Hi Dino, was just checking the 'guess the date' for Lauren's baby and noticed that your daughter and I have the same birthday! My niece too. I always tell my niece she'll have to pick another one as that date is taken and I had it first...

Wonderful macros, Dino. I love the tea trees, too. Thanks for the encouragement about the sudoku! It'll be quite a while before I turn the timer on even if it's only for me!

Ah, Dino, you must let go and meditate. Don't let misery overtake you. Remember the eightfold path, one of them is the right thoughts. Be comforted that friends send their wishes for your hurt friends. I'm sending a lot of cyberhugs for you and my wishes for calm to enter your heart. Smile when you see Ecie. She needs that bright ray of love through the haze of pain. Give her something to smile over. She'll remember it!

Dino, don't let the bad thoughts get a hold, stay positive. You have taught me to open my mind and think of others. If our thoughts go into a kind of collective one mind, we must try to only project bright and cheerful pictures so that those in need can take solace from the happiness we have added.

Yes, I had seen the photos of Ecie and her family. It made it easier to know who I was sending my healing thoughts to. I am so pleased she has been moved 'down' a stage to a less intensive area. These are all positive signs.
Bon voyage, my friend. Is it for a conference you are going?
All the best while you are away, I look forward to chatting when you return.
Keep smiling,
Gail

Dino, you're further down that path more than anyone I know! I've been trying to start my meditation while driving home after a trying day, when I feel I'm not getting to a child or to his/her parents. I know it sounds dangerous but I take in more of my surrounding. In noticing for potential hazardous situation and not thinking of anything else, I found more beauties like a tiny flower shop hidden beside more prominent buildings, the garden around a shopping mall! I come home happier and calm. I hope to go to Australia when I retire. When I do, I'd like to visit you and discuss more about Buddhism and see it through your eyes. In the mean time let's have this cup of tea

Diino, thank you for visiting my page & repeating the website for Ecie. I had forgotten to bookmark it & had no idea what day to go back to on the Sudoku site to find it in comments. It's good that you now have it posted on your page so others smarter than me will be able to find it here!!! I'm so glad William posted those pictures of Ecie. She looks like a warm & wonderful person. I left a note on the message board to tell him that & to let him know that I think he writes so well in his blogs. He must be a very intelligent, sensitive & caring person. I feel I am learning a lot about Buddhism through you & Ecie & him which is helping me prepare for a trip to China & Tibet in May. I hope that your beliefs & practices will help you & your friends deal with this horrible tragedy.

Dino: I posted this a long time ago, and thought it might be of interest...
to SP from Canberra From Ian/Boston
SP: In response to your question, I posted this comment yesterday on hard, but with this picture, I can't resist...This is exactly the spot I was talking about. (There are several like it as you go up Mt. Tamalpais.)
I did a lot of business entertaining when I lived just north of San Francisco (Mill Valley).
Depending on how much time my guests/clients had, I would schedule various tours. If all you've got is a couple of hours, you can visit Muir Woods, and go up Mt. Talampais, stopping at the most-photgraphed view of the Golden Gate Bridge and the city of San Francisco itself.
If you have a half day, continue on to Point Reyes National Seashore and see the coast and the Tule Elk (google both of them). A full day lets you go up to Bodega Bay, where Hitchcock's ''The Birds'' was filmed. If you have more time, stay there overnight and go over the mountains to the wine country the next day; use the Silverado Trail, but don't overlook Sonoma, less visited than Napa Valley.
If five days is available, go back south of the city and head down to Salinas (John Steinbeck territory) and over to the coast and spend the night in Cambria. Come back up to the city through Big Sur, Monterey and Carmel.
Those two coastal-inland loops always found favor, with my guests taking many pictures and talking about it for years after.

Welcome home, I hope Ecie is doing well, I think she has a long road ahead of her. I also think her husband's writing is fantastic and well worth a book.

Hello Dino. I'm sure you are glad to be back home, but have you gotten over the jet lag yet? I have just quickly checked out your photos, but I will come back and post some comments. I'm glad you got to see more then just the 'little boxes' while you visited. What was your overall impression of your short trip to the US? Glad to hear that Ecie is making progress. Cheers! ...CG

Hi dino...Welcome back. I'm glad you had a good trip to our country and got to meet Shosho and Keith. If you are ever on the east coast of the U.S, I'd like to get to meet you also. I enjoyed your gallery pictures, especially those of Jasmine...she's a real cutie.
I checked on Ecie while visiting you and I'm so glad to read of such improvement in her condition. Her hubby does a marvelous job with his blog. I do hope her outcome from her latest surgery has the same positive results as the others did. I will continue to include all of you in my prayers.

I'm glad, sniff, sniff, that you're back, sniff sniff, safely at home sniff sniff. I don't miss sniff sniff you sniff sniff, really. I guess I must make a trip to Australia soon. I will be retiring in four years, so I'll be able to come ("Oh no, oh no must brace the country, sound the alarm!) . Hey I heard that!
Take care and think of me occasionally (that ought to give you a good laugh now and again).
