Vici, your camera should have a micro setting, which is how a lot of mine are taken. If I can get close enough I will just zoom in, that works also.

Hi Vici, I managed to befriend the cat that you warned me about. I brought us some and to sip and munch while we visit.

Thank you for the compliments on my artwork. I have a stepdaughter in Los Gatos and I've done a bit of traveling in California. You have some beautiful scenery out there.

Boy, Vici, you are one active lady! Tennis is my main form of exercise, & I have played for over 30 years. Trouble is I never get any better at it, but I still love playing just the same. I, too, am rated a 3.5. My peak year was back in 1998 when my Senior (over 50) USTA team advanced all the way to Nationals! That was so exciting. We made it again in 2001, but it's been all downhill since then - ha ha! Now most of my friends & I are in the Super Senior (over 60)category. We have advanced to Sectionals, but can't seem to get any farther than that. Still we have lots of fun & consider ourselves lucky to be fit enough to play even on 90+ deg. days. Hope you get your remodeling done soon so you can get back to tennis playing! Where exactly in CA do you live?

for your comforting thoughts! In the next seven months as I hold my breath and avoid the news, I'll be thinking of you and the warmth you spread my way. What part of California are you? north or south? When Judy/San Diego gets back home we're thinking of getting together along with Aileen and Caligirl. Want to join us? If you're far north, you can get together with Keith and Eve.. Either way both are a great group to know!

I'm sorry to say our little devils are slowly dying out. There is a facial tumour disease going through them. It isn't in our area at the moment, thank goodness they are collecting the young devils from our area and holding them in captivity and or sending them to the Australian big island. The scientists now are saying the disease is mutating and they are discovering more strains of it.

Hi Vici,
Thanks for stopping by. I'm glad you enjoyed the Egypt photos, it was a great trip! We are off to Peru in a few weeks. I'm really looking forward to that.
I don't have any particular place to find smilies. I just Google "such and such image" and wade through what comes up. It's always a challenge to see what I can find! The best place I've found to resize smilies and avatars is www.shrinkpictures.com It's easy enough that even I can do it

Hello again! We will be taking a train from Cuzco to Machu Picchu and staying there for two days. I'm not taking a lap top, so I'll have to handle the sudoku withdrawal and possible altitude sickness at the same time!lol
I had not heard of The Motorcycle Diaries. I'll look for it. Good luck on your smilie search!

Awhhhhgg! Thanks for the comment about the storm picture on my page Vici.
I love that photo, although it does not elicit all that much comment from others. It is an extra-special location that I visit each time I go to Sumatra, and it provides a different mood each time. That one is really fantastic - I think.
I have flown over that place on a Merapi (local airline) jet, and the volcanic craters of that area continuously issue boiling spurts of lava. It is a truly dramatic place in many respects, but a very difficult place for a lone travellor.

Hi Vici,
I also love coffee; although if I drink too much it can induce angina.
They have a particular way of drinking coffee in Sumatra - that is the black kind with the hint of chocolate about it. It is served black (there is no fresh milk there - only condensed), very hot, and very sweet. The mug or cup comes with a saucer and the idea is to cool the coffee by pouring it backwards and forwards; cup/saucer. I suppose it is a bit like Turkish coffee in that it has not been filtered, and the coffee grains are roughly, but not completely, at the bottom of the cup. I love it! But I sometimes add powdered milk if I have the chance. I have seen the coffee growing there, and have also visited a river-side, coffee-grinding 'factory' - powered by a traditional water wheel.

Good morning, Vivi!
I am very much an O's fan! I live in Bowie, home to the Bowie Baysox. The Baysox are the Oriole's minor league AA team. My husband and I have season tickets. The Baysox stadium is about 10 minutes from our house, so it's very convenient to go to the home games. I am president of the booster club this year. One of the things the booster club does is fix and serve the players a meal after Sunday home games. We set up a buffet in the stadium restaurant with food the club members have cooked. The players really appreciate a home cooked meal and they bring their families (if they are married) and girlfriends, or even family members that are visiting. Most of these guy are in their early 20's. It's a lot of fun to get to know them and thrilling when some of them move up to play with the Orioles! By the way, Dave Trembly, the O's manager, coached here for several years. He is an absolutely terrific guy, and one great coach! I was sad to see him leave here, but very happy he got the job he deserved. Oh, yes! I was well aware that the O's beat the Yankees. The scores are always announced over the loud speakers at the stadium to much cheering, or in some cases, groaning! We probably see 70+ home games a season and really love it! TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALL GAME!

Hi Vici, Thanks for dropping in. Christina Lake is a popular vacation spot for people from all over. I don't live right at the lake though. I am 6 miles up a dirt road on the mountain and my house is less than a mile from the US border. Here is a website about the lake, http://www.britishcolumbia.com/regions/towns/?townID=3393 . Your place looks lovely. I have had to live with smoke also. It can get rather scary. This summer has been okay so far. Loved your YouTube. See you on the SA5 page.
