Hi Gail, thanks for the welcome back. I have caught up with all the washing now and before I go back to work tomorrow I thought I would reply to all the nice notes I got on my page while I was away. I missed doing the sudoku and jigsaws while I was away. It will take me a while to go back and do them all but I will have fun doing them and reading all the comments.

Thanks for stopping by my page. Glad you enjoyed our rural community with its historic downtown. BTW that is the business community of today. During the Gold Rush the population reached 3000, you may have noted that many of the original buildings were Saloons. After the Gold Rush some stayed and became farmers.

Peter Britt, who owned the land where Britt Festivals is held was a photographer, made a business of hauling freight, then put his botanist skills to work on developing/finding species of fruits that grew best in the Rogue Valley. When you hear me tell what is happening at Britt - you can picture me laying on the lawn and watching the concerts on warm summer evenings.

BTW - our total population today is less than 3000. When the railroad came through Medford, the county seat was moved and Jacksonville had become a Ghost Town that in the 1950's was revived into the lovely community it is today, snuggled in the foothills above the valley.

I've been super busy getting ready to leave on Thursday for my team tennis weekend in Daytona followed by a week at the beach house at Fripp Island.
