Am I giving away my age to say John Denver is one of my favourites? Very belated condolences on the Senators' loss - I've lived in & around Toronto for years but grew up in Ottawa, so my loyalty still lies with your teams. Just 2 posts to go!

Neat! I remember seeing him live in a town, Redondo Beach, at the Lighthouse (long since closed) near me when I was in college. That was when he first started. Whoa that ages me doesn't?

I'm glad you have finally done it and that Anne was the one to push you over. That must be some sort of record in Sukudo circles.
The band on my YouTube is 'Crowded House', an Aussie group (I think they were Kiwis actually) who gave a farewell concert at the Sydney Opera House before breaking up some ten or more years ago. My kids attended the concert and I think a few tears were shed. But it seems like they have reformed again (probably ran out of money - or is that being too cynical) and are producing good music again. Glad you enjoyed it.

Hi Greg - I thought I would stop by and see how you are doing. It has been warmer here this week. (Last week we had a fire in the fireplace one day to take the chill out of the air.) We put air conditioners in our bedrooms in the summer, but so far we haven't needed them this year. (We have hot water heat with not duct work.) We also have an attic fan and that helps cool the house down in about 15 minutes, Usually.

Hey, I brought you a smoothie. It is pineapple, bananas and ice cream. I hope you enjoy it.

Have a great evening!

Hi Greg - for the beavertail pastry - love them but I haven't had one in years. Yes, I've been lurking on & off for some time now. Usually by the time I get online there are too many posts to read but I couldn't resist when there was a picture of the Maldives the same day I had called my travel agent to arrange a trip there.
I'm in south-east Mississauga, just north of Lakeshore so I have a good view of the lake from my condo. On a clear day I can see St.Catherines (I think). Are you an Ottawa native? I went to Laurentian H.S. 'way back when...

Hello Greg - I remember the song from years ago and most of the singers. A few I didn't recognise but perhaps it was more in my daughter's (Rebecca) era.

About Cowboy Crush

This all-woman country group Cowboy Crush are one of those bands that came up the 'you've just got to see them,' word-of-mouth way. Sweet harmonies and talented musicianship helped too, but when your very first gig lands you 50 bookings, you've got to chalk it up to their firecracker performances. Trenna Barnes (lead vocals), Renae' Truex (fiddle, mandolin), Becky Priest (vocals, keyboards,)and Debbie Johnson (vocals, bass) had all been knocking around Nashville in different bands before they came together in March of 2003. It was in October that year they decided to take their music public and accepted an offer to play the International Entertainment Buyers convention. The 50 bookings were a result of this, but it wasn't long before Cowboy Crush would leave behind the world of trade shows and take it to the big arenas. Opening for headliners like Travis Tritt, Lonestar, and Trace Adkins along with playing numerous festivals brought an amazing 1,700,000 visitors to their website. It didn't take long for the record companies to take notice, Asylum/Curb being the organization to get the girls to put pen to paper. In May of 2005 the label released the single 'Nobody Ever Died of a Broken Heart' and soon it was climbing country radio play lists while the video was getting numerous airings on the CMT network.

CG, I remember Cathy's Clown, and the Everly Brothers. OK, grew up in a small town that was behind the times. also have been know to go to oldies concerts. Love the innocent, fresh scrubbed look on the kids, the girl chewing her gum in time to the music. I've been to son#2's choir concerts. Not so squeaky clean these days!

Too young for the Everley Brothers? Maybe just a little, but I did use to listen to them whilst I was revising for my 'O' levels 20 years ago.

Hi, CG! Thank you for multiple visits and the chocolate beavertail pastry! Have recently spent almost 2 weeks minus computer, so have been trying to catch up - at least comments on Easy, doing puzzles & jigsaws, even trying to read SO many pages of Sudokuaholics Anonymous. When I get a chance, I try making an avatar, but still no luck.
Sorry about the Anaheim Ducks beating the Senators - maybe next year. (Chicago sports fans have been saying that for more years than we care to remember.)
I'm leaving a FEW daylilies to brighten your place. The deer who travel through our yard get most of them, so we need to be quick to catch a bloom. Here's a big box of Frango Mints to share with your MANY visitors. They were once made in Chicago at the former Marshall Field department store and are somewhat synonymous with Chicago. Enjoy!

This is like telepathy - I quickly went to my page to check something and wanted to send you a message about the suitcase being in Canada. Your posting was already on my page. The letter from the Air Canada person was so nice. Something like - 'your suitcase enjoyed a beautiful sunny day in our beautiful city, etc, etc, etc' I haven't seen it personally, but my dad read it to me over the phone! Anyway, I think it is amazing!

Hi Greg. It seems we criss-crossed Ontario in opposite directions. I also did uni in Waterloo (co-op math '72) followed by a couple of years in North York, 12 years in London Ont., then back to GTA. I'm actually in Port Credit - fun little shops are just within walking distance.

Greg I have to say thanks for the Monkees flashback. I loved that song when I was a tad younger than I am now but I have to say that what were they thinking. Those clothes, haircuts and worst of all Davy Jones dancing!!! Seriously tragic.

CG, I wanted to make you aware that for the last several years, Canada has been a high priority for myself and my family. One of my wife's and my favorite cities to visit is Victoria on Vancouver Island. My daughter and her family lived in Vancouver (Port Moody) for a year and a half, so we got to know Vancouver pretty well then. Tomorrow morning, my wife and I leave for a train trip around the Canadian Rockies. We'll start in Vancouver and go to Whistler, Quesnel, Jasper, Lake Louise, Banff, Kamloops, and back to Vancouver. Then we will take a side trip to Edmonton to see the Great Mall there. We get back home July 1. Next October, we will be coming to your area and plan to visit Quebec, Montreal, Toronto and Niagara Falls. I'm open to working out a way to meet you someplace for coffee or whatever if that's possible.
