Hi Appy
Thought of you this morning while watching a beautiful sunrise... Pollution caused it! You did say we would never look at a colourful sunrise or sunset the same way again!

Dear Appy, I have to read through all the posts to find out why but it seems things are not well with you. Yet you took the time to pass on your condolences to me 2 days ago. I am still working my way through my thank-yous to people and have had some stupid problem with ancient computer, so my apologies for slow response. Anyway, thank you again and may you stay safe and well.

Ap, I have been remiss in visiting, but you have remained in my thoughts and prayers. I have missed your puns and jokes while you were going through your health issues, and when you started to post again, I was glad you felt up to it. Now, with all of the continual bombing so close to areas known and loved by you, draining such emotion, I worry for you and have increased my prayers for you, your countrymen and your country. As has been mentioned, we in the US have not heard much about the terror that has been going on at such a rate in India...for that, I am ashamed..I will do more to become better informed. May peace be with you and yours.

Hi Anu. I hope things have settled down a bit since the devastation several days ago, and I was glad to hear that none of your immediate family was affected. It is so unfortunate that the environment of terror being forced on people in India continues. My thoughts are with you. Stay stong and safe!

Hi Anu,
The picture of the tram ridge to get to the theme park, reminded me of the two most spectacular cable car trip I've taken. The first was in California from Palm Springs to Mt. San Jaciento. It was in April the first day of Spring Practice (Major League Baseball) and warm on the desert floor in Palm Springs. You leave the desert floor and travel on a single ride high into the mountains. It was around 90° at the bottom and snowing at the top. In the elevation climb you travel over a varing range of flora/fauna athrough micro climates related to elevation.
The other spectacular cable car ride was actually 4 rides to get to the top of the Zugspitz in Switzerland. At the top is where they filmed the James Bond movie Casino Royale (the original with Sean Connery - when he was young). The view was spectacular.
PS:
Love the Lady Liberty on the 'chopper' (motor cycle) on you pictures of the theme park.

Hi Appy
So now we know where 'the land of milk and honey' comes from. Don't you wish we could find out how they used the honey - for medicinal purposes or just for eating? Possibly both. I found myself wondering if poor people/average workers had access to it or if it was reserved for the rich and powerful. Things we will never know....

Hi again Appy
I was reading the news from other sites and found another article about the beehives. I found it interesting that there were slight differences between the ways the articles were written. ABC News talks about some things as if they were 'facts', while ScienceDaily discusses them as 'theories' - my words for the tone of the articles. Also, ScienceDaily uses B.C.E. and ABC News (US) uses B.C. The ABC News link is

Hi Appy
I'm studying to be a science teacher and one of the things we are taught to look for is the way stories involving science are written or reported. We are supposed to help students become alert to signs of bias, unsubstantiated claims etc. I find I'm doing it automatically now...

Thank you Appy, I appreciate your thoughts, it is hard but we all know she is better off now and waiting for us over Rainbow Bridge. The poem is wonderful, I have printed it out and let the family read it, it is very comforting at this time.

Hey Appy, we have not recovered from the shock of being out of the cricket tournament. I wish you good luck, but I can assure you we are SOOOO upset. We only needed 126 runs to remain in the game and our boys just could not do it. It was the first match they lost in the whole tournament and they were OUT!! My son, who is 13, is very sad! I wish your team the best and we will support you to the end.
