Hi Linda,
for the welcome. I have been admiring your photos of Africa. What part is Kirawira/Tarangire in? I went to Kenya a few years ago and loved it - looks like you had a great time too.

We visited Tsavo and the Voi elephant orphanage (my mum adopts elephants there), Amboseli and Samburu in Kenya - oh, and Nairobi and the orphanage there too, of course!

Hi Linda. Thanks for coming by a few days ago, so for the late response - haven't had a lot of time recently. I don't have a separate lens but I have a macro & a super macro button! I discovered the super macro by chance & that's what I use most of the time (as long as I can get close enough)! i was taking some of bees on a grevillea in my back yard, then I heard some rustling so I sat down on a chair to see if it was our friendly blue tongue lizard, but he didn't appear; anyway while I was waiting I used the zoom & took a few photos of the grevillea. When I down loaded them I only got one that was any good from the macro shots - it was a bit breezy & they were blurred, but the 3 I took on zoomed landscape were good. I couldn't even see any bees from where I was sitting! That's a long winded "thanks for the visit"!

linda, i'm very happy about your comments regarding the Valley of Whale you can also visit the site through the net and also try ( ras mohamed ) protected area in sharm el-shaik ( egypt ), and no doubt that your gallary picture are wonderful , have a nice day and keep in contact

Hi, Linda. You're quite the traveler. You even made it over to my page! Help me out, Pioneer where? In the USA? What state? I tried picking up clues by looking at your photo gallery and reading the comments your previous visitors have left, but I have to go now and still haven't figured out where Pioneer is. (But I had a lovely visit.)

Yeah - another year older. This one was my "Medicare" Birthday. My present was they start deducting for Medicare from my Social Security. Then my Blue Cross Insurance premiums increase for "Medicare Gap" coverage over the full coverage I had before. Makes no sense to me.

Linda - just stopping in to see how things are down the road. Have been so grateful since the smoke cleared, but the weather this past month has been too hot for my liking.
Sorry I missed posting a for your grandson. I know how close you are to the kids and am sad it went unnoticed. I have been spending a lot of my posting time on SA5...which I just stumbled into accidentally. Felt much more welcomed there after the initial "welcome" wore off on the easy pages. I realize some of the folks have been together for a long time here in Sudokuland and know each other quite well - it's hard to be a newbie (for me) sometimes.
Anway, just wanted to check in and send my love and blessings. ...so glad fall is just around the corner - hugs!

Linda - sorry to hear about your MIL - 100 and still going so strong! I can imagine how I wouldn't want to leave my home either, but SLO is a long way from you guys...too far to be commuting. Hope she will agree to move closer to you and to a facility that can help her.

I was sorry to here about your MIL, as I'm sure it will be difficult to convince someone who has been self-sufficient for 100 years to become a dependent in a home. At any rate, let her know this Canadian is wishing her the best. I hope all works out. I also missed your 40 anniversary, so belated best wishes for that! Take care and stay smiling!

After a week of agony Sharon was perated on ysterday for a burst appendix which had twisted around and was bloching the bowel. She is now OK but I will have Laura with me till Sharon can cope looking afer her. Love to you both.

Loved your photo gallery, especially Africa. I was recently in the planning stage of a trip to Africa next year...until my children in Dubai told me I was to be a grandma for the first time next May. Africa will now have to wait a year. Trying to find Pioneer - is it in Oklahoma? I lived in Rochester Minnesota for a year in the 70's.

I am going to New York in February for 2 weeks and then Dubai for 2 weeks, all planned before the baby news, now of course, I will be going again in May - and very happy about it too!

Hi Linda! I'm slowly catching up on Sudoku after our long trip through four countries in SE Asia. Thank you for your birthday greeting on Dec. 4. I had a wonderful day which began when we watched the sun rise at Angkor Wat in Cambodia - unforgettable! We took MANY pictures which I will try to whittle down to our favorites & post on Flickr as soon as I can find time. We hope to plan our trip to Africa in 2009! (I have a close-up picture of a tiger on my page right now!) We still have so many places to visit on our wish list. In our tour group there was a couple who are 81 & & 78 & still love to travel. I hope we can stay as fit & active as they are! Do you have any travel plans for next year? Rob & I would like to wish you & your family a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year. It will be 2009 before we know it!
