Here’s the traditional

LEMON CORDIAL
Ingredients:
Juice of 7 large lemons
Grated rind of 5 large lemons
1 kg sugar
1.25 litres of water
25g citric acid
Method:
1.In a large pan, boil up sugar, water, grated peel and citric acid.
2.Take off and add juice, If preferred, this may be strained.
3.Bottle whilst still hot into clean, sterilised (in oven) bottles

Mix it with gin and soda if you want an alcoholic drink.

Sorry for being so late in visiting your page and exending my best wishes but I had my family visiting over Christmas and the New Year and had all seven of my Grandchildren together for the first time, which was absolutely wonderful. It didn't leave me much time to get to my computer, naturally.

Hi Kate,
During the 1994 fires we were in Italy watching the fires on the nightly news (in mild panic). Our daughter who was with us, saw PLC friends on TV up on their roof, hosing down. Our son was at home being instructed by our elderly neighbour and they had blocked the downpipes in readiness for flooding the roof. Every Melbourne relative apparently rang him hourly, telling him to get out! Someone asked him about the cat. He said he hadn't seen the cat for some time but he did notice some charred bones on the back lawn!!! (The cat was fine). Luckily they controlled the fires at Lady Game Drive, 2 streets away. It was too close for comfort though. I heard on ABC radio this morning that there was a fire (now controlled) at Killara. I'll check your link, it will probably tell me.

OK, read the SMH and it is the same fire, they made it sound like a new outbreak. Several of our Highfields families lived in Albany Cres. Speaking of Highfields, 3 of them lost their homes in the 1994 fires, they lost everything and the school rallied around and provided clothes, furniture etc.

Dear Kate, how wonderful that you thought of me and my mother's life on Dangar, I can't believe that you remembered that. Please put them on your page sometime and I will look at them fondly.
I was privileged to spend Mum's last week with her, and though I was not with her in her final moments, my sisters where and she knew to the end just how loved she will always be.
Her service on Friday was so beautiful. My siblings and I all said the eulogy for her and it was a very moving occasion. We did her proud.

Hi Kate, I composed a note to you but it became lost in the transmission. What I said was that it is getting pretty warm out here now. The temperature in the shade at the back of our house is now about 43.5º C and I am feeling the heat. My single ambition on a hot day i to live through it and today is a bit of a struggle. Never mind, there is a change on the way.

Hi Kate - I know I’m late doing this but just calling in to thank you for the wonderful birthday greetings. I did indeed have a lovely day, made better by being able to spend it with the whole family.
