Hi Shiela,

Thanks for the welcome! I lurked for a while before joining, but have really been enjoying reading comments (and of course, doing sudoku). Every now and then I just HAVE to add my two cents. Hope you're enjoying today's warmer weather - we certainly are!

Ciao,
Jenn

Thanks for the welcome, however belated. Actually, it's not that late when you count the number of days I am actually on. I will be on more in the summer when school's out. Not much time until then.
The horsemanship is only mediocre as he is a young horse. We'll get faster this summer though! No sense pushing him too hard and blowing his mind or knees!

Oh my...I'm so embarrassed....I have been reading and writing to and about you on easy, and felt sure that I had properly welcomed you on your page...but I see that I never got here.
Although its a late welcome, please know that its deeply meant! I see that Judy and Kathy/Fl have been on your case with their 'Blue' cries....but you have a friend in me as a M S U fan.... That was my first choice of colleges, but I ended up back home in Pa. I lived in Detroit for a short period of time, but left to care for my grandfather. Thereafter, I returned to care for an aunt, who has since died.....but the memories are good. Please enjoy the bottle of bubbly and the snacks, and I hope to visit more often.

Hi Shiela! Arthur's always game for a visit. Right now he's curled up in his favourite chair having a snooze; Holmes and Spike are preparing for their naps as well. I've just come in from chopping ice from the driveway and later will clear the detritus from a closet that's going to be ripped out next week. Let the kitchen renovations begin! I'll keep you posted on the chaos ... meanwhile, have a wonderful day, and drop by anytime.

Thank you for the welcome. Great photos of you and Debby. Your artwork is lovely. In my next life I want to be artistic! If you don't want your identity revealed (looked like cards on artwork were deliberately obscured), note that your signature is clear on sailboat piece.

We just had her desexed last Wed and the instructions read "Keep quiet till sutures removed". Nibbles forgot to read it!
She has settled in extremely well and wormed her way right into our hearts. I hope the spaying doesn't change her personality at all, she's an absolute nut bag and I wouldn't want her any other way!
Thank you so much for dropping in to ask after her.

I was just having fun with the stereotype of the London fog and rain, Shiela! I've been to London several times, too, and it's only rained a few of the days. When we travel, we try to avoid the big cities, preferring the suburbs and outlying areas, where you can really get to know the people. Thanks for your note.

Shiela...hmmm. Recuperating sort of brings images of quiet convalescence. Nibbles is having none of that! It would appear she forgot to read the instruction sheet that said 'Keep quiet till sutures removed'. Every morning, she scritches at our bedroom door till we let her in and then she goes absolutely psycho, chasing our toes under the quilt and at all the imaginary things that need to be pounced on!
The one thing she loves to do above all, is mess up my computer!!!

Hello Shiela - It sounds like you are going to get more snow down your way than we are. I would like to wish you and your family a Happy Easter. I hope you have a great week-end. I hope you are feeling better today.

Hi Shiela. Welcome. We will still have some snow in April. This is my 6th Easter in VT and we always have snow near it no matter how late Easter falls. Fortunately my church doesn't do an outside sunrise service like I went to growing up.

Hi Shiela, and I hope your Easter was a joyous one. I'm reading comments that you were under the weather/achy, and my fingers are crossed that you're feeling better. As to our kitchen chaos, we're still in the honeymoon stages, poking fun at our "hillbilly" lifestyle, washing dishes in the bathroom sink. As I type this, we're having terra cotta tiles laid; it's been a quiet process to date--even the demolition was pretty peaceful, though the cats didn't think so. Spike spent the first day hidden under the loveseat. Holmes and Arthur are faring better. We've got the cats "isolated" on our second and third floors so we don't have to worry about them somehow getting in the workers' way or even worse, slipping out the back door. They're managing in their "confined" space and don't seem too curious about what's going on downstairs. So, as of today, all is well. Take care of yourself and let me know how you're doing.

Shiela,
I just saw your drawings on Debby's page. What gorgeous artwork! I particularly love the attention to detail with the stones and the variance in the shadowing. What a wonderful talent to have and to share, you are very fortunate!

Shiela, Thanks for visiting my page. (By the length of time it has taken me to respond, you can tell I don't check my page often.) Green River in NC (the water is actually, discernably green) crosses I-26 near Hendersonville and flows down into Polk and Rutherford Counties. That's not too close to Fayetville. But it's nice to meet another Tar Heel on the site. Go UNC!

Hi Shiela -- Thanks for visiting my page. I'm glad you liked the pictures. I've got a bunch more, I just haven't had time to put them up. Where are you going in Italy? We were there for 10 days last fall and had a marvellous time - mostly in Tuscany.

Shiela -- that sounds like a fantastic trip! Those are all places we wanted to go, but couldn't fit in. We were lucky to find that our daughter, who was studying there, had picked up enough Italian to get us around! Good luck trying to learn it - it's very like Spanish, if you know that - but different enough to get one in trouble I found I could read road signs, but ordering in restaurants involved some creative results

Shiela, thanks for the visit. Husband and I both enjoy gardening and the flowers. Have to admit the daylily is his, should be getting ready to bloom again in another month or so. Right now the jonquils are still in bloom and the tulips have started blooming, put a few of the in my gallery. Reading the comment from Peg you are going to Italy, When & where??

Hi Shiela! Debby mentioned several times today how much she enjoyed her get together with you. She is such a sweet lady - I just knew she would be! I think she had a good time today, too. I'm so glad she had a day to relax & enjoy herself before she takes on the stress of the trip to Jacksonville & dealing with her mom's medical problems. The weather was beautiful - a great day for a ride in Carol's convertible with the top down! Fun at any age!

Hi Shiela. Thanks for popping in! The bride's family is Australian Scottish! All the men in the family wore kilts of that tartan. After the wedding the Bride's father piped the wedding party out of the church! At the reception he piped everyone from the lawn where the pre-dinner drinks were served to the dinner.

Hi Shiela, I'm going to try again. I don't know why I was having trouble getting a message to you. Let's hope this works. I wanted to thank you for the birthday greeting. I did just join, but have enjoyed this site for many moons. Actually, my birthday isn't until November 4th. I'm not sure where Gath came up with April 10th, but it did make for a very special day. I needed some smiles. I guess everything, even mistakes, happen for a reason. I've seen the Michigan people on this site, and have wondered where everyone was from. I am also north of Detroit. Sounds like we're all in the same general area. I could use some help enhancing my page. I love your swan. We are starting to see them in our cannel already. Again, thank you for the birthday wishes. Sudokuland forever, Margot

Thanks for the best wishes Shiela. I'm not after a placing, but I am hoping for a reasonable time (3hrs 30mins). I'm aiming to do a qualifying time for the 2010 Boston marathon later this year so hopefully I'll be heading over there in two years with three or four marathons under my belt.

Shiela, for your welcome. And for your comment about my comment on the picture on yesterday's hard... or was it the tough... (whatever) of the rabbit about the tortoise... or turtle... was it a terrapin? Anyway, thanks... for the explanation of 'a Sheila named Shiela' because I have a niece (or is it neice) named Sheila and I was confused or maybe that is fairly apparent. Am I making any sense, I didn't think so. Live long and prosper.

Hi Shiela,
how is your tooth feeling?? I was thinking of you and wondering when my oldest daughter called me yesterday to tell me that one of her wisdom teeth is swollen and inflammed and the dentist wanted to take it out on the spot!! Poor thing-- mouth pain is no fun-- hoping that your crown isn't bothering you-- have a good day

Hi Shiela, the marathon was great and my time pretty much came in at around what I was aiming for (I wanted around 3hrs 30 mins and came in at 3hrs 35 mins.) It was the Canberra marathon, so I didn't have to travel far. I was quite sore for the 12 hours or so after the marathon but after a good night's sleep last night all I'm suffering is a bit of stiffnes in my muscles - the body's an amazing thing!

Thanks for the prayers, Shiela, and keep them coming. I'm petrified of what lies ahead, but am trying my best not to dwell on that, only that for now, all is good and I've got the chance to give back to others. Bless you.
