eventually replace the grief you feel today.

Kate, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. Know that we care and are thinking of you at this most difficult time. When my mom passed away someone told me to look for signs that she is with me--a rainbow on Christmas Day was one that we all took comfort in. It really helped me, and I hope it will do the same for you.

We lost our Simon (also a stray that wandered into our yard and became our "dog of a lifetime") a few months ago, and are still grieving ourselves. I keep telling myself that all the fun and love along the way justifies the pain at the end, but it's still hard.

Kate, so sorry to hear about Schultz.A pet becomes so much part of your life. Think of all that you both meant to each other and how lucky you were to find one another. Yhanks to you he had a wonderful life and now he has gone to 'Doggy Heaven'. You will miss him but he will always be your 'Special Schultz'.

And we must get together for a coffee soon!

Kate, it is so hard when we can no longer put our arms around the people and animals we love. Schultz was fortunate to have spent most of his life with you. May your memories soften your grief.

My dearest Kate, sometimes losing our furry friends is just as hard as our family members.
Schultz will always be remembered, especially by those of us from the jigsaw site. He gave us many happy times watching his antics.
My heart goes out to you.
Till you meet again over the Rainbow Bridge.

Oh Kate...
There are very few words to express how I feel to know the pain and grief you are suffering right now. It has awakened in me memories and grief for the beloved friends that are awaiting me on the other side. Schultz.

Hello Kate, and I am so sorry. I am sitting here (at work) with tears running down my face. You have made our dear Schultz part of all our lives. It is lovely to know that you were able to give him the comfort at the end, that he had always given you. Hopefully our thoughts will bring a little comfort to you and Blake and Leia, until memories fill in the gap that will be left in your lives. Take care Kate ♥

Sorry to hear of Schultz's passing. We plant a tree every time one of our beloved pets passes - our bakcyard is now full of lovely trees - each one of them with our pet's name to remind us how lucky we have been to have shared their time.

Kate,
I am sorry to hear of your pain. I know it too well myself, and I do actually dread that day in the future with my Max- it may seem weird to some, but I would rather go before he does. I hope I do.
I am also experiencing the pain of the loss of my brother at this time, its his birthday this month, and there's alot to his passing that goes with my pain, but i'll save that for another day should we get to visit.

I'll keep you in my prayers, and just want you to know, I have a buddy named Hardy thats with your shultz now, that was just as devastating to my heart as was my brothers death.

may you be comforted and lifted up- I hope one day some bright eyes and warm fur can lift your spirits again, even if just from a friend.

It took me a few years after Hardy, and suddenly I was ready for my Max- I don't know honestly what i'd do without him, he's even helped my marriage...

sending love and prayers-

marylinn

Kate - I remember the feeling so well. Have lost a few of my pet family and still feel the twinge when I think of them. I don't have human children, so my animal family is everything to me. I mostly remember waking in the morning with the exact opposite feeling of waking from a bad dream...head clearing and remembering that the worst is true. Indeed the sadness takes it's time moving on. Hugs to you my friend.

Kate, please forgive my being so late in extending my sympathy on the death of your dear four legged friend Schultz. I know how empty your house & heart feel without him. I hope that by now you have run out of tears & have slowly begun to recover from your sorrow. Eventually I hope you will consider bringing some other lucky dog home to live with you & be your NEW friend. We grieved over our dear little Munchkin in Jan. 2007 (were you on the site then?), but in May my friend convinced me it was time another dog to love. We were SO lucky to find our wonderful Ebony at a Pet Adoption Expo, & she is such a welcome addition to our family. I hope that will happen for you someday, too. Meanwhile I'm sending a big cyber hug & hoping that love & condolences from your Sudoku family can help comfort you just a little.

Kate, have been thinking of you and hope you are coping alright. I know when Scrap passed away, I would go outside and do my normal chores and look around expecting him to be there, or I would see a flash of ginger out of the corner of my eye and think he was there. I like to think it was him.

Kate - What a wonderful surprise to see Schultz and his birthday cake on yesterday's "hard" puzzle! So like Sandy - the beautiful, lustrous dark eyes, the white face, full of dignity! I put two new photos of her into my gallery the other day (had some success with Adobe PhotoShop - it normally drives me up the wall - to make available light photos of my pup look good). Our newest health issue is Lyme's disease - she can't tolerate the antibiotic pills, and I would rather she live in comfort than be sick from meds, but she is back to eating again, although picky, and still takes walks around the circle with me. We lost electricity this a.m. (terrific winds today) and I started a fire in the basement woodstove to try to keep her tolerably warm, but she is o.k., thank goodness, and doesn't seem any more creaky than normal - good thing today is relatively warm (ca. 11C) and sunny.

Hi Kate - Thanks for correcting me. I do mostly jigsaws and I've done lots of yours of the "year of the Rat" Chinese New Year parade. They were terrific. I mistook Kate/Sydney for Kate from Sydney - the user id tag - I just didn't get it.

I can now identify the Harbor bridge without a tag. As for plants, many of your plants have made their way to our dry, semi-arid climate, esp.the eucalyptus and acacia. I'm learning about a whole new community, which is fun & interesting.

Take care. janie

Dear Kate, I am suffering with very early morning night mares, from my little girl. The ones with glass shattering screams.

You said there is 3 hours between nap and bed time. I am a 100% believer that children need plenty of rest. Not by my choice, I had to shorten the girls nap time. She would get up from her nap between 4:30 and 5. But then turn around and have bed time at 8:30. Even though it was good for me, was not working for the girl. So now the girl is up by 4 and out the door to the great outdoors. You are/were having a little bit of heat problem over there, so I would not suggest hard play and to stay in the shade. Just being outside helps with sleep.
Good luck.

Kate, thank you for your message about Sandy. I did hope she would enjoy some spring weather, and was completely unprepared for such a rapid decline in her health - I'm still trying to accept the fact that she is no longer with me. She danced and begged for crackers just two days before that last trip to the vets, she followed me around the house and poked through leaves when we walked. It's better that the end came on so suddenly, but it is so hard to accept. The house seems so empty now.
