Wow, I didn't realise you were about to go over to a new page, and without any effort too.
Now I've missed my exercise for the day pushing and heaving you to your new page.

Hello Greg, and thank you for visiting me and for the compliments both given and implied, as yes, Bethany is our elder daughter, and she spent Xmas at her boyfriend's in Tumbarumba last year. They are now living in Coffs Harbour, and we are going up to see her this weekend, which is a long one here (Queen's birthday).
I have only been able to put a couple of pics on yet, as they were sent to me by email, but we are to buy a scanner/printer this week, so will hopefully be able to do a lot more then!

Hi Greg, and thanks for visiting my page, glad you liked the baseball gig, don't know much about hockey except they play on ice, play with sticks and pucks, have only 3 periods, and have lot's of fights. checking and so on, am still learning, about the game, the same with cricket, almost have tennis down as my wife was an avid tennis player, thanks for visiting.

From Charter News:
Now that the Anaheim Ducks have that elusive road win, they are ready to do what they do best: close things out at home. Twice the Ducks have reached the Stanley Cup finals and both times they were perfect on home ice and inept in enemy territory. That all changed in Canada's capital city on Monday and set up an NHL-style beach party.
....
Ottawa's home victory in Game 3 on Saturday night received a 1.1 national rating and a 2 share, NBC said Tuesday. The rating was down 31 percent from last year's Game 3 between Edmonton and Carolina.

At least now that they are back on the West Coast, the start time reverts to 5 p.m. PDT to accommodate TV viewers back East — however few might be watching.

I'll be watching - will you! Go Ducks
(I am an old Kings fan (had season tickets till about a year before they got Gretsky) - moved north about 12 years ago, so I still have to cheer for the Western Teams. Go DUCKS!

Thanks for stopping by my page. I've felt a bit lonely lately. I guess I've stayed away from the site way too long.

Thank you so much Greg. Your beavertail was one of the reasons I finally took the plunge. Saw them in a stall at a country market recently and I instantly knew what they were! Didn't buy one though because I wanted yours to be the first one I tried and it is SCRUMPTIOUS.

Greg the apples were scrumptious, your other gift went down really well with my husband who has a sweet tooth. Many thanks, all I can offer you is a homemade pumpkin fruit cake. The photos are not mine, when I was trying to set up a page they got there by mistake,(mine). I have tried to get my own photo there but they keep drifting off into the ether. Will keep learning and trying, one day you will see my handiwork.

As I watched the game, with 15 minutes left, I remebered the greatest game I ever saw, and your statement song Dream the Impossible Dream. Here have another beer to drown your tears. As I tell you about the Miracle on Manchester.

It was in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and the lowly Kings were playing the Edmonton Oilers(in their Hay Day - defending their Stanley Cup). At the end of the 2nd period the Oilers were up by five (5) goals. In the greatest 20 minutes of hockey, the Kings managed to tie the game with less than a minute left on the clock. Oiler players actualy layed down on the ice. As the game went into OT, you just knew that the Kings would win - and they did. Not only that game but the series - of course the Kings loss in the next round. This had to be the greatest hockey game I ever attended. It was after that we got season tickets. The first hockey game I ever saw was the LA Blades (pre-Kings non NHL) vs. the Detroit Red Wings. I immediately fell in love with the game - the speed and finess. It was even fater than basket ball.

My husband taught me his love for football a game I barely understood, but he had been raised on. When the Dodgers game to LA we went to their games before Dodger Stadium was built - the players were Duke Snyder, Gim Gilliam, Johnnie Roseboro, Wally Moon, Johnny Padres, Don Drysdale & Sandy Koufax. During the summers, Saturday nights when they were in town we could be found in the Upper Deck (Women Gen'l Adm. 1/2 price). When the Lakers came to LA (I understood Basketball), we would head over to the Sports Arena to watch Wilt Chamberlin, Jerry West, Elgin Baylor, Rudy Larusso, Hot Rod Huntley & Pops Selvey play. We also took in UCLA Basketball during the Wooden era and watched as Gail Goodrich, Keith Erickson and Walt Hazard graduated to the pros and become Lakers, followed by Karem Abdul Jabar. But, that first hockey game - blew me away and starated my love for the sport. Here - have another beer.

The owner had moved the Lakers to the Forum in Inglewood - much longer drive (driving to downtown LA was bad enough - but out to the airport was even further), but he brought in an NHL team - the Kings. So rather than going to Basketball games at the Forum - we went to the hockey games. We cheered for the Triple Crown (Marcel Dion, Charlie Simmer & Dave Tucker) and our great goalie Roggie Vaschon. I especially love the games against Montreal - where the games were finess, rather than the Flyers (Broad Street Bullies) with deserved penalties. As I told you the other day, we had Season Tickets - center ice, directly across the ice from the press box. Each year the price of the tickets went up (just as the Laker tickets were - that were winning, even the parking and concession prices were being raised - and most of the time we would have the long drive home depressed from another loss - even when they did play well. As true fans we joined the cheer of 'Let Marcel Go' - we w

Got cut off - The rest of the story:
As true fans we joined into the chant of 'Let Marcel Go'. We wanted him traded to a team that had a chance to win the Stanley Cup. It was obvious that the Kings were not about to win one. The owner was only really interested in the Lakers. Alas, he was traded- but not to a team with even a chance. He later sold the Kings and a new owner that brought Gretzky to the team. The price of tickets went up even higher. The real city I feel sorry for is Edmonton - they had such a great team and Poklington sold off most of the players. I could see a hit being placed on him.

There is nothing like being at a Hockey game - TV just can't catch the action and speed. The same problem exists with Basketball. But, at some of the places these games are played you are so far away from the court or ice - that you really can't see anything. Football is probably better on TV, with the close ups and replays, and I now find Baseball boring.

Here is a towell, blow your nose and wipe up the spilled beer. At least your team made it to the finals - the Kings never did. Be happy for the Ducks - it is their first Stanley Cup. They had only made it to the finals once before (last year), they are the first team on the West Coast to win the Stanley Cup. Join me in lifting one to the Ducks, they deserve our congratulations. Remember there is always next year. This is the Ducks' next year. Cheers - to the Mighty Ducks.

Greg, sorry about the Senators. I only watch hockey during the Olympics, but I was rooting for the Senators. Yesterday was not good for our HS baseball team either. They were in the State playoffs and had to play Plattsburg. Monday's game was postponed. They went there Tuesday (3 hour trip) and were told the field was flooded. They had to go back yesterday (in a school bus because they already used their $ for a good bus the day before). My son's best friend was the starting pitcher and they were winning 7-1 but he dove for a ball and dislocated his shoulder and had to be taken to the hospital. They ended up losing 7-8 in the bottom of the last inning. Our school is small but we have to play up two divisions. My son's graduating class is 30 and we play against schools with over 300 graduating.

BTW, thanks for the visit. I haven't been around for a week because I'm getting the house ready for the graduation.

Have a good day! The Senators will get it next year!(unless they're against NY)

In return I've left a tin of home made ANZAC biscuits (bit more austere, but I couldn't cook anything richer after THAT fudge beavertail! I've visited your page a few times & really enjoyed it.

Hi, Greg. Thanks for the thought. Yes, I'm too busy being grumpy while trying to earn a living in spite of customers and suppliers.
I've even missed out on my daily puzzles a few times!
The silver lining is that a friend found THE most gorgeous chocolate shop and bought me some.

Hello Greg , thank you very much for asking , yes i am fine and my family , but it took so long , and with the explosions , every body is tense . People continue their daily chores and ask about explosions at night , there was one last night , and it takes us time to call each other when that happens .I had my youngest out last night ,somewhere near the place . It is tiring to feel afraid the whole time .The army are doing their best , and the police searches people in all the malls and hospitals , every where you go ta a parking lot , they search the cars .They are talking about a peace solution for the north , i don't know how that could happen ,but i pray for any solution .Thanks again CG ,you are sweet.

Hi Greg, I was just dropping by to see how you were going towards your 1000 comments and I spotted your YouTube of the Seekers singing that wonderful song. Thank you for selecting a song which is near to my heart. For my part, I have a clip of a talented Australian guitarist, Tommy Emmanuel. Last week I tried to introduce a bit of 'Kulture' by selecting the hauntingly beautiful male duet from the Pearl Fishers, but it didn't attract any attention so I took it off.
Anyhow, all the best for your '1000th', I will be watching with interest. Cheers.

Hello Again, CGreg: I woke up and read your note again. Thank you for the un-birthday wishes.
MizT has been an enormous help with the smilies and avatars; and thru the grace of some people, including you, I have borrowed a few.
Pictures of me will have to be the old ones; the only recent ones I've had taken were at my son's wedding, and that was just 4 weeks after I had open-heart surgery, so I don't share them. I'll have to go back and see what I can find, but my son is not much help with the pix, so I'm pretty much on my own and we don't have too many photos on the computer so I'll have to see if I can figure out how to enter them. Bear with me, I'm very computer illiterate.
Have a great week. Hope your weekend has been going well. Sorry about the Senators' loss.
