hi Jane, mince is what we call it in Australia! I suppose it must mean minced beef or ground beef!

spent Australia Day with friends.. Great time had by all.. a tad too hot, thank goodness for Airconditioning.
You could use Pkt Onion Soup, to substitute the pkt French Onion Soup we have here in Australia, for the recipe Beef and Pineapple Casserole.
MizT uses the Pkt Onion Soup when she makes the casserole.

Hi, Jane! I don't mean to be a grammar prude, but on your idea for a Sudoku T-shirt, it is more grammatically correct to say, "Sudokuland has my number," rather than, "Sudokuland has got my number.)

Lol Jane....When I cook some of those odoriferous things we speak about them as the 'stinking goodies'. Its always best to cook them when you can air the house afterwards...

When in June is your anniversary, Jane? We will celebrate OUR 39th on June 7! So, you can say, as I do ... "I got mine in '69!" :)
(I'll check back here for your response.)

Hi, Judy!

Our anniversary is June 28. Can't believe it's been 39 years! I'm planning to post wedding pictures on my page in June. If you want, send me one of yours (Kathy has my e-mail address) and I'll post that on my page, too. What a hoot! Maybe there are some other 69ers out there. I could have a whole page of wedding pictures. hehehehe

What a kick, Jane! As my husband always says, "Yep, 39 years. Thirty-nine l-o-o-o-n-n-n-g-g-g years." Funny guy ...

Hi Jane! A GREAT effort on your part to put that cookbook together. Well done young lady! I see from the comments above that we will also have to take note of a couple of Jack Benny anniversaries in June. Cheers!

Congratulations Jane. The cookbook is BRILL. Thank you for taking an idea and making it more accessible by soting re mains, desserts etc.
Do you think a link to it could be added to the top of the existing recipe page? Are you able to update it as new receeps are added?

Hi, Jane! Wow! Thank you for your efforts putting the cookbook together! It looks great! Now, if only I had time, I could search the Archives. There used to be someone from Texas (I think her name was Trish) who often submitted recipes on the Easy page. This was before we had a separate page for recipes in the Forum, and she didn't always remember to mark the comment type as a recipe, which aggravated a few other posters. It seems to me she submitted quite a few that sounded good, so they are back somewhere in the archives. Oh, well, something to think about doing when I find the time. Thanks again!

Jane great to have your effort on the web. My wife loves cooking and has been very pleased with this new "widget" in your personal page.
BTW your husband has a very spanish name. Is he from latin ancestors? I am going to put in my page a picture of the cover from the book that Clemencia wrote on Microwave cooking.
Enjoy your day. LOL

Fantastic job... I have been wanting something like this.
I particularly would like you to ask people to add their "quick and easy" recipes which are loved on those nights you have to whip something yummy up but really dont want to.
Can you add a section for those?

Another Idea you can add is:

Sprinkle a medium amount of dry soup packet of french onion soup over a lightly oiled steak (t-bone is good) and cook in the oven. It is so yummy. Simple.

Great job, Jane. You've put lots of thought into this and I'm sure many people will take advantage of the recipe book. I have a request, if you're able to meet it. A couple of recipes mention "pumpkin pie spice", which is an unknown to us Aussies. Can you tell us what spices this mixture contains, so that we can get the flavour as close as possible? Thanks, Jane.

Hi Jane. I've got a recipe to add to your book! It's for the chocoholics! I put it on the recipe page, and I'm putting here too. Hope it's not too complicated adding it to the book!
Thanks to Elizabeth David

250g (9 oz) dark bitter chocolate

150g (5 oz) castor sugar

150g (5 oz) butter

100g (3 oz) (2/3 cup) ground almonds

5 eggs separated

Melt chocolate, sugar and butter in a bowl sitting in a pot of simmering water.

Remove from heat, stir thoroughly to combine, mix in almonds, then beat in the egg yolks one by one.

Beat the egg whites until stiff and peaky and stir a couple of spoonfuls into the chocolate mixture to lighten it, before gently folding in the rest.

Turn into a buttered and floured 20 cm (8”) round or square cake tin and bake at 180C (350F) for 40 – 50 mins. [I have a fan forced oven and it needs less time]

Cool a bit before removing from tin.

Enjoy

Hi Jane! I FINALLY took the time today to check out your cookbook. Wow, what a lot of time & effort on your part to put all those recipes, conversions, etc. together for all of us Sudokuists!! I think you will now be assured of a place in Sudokuland history as the creator of Sudokudos just as Sweeta of India was the creator of Maen!

Jane: See my post midway down page 3 addressed to you and other cooks. You will laugh - it is true. for all your hard work on the Cookbook. I've got 3 more pie recipies (two for chocoholics and a pineapple cream cheese pie) want me to post them on the forum.

The Angel Pie only has a 1/2 cup of sugar and no flour. You probably could use splenda to make the meringue.

Also did you read the True Story on Easy Page 3. I forgot to put a CD for the drive and my Music Station has now gone to full talk even on weekends, that is the only reason I heard this silly woman.

Jane, thanks for your birthday wishes ... I think! After all the work you did on the fantastic cookbook, are you really willing to host "before and after" anniversary photos on your page? That would be awesome but a lot of work for you. If wedding photos are called for, I'm going to have to dig in a closet to find my original ones! Thanks, too, for being my favorite dueling partner! I'd like to add my thank you for the work you've done on the cookbook! What an effort!

I hope you can convince your husband to see his doctor. I know, I know, they really hate to go, but two weeks seems way too long to be down with the flu! Hope he's on the mend soon!

Hi Jane - Having a husband "under the weather" is no fun. I would much rather be sick myself!

I received an e-mail within the past 6 months about a stuffy head. I know this sounds unbelievable but......it recommended rubbing vicks on the bottome of your feet. (Socks recommended!) I have never tried it so I don't know if it work, but anything is worth a try.

Lots of luck. And yes, I agree, after two weeks it is time for a visit with the doctor.

Is he running a temperature?

It would be cool to have before and after shots of us long-married June brides in one place, but whatever you decide is fine.
