Strike up a conversation, sit and stay a spell.

Leave me a post, present, prayer, poem or puzzle (or something that doesn't start with "p"). LOL

Take away a thought, a laugh or a bite to eat.

(I recommend the plum pierogi or the goats milk cheese).

Hi, Plum! I couldn't find an ice wine at our local wine shop (and I didn't have time to go to Jacksonville where we buy most of our wines). I checked out the Michigan winery website you mentioned and would have been happy to order a case of their ice wine, but they don't ship outside Michigan! So, on the recommendation of the wine expert at our local shop, I purchased a Rosa Regale, a red Italian sparkling wine with "undertones of rose petals and raspberries". When I asked what kind of dessert would complement the wine, he suggested "anything chocolate", so that sealed the deal! I ended up making a couple of French silk pies - which I hadn't made in decades because of the risk of Salmonella when ingesting uncooked eggs, but now that my local supermarket carries Davidsons eggs (Pasteurized in the shell), I can make it again! Yay! It was sinfully delicious! Some of the other wines we sampled were a nice Fetzer chardonnay that was paired with poached salmon with capers, chopped red onions and fresh dill; an Italian red (I can't remember the name of the winery or the varietal!) that was served with a cold tortellini dish with a sauce made of fresh tomatoes, baby artichokes and garlic; a wonderful California cabernet (Silver Palm) that was paired with a room-temperature pork tenderloin stuffed with spicy sausage. The wines were all very good, and the food was terrific. Jaime ate and drank far too much, so he is not eating today which is fine because I don't feel like cooking!!! We never did get to sample all the wines, so we're planning a repeat sometime in the near future!

Was that a sad story? I nearly cried at the end!
Actually I am Buddhist and the eight is the the eightfold path to Nivana. One must strive to have the right view, right thoughts, right conduct, right speech, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right meditation. Must live by the golden rule and not just for greedy self. It is hard but I try!

Plum, for Little Plum just tie the obi in the back in a bow tie! In Japan for little girls we just tie in a bow. They look soooo cute! Affix a silk flower in her hair and she's set to go!

Hi Plum, thank you so much for the birthday wishes - I love hearing from my friends around the world. I had a very spread out birthday, as Rob couldn't get home till late, but we had a lovely dinner with the kids on the weekend, and lots of beautiful presents too! :D

I'm sorry to hear about your problems today. Hopefully it is only the one goat that is infected and the disease hasn't spread.

Thanks for the birthday greeting Plum, and for the link to Kenken. I have done Kenken games before, but only with pen and paper. You helped make my birthday just that much more special. Cheers!

Plum, thank you so much for celebrating my birthday with me last week, I had so much fun reading all the posts. You got there in plenty of time!
The family went out to dinner that night, then the next day we had yet another party for my youngest daughter's 16th. I then had the pleasure of a lunch on Sunday with some of our Sudoku family who spoiled me wonderfully.
It doesn't get much better than that!
