Angie...Your lastest pictures are great, and your deep thinker is handsome in his new glasses. All of the kids look great.
Hoping the job search has some positive results soon. I'm sure its difficult. Perhaps when we elect Obama as president, things will improve for you
. Sure miss our chats. Take care, I care.

Angie, I have just read the many comments today from the old gang & the new gang. Geesh, it's a shame it's come to this. I liked the old days better, too, but then maybe that's because it was all new & fresh & fun back then. I wanted to tell you that I agree with you that the repetitiousness of birthday greetings gets to be SO boring, & for that matter, I think the race for TOPP's & 22's & all that stuff gets mighty old, too, page after page & day after day. But who am I to spoil other people's fun - I try to just live & let live. Your son looks so cute in his new glasses. Hope they will help him. Also, hope you find a job soon. I keep wondering what kind of work you do?? Have a good week.

Angie - saw your comment about helping out at school. Don't think that you will ever get paid if you are obviously willing to do so for nothing!! At least unless your schools are better off than ours are financially. Did you see that the Dallas school district is getting ready to lay off over 1100 workers, including 550 teachers? Somebody made a mistake that put them $84 million in the hole for this year!

I have not been around much at all recently, so was glad to see your comments.

Hey Angie
Twas just looking at your version of the shredded meat on the Recipe Page.
So how long does the meat actually cook for.. do you put the crockpot on in the evening, and let it cook all of the next day as well.. ie cook around 24 hours ??
and the weight/size of the meat??

Hi Angie!
Is there any way that you can talk to the teacher about e-mailing you about good news about your son? I do that daily for a little boy who needs the "at-a-boy" a lot. I have worked out a schedule for mom to receive a good email when he does well and of course when he doesn't. But lately he is getting better and I let him know when mom is going to get a good note from me. It motivates him into doing more for me.

Angie, hang in there. I am going to tell you what I do as teacher, then why I do. When I make up practice sheets for a lesson, I make up almost a hundred problems for the students. I have some who are fast workers and some who are vvveeeerrrrryyyyy ssssllllloooowwww! I keep them working until my slow ones have done enough to show me that they understand which may be two or three versus the near hundred my fast workers can do. When I correct I do only the few the slow ones have done. I have those immature little guys who are smart but maddeningly slow (either they're sloths [slow movers] or they're slow thinkers) either way I do get them to perform well on the state tests, so it's no skin off my nose as to how much work they do. The kids know this too. I praise them all, fast workers for being great workers (on their efforts) and slow workers are being great workers (on accuracy). Now why? Because my younger son was one of the slow workers. He was tested highly gifted and when he did the state exams, he came in then top 4% in the state. He is the US Marine in Iraq instead of being college.

Hi Angie I too held my two min's of silence today here in england as i watched (on tv) the amnistist parade takeing place in Whitehall london, where there was three men veterans of the first world war one @ 108 years of age one @ 110 and one @ 112. The one @ 110 is the only serviver of many men that fort in the trenchers of world war one, His name is Harry Patch He's a great old man and if you could hear the story's that he tells thay would make your eyes water. As I watched these men lay there poppies at the cenitaph it brougth tears to my eyes and I agree with you that these men must not be forgotten.
There is a great saying "Thay did what thay had to do yesterday so we can do what we wont to do today"
Thanks for takeing the time for the two min's silence at the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month

Hey Angie, thanx again for the info. It is great to hear how other people live and I love hearing about family traditions surrounding food. You have a great system going for you.
My SIL married into an Italian family and they have family events centred around making gallons of pasta sauce. It is sad when these traditions die out.

Angie, Keep up the good work, quiting is the hardest thing I ever did. I can say that even after 14 years there is times I still want one, but mostly I don't even think of smoking anymore.

Angie - The craving does lessen. But in my case it took about a year! The best part of quitting is never running out of breath on the tennis court and being able to bike for 20 or 30 miles without stopping (and I'm no spring chicken!!!) I have a confession, however: I promised myself that if I'm ever diagnosed with an untreatable terminal disease, I will start smoking again!!!

Hi Angie - let me add my encouragement on your 73 days free of smoking. Good on you and keep it up.
I am 61 this week and have been a smoker since I was about 15. I have made several attempts to give up over the years but it's always been my lack of will-power and addictive personality that have let me down. And the older you get the harder it is to achieve.
Just remember that you don't want to be my age and still smoking - not good for your health or your finances.

Angie, I wanted to add my words of encouragement and praise for what you've accomplished. I smoked for over 30 years, having quit and started up again several times along the way. I quit once for 5 years and had one out of curiosity and was instantly back smoking again. That's my main message to you, you can't let up your guard, even for an instant, or all you've accomplished could "go up in smoke." What you've done is huge, and you should be very proud of yourself. You should already feel better, but the health benefits keep getting better and better as time goes on. May you have the strength to remain a non-smoker from now on. The physical craving should all be gone now. What's left is "all in your head." Those urges will get weaker and less frequent, and then one day you won't be able to remember how long it's been since you've had one.

Hey Angie, on the radio today they were talking about addictions, and the latest findings are that it takes the brain 3 months to begin to adapt from a nicotine addiction. Hang on in there....you've done most of the work....you will prevail...

Hmm. A Meeting after Testing. That means a score is either "too high" or "too low," and, if Dad's showing up, it's probably because of a "too low."
I'd be interested in what's going on, if you care to share.

Happy 91st Birthday to your Gramma may she continue to be of good health.
My mum (also in reasonable health and living on her own) is turning 90 in August. I am ( along with my siblings) planning a big party for her at my place. Relatives from Sydney (and possibly Holland) will be coming.
