Hi Dino. Things have to start getting better now! I wouldn't want my worst enemy to have kidney (or gall) stones, those tubes are too small for stones & they let you know loud & clear!!!!

Dino, loved your note about Merlin and his visitor. Serena was delighted to accept the licks from Merlin and sends back tail wags and a wee kiss too. I must get myself together and post a few photos. Thanks for reminding me. Big ear scratches for Merlin!

Thanks for the explanation, dino, but I was joking about hair being evil. I never thought about shaving underarms as being as much about appearance as about odor control.
I'm up right now (3:25 am) because of a severe thunderstorm. Several of my dogs are terrified of storms and won't let me sleep.

I have NO problem with Buddhists, only respect, and definitely prefer them to Christians. You sound like a truly good person, dino.

dino, thanks for your kind thoughts. I think that getting older is an occupational hazard. I guess what matters is how you feel - and I have been having a few 'down' periods lately. But things will get better - in time. What about yourself?

Hello Dino, thanks for the extra info on your son's house building. I have visited your Flickr site - what amazing photos. I am just starting into flower photography and I was interested in how you have framed the images. the sunsets from Cape Liptrap are magical.

Dino, are you feeling well? I noticed your comment that you were going to have to get more rest -- doctor's orders, I assume. I wish you the very best. Of course, puzzling all day is not a bad sentence to "have to" serve. Take care!

Thank you for visiting my page. Glad that I could share my family with you. I have always wanted to thank you for letting me know that my Buddhist up bringing and my Christian education needn't war with each other. I've been more at peace since meeting you. I find it easier to follow the eightfold path. Thank you for your gentle teaching.

Dino, good to hear from you boys!
"Hi Serena. Merlin sends a lick and a tailwag."
The princess sends a tailwag back and agrees to another lick if Merlin happens to send one.
And we both send best wishes to you, Dino!

Hi Dino, Read you have not been well. I had never heard of the parathyroid until you mentioned it. I had to google and find out what it was. I have a thyroid problem and wondered if it involved the thyroid, now I know it doesn't. Do you have a parathyroid problem? after reading the problems it causes & I have high blood calcium I had a PTH test done. That test was normal so I am guessing mine is fine but will discuss it further with my doctor.
I also see you have had kidney stones. I know just how painful they are, have had them 4 times. I quit drinking tap water and have not had any since. I was told mine were most likely from minerals in the water.
Stay well, please let me know how you are doing.

Hi Dino! Look at Daplap's page today's offering is "How many __ does it take to change a lightbulb?" There were a lot of Christian denominations. I added a Buddhist one - None, the light bulb will work in another life time! What do you think?

Hi Dino! I LOVED visiting your gallery...such beautiful pictures! Lit a candle on the eve of the Olympics for Tibet. There are some really beautiful films I've seen. Kundun (sp?) and 10 Questions for the Dahli Lama. You've probably already seen them. I'm a big supporter of the Free Tibet campaign.

Thank you for the Birthday greetings. I spent tonight (15th) listening to beautiful classical music with Midori (violinist) performing with the Britt Orchestra. I have the rest of the weekend to celebrate with two more classical concerts (Sunday is the Grand Finale of the Classical Season).
The only problem was that Thursday & Friday were 108° tying & setting the record highs. Tomorrow is suppose to be in the 100's again, but cooling to the low 80's by Tuesday. Funny thing is that overall the summer has been reasonably cool - just a couple of really hot spells - nothing like the first year I moved up to So. Oregon, when we had 31 days with only 1 day below 100 and it was 99.
Last year I spent my Birthday in So. Calif with my Mom. This year she called me a sang Happy Birthday to me from work (she will be 87 this year) and still traveling.
Thanks again for the Birthday greetings.

Dino, I should check my page more often. It was only today that I saw your note to me on my page that said you had taken a picture of the Ruby turn-off. When I first saw the photo, I was utterly surprised -- and tickled. Hence, the laughter. Thanks again. It did me good.
I went to your page, by the way, to see if there was a "Do not Disturb" sign up. You hadn't checked in for a while, and MizT. said you were embroiled in writing your book. Happy you reconnected with us; sorry you were ill; hope you're better. Have you finished the book?
Rudy (sigh) developed issue after issue, mostly concerning dominance and an overwhelming load of testosterone. I had him neutered, and, in consultation with the vet, did obedience and other exercises with him. I also just plain tried to exercise the fool out of him -- for five months -- all to no avail. When he offered to bite the little girl down the road and the yard man, I just couldn't have it. I've always been blessed with good-natured animals. I won't own a dog that will bite. If I took him back, what they would do is not humane, so I was going to have him put down myself. At lunch that day a friend offered to take him. She lives so far out that the FBI couldn't find her. He's happy there and she's happy with him.

Dino, the diagnosis of myasthenia gravis explains so many things. We had a friend back in South Australia who had it so we learned a bit about it then. It must be a relief to be able to put a name to all your baffling symptoms.
If there is anything I can do for you or you would like some company sometime, please don't hesitate to ask. I love the drive down to your corner of paradise.

Thanks for your note and forgiveness, Dino! Ian tells me you're a Buddhist nun. I supposed you were Buddhist but the screen name fooled me as to your sexuality. Do you live in a monastery? Tell me more about you. Thanks

Well, Dino, I see you've been diagnosed with myasthenia gravis. I have a friend and also a step-cousin, both of whom have the condition. They are both steaming along after several years, so I know there is a great deal of hope for you. I will certainly add you to my prayers.

Dino! I was visiting your flickr page and could stay there all day long! One favorite photo after another!
I saw lots of pictures of my old stomping grounds. I grew up in the SF Bay Area and spent 25 years in Monterey - visiting the Santa Cruz area often.
Thank you for the wonderful pictures!
Blessings to you!

Dino, sorry to hear about your problems and now that you have a diagnosis I hope they fix the problem quickly.
Thought of you a lot when we were in Malaysia as we saw so many Buddhist temples (although some were probably a slightly different following to you).
Said a prayer for you a couple of times. My thoughts are that there is one God, He just appears to different people in different ways. It means I can say a prayer in any Church, Temple etc and it should get to Him.
