The first photo that I submitted to http://www.sudoku.com.au/ was shown in January 2005 and that's it below  ... or at least it would be if I could work out what the heck I am doing wrong!

Hey Kate, totally without planning this, I have adopted a "rescue dog", a smallish creature of uncertain heritage who had been badly abused in his early months and has issues (he is an uncontrollable pee-er - excitement triggers this unfortunate trait), so is considered unadoptable. The first description I received of him said he was 1 year, 4 months, and yellow lab/shepherd - just like Sandy. The reality I met Monday night was 8-9 months old, black and white and considerably smaller than a lab/shepherd, but awfully alert, affectionate, and great with the other dogs in the shelter. So my home is now tastefully decorated in blue plastic tarps and washable blankets and baby gates and dog crates. But we walk a lot (he's high energy) and he is sweet and appreciative of my efforts, so I guess it was a good thing meant to be! I'll get his picture on my site soon so you can chuckle! And he is a distraction - the house was so big and empty after Sandy's death - and he is terribly needy.

Kate, just wanted to say that, no matter what Heidi said, I understand about Schulz. Our Schulz was named Simon. He wandered into our yard, put his paws up on me and wagged his tail and asked if he could stay. He was our "dog of a lifetime." He left us 9 years later, way too soon, and we still miss him terribly. We will get another dog some day, too, just not yet.

Simon died about a year and a half ago. He was the most devoted and well behaved dog I've ever known. He was such a joy. There are pictures of him in my Flickr photostream, easiest to find under the Pet section. We've decided not to get another dog until we're through with our major traveling. We just felt so guilty leaving Simon for extended trips. It sure makes traveling easier, but the house feels kind of empty without a dog.

Hi Kate! Just read Keith's note to you, I had felt that way as well when Sandy died. I was devastated, even though I knew it was coming. But I'm glad that Jasper found me so quickly as it certainly gave me a purpose in my daily life, to prove that he was not an unadoptable fellow, that patience and firmness could straighten him out. He has become a good friend, still a bit wild, but showing steady progress. I am so glad I have a good "babysitter" - I just went to Washington state for 3 weeks to help out in a family issue and worried about leaving him as I'd only had him for 3 weeks, but all went well (there was a definite backsliding in his manners though!).

Thanks for the message Kate.Just got back today from China. We were extra lucky to view the total eclipse on a completely overcast day, when the clouds just seemed to clear at the right place and time, and then, after the eclipse, the clouds rolled back for the rest of the day. Also saw the Great Wall,Terra cotta Warriors,Shanghai,Beijing, etc. China is one big construction site!Hope to be posting again soon,Regards,Alfred.

Hi Kate, nice to hear from you again. By a strange coincidence, Anne and I were planning to do a visit to Temora - the is a show the weekend before our visit to Cowra and we have friends at Leeton which we would like to visit on our way.
Love what I have seen of your photos and ook forward to seeing the others.
I noticed your plea at the top of your page about the photos missing from your gallery - I'll have a little think and see if I can offer you some (useful) advice.

Kate, further to the above, if you select "Update Details", at the top, right of your page you will (or should) see access to your gallery and which button to push to Upload photos into your gallery. Try using that and see what happens.
Hint - try to reduce the photo sizes a bit before you upload them or you will end up with a very large photo and reduced quality.
Give it a go and come back to me if you have any troubles.

How about finding a feather or dino egg? (It has been at least 15 years since we have studied dinosaurs......) I don't know how old "kiddo" is... It sounds like it could be a lot of fun. Lots of luck!

Kate - I wrote this on easy jigsaw then thought I'd put it on your page in case you don't get back to see it. It's in reference to the deserted beaches.
"that's because there are so many of them, and some in isolated areas. Not only that, the water is quite cold as we're on the south coast."
Cheers
Anne
