Shiela, every year should be a biggie as far as I am concerned. I do not shy away from any birthdays. They are all reasons to celebrate life with our family and friends. In fact my hubbie and daughters would tell you (if you asked) that we celebrate birthday weekends when the guest of honor is treated to a celebration each day! Please feel free to adopt this tradition in your family if you are so inclined. I am petitioning for birthday weeks with my family, but so far no go! So go for the big one girlfriend!

Hi Shiela, hope your son Marcus had a fabulous birthday yesterday (5/9 now our time)! What do 8 year old boys ask for? I never had boys so I am terrible trying to pick out boy birthday gifts. Hubbie has to help out there. Is he your oldest?

Hi Shiela - They're everywhere, They're everywhere. (Bureaucrats) I think we, as a nation, have lost the battle. I just looked at the requirements for a building permit in my area. It's almost funny...

Thanks for the good wishes on Nora Hope's birth. Nora and big brother Payton and mommy and daddy are well. I'm still with my daughter and family in Cincinnati, Ohio, doing gramma duties and becoming quite tired myself! It's a good tired, however! I'm hoping to be able to go home tomorrow (Wednesday 5/14) and then I can play sudoku again!

Dear Shiela,
Thank you for your support while I have been ill. I never expected such a response from this site, everyone’s concern and caring has overwhelmed me. I can only say that it is the genuine people here who make this a very unique place to share our hopes, dreams, ups and downs. So thank you for being there.

Hi Sheila,
Thank you for the birthday wishes. Yes, it was the 8th, happy birthday to your son too. I've got one that will soon be 31, and I'm sure not old enough to have a kid that old either.
Advice for getting through those milestone birthdays? Well, I tried to ignore it but some wonderful people wouldn't let me do that. It turned out to be a pretty ok day after all. So just enjoy the heck out of yourself. Happy birthday to you in case I miss it.
Take care,
Cindy

Thanks for stopping by my place and checking out my gallery..had you gone into the flickr page you'd have really seen lots of rain on several pictures, both in France and the Uk...
Where are you headed in September..London? Sure hope you have better weather, but no matter...I know you will have a great time, as did we....we'll have to share notes when you get back...meanwhile, do drop in again and tell me more about your upcoming trip...I'm all ears. Oh, BTW..., yes, we've had four new babies born into the family in the last 6 months, and I do feel blessed!

Shiela - I agree with the advice someone gave you on Easy: drink a LOT of water! Glad to hear you may get together with Debby & Jenny tomorrow. Debby had mentioned it but I wasn't sure when it was going to happen. Did you say you're going to Debby's house? Maybe she would have time to give you a quick Flickr lesson? She's very good at home-schooling you know! Have a great time & be sure someone takes some pictures to share with us.

Hi Shiela - St. Lucia was absolutely wonderful, such a gorgeous island with the most amazingly friendly people. I saw Air Supply they were great and full of life, they really got the crowd going. If you go onto youtube and put in Air Supply St. Lucia Jazz you will see them on there, someone has put a video of them on there. The Jazz Festival was so so good. I saw so many fantastic artists, my favourite was Anita Baker she was out of this world and was on stage for over two hours. Dionne Warwick was excellent too. So many there to see... I miss it so much xx

Hi Shiela
How i wish 'Tea & Treasures' was mine !
I went there for Mothers Day High Tea.
It was lovely but not enough of it. lol
They also had some lovely clothing for sale and I got a gorgeous blue beaded top.
I will try today to post more photos and include one of me in it.
Can you tell me, if you are new to Sudoku puzzles, as in solving them, where do you go for tips etc?
As i have said I can do the easy one but thats about it.
I assume there are various formulas at play but I may be too old to progress further.

Hi Shiela,

I really enjoyed spending the afternoon with you, too! It was a LOVELY day all the way around. Thanks for carpooling with me - I really appreciate the conversation, and you're a great navigator, too. I hope Ian & Sean didn't tire you out completely. They can be a real handful at times, but we're never bored! I look forward to our next meeting, as I'm sure it will be just as fun as this one.

Big hugs,
Jenn

Hi, Shiela!
Thank you for the nice comments on my page.

Actually, my son is graduating from high school next month, then going on to UC Berkeley. He is my one and only, so I am NOT looking forward to the little bird growing his wings, but that's what my job as his Mommy is supposed to be...At least N Cal is not too far away...

Sheila, Thank you for the birthday, this is the first day I have been back on the site for more than a few minutes since my birthday. I am in Tell City, IN for my job and it has been long days, dinner and back to the hotel room. This is the first night I have been able to just put jammies on and relax.

The tiara on my daughter is for a scholarship pageant she won in 2005.

What part of MI are you in. My husband worked in Ann Arbor for about 8 months in 1998, but then got a job back in town so we didn't move there.

Thanks again for the birthday wishes, have a great day.
