Hi Elsie...I can't believe that I haven't been here before now...I can't find a comment, but I seem to recall some of your pictures, But if I haven't I should have been....please forgive my delay in a written welcome to your page. I've enjoyed your photo gallery very much.
I'm going to leave you some goodies that have made my birth city of Philadelphia famous....it contains soft pretzels, Cheese Steak sandwiches, Orange soda, twinkies and Philadelphia Cream Cheese. I'm also going to leave a bottle of wine from the area...hope you enjoy.

Elsie. I thought the Anesthetists Hymn was going to be on your page, but when I didn't find it here I went to Search on you-tube. Found two different versions, one a live performance, the other a voice only with funny accompanying pictorials. Very clever lyrics, I got a kick out of it & sent it on to my son-in-law who is a nurse anesthetist! Thank you. Hope all is well in Strath.

Hooray for you, Elsie! You learned how to put the You-tube on your page. Next you will be inspired to learn to make an avatar for yourself. Mamacita2 & Dorthea are my inspiration - I figure if they can learn at their age then I should be able to learn, too! However, I have drawn the line at creating lots & lots of cute personal smilies like so many have done. There just aren't enough hours in a day & too many other things I'd rather be doing. for example!!!

Elsie I have had two pituitary tumours removed, both via the nose. The worst part is the damage to the optic nerves, a lot of pressure is put on the nerves when they force the tumour out. I would have prefered they had removed it via a cranial hole. If they go in via the nose she will wake up in ICU with plugs in her nose, they stay for 24 hours. She mustn't blow her nose or sneeze. If you want to know any more just ask.

Hi Elsie, I checked with my sister (couldn't find s-i-l today, she was out) and my sister tells me that her tumour was originally diagnosed as the Pituitary adenoma (she had some but not all the symptoms - diminished visual field and short term memory loss) but closer to the op they realised hers was different and more tricky. She breezed through it - I do hope all goes well with your Mum - it's a worry for you and your whole family. Take care.
I did notice that a couple of other people have had some experience with this (Lynda was one) - hope they can help better than I could.

Elsie - just reading Lynda's post reminded me - my s-i-l had her op through a cranial hole rather than nasal and they told her that was preferable. However, I suppose you don't get a choice, they get to it the best way they can.

hi there, in response to your question - one of my friends had a tumour on her pituary gland, discovered when she was 19. Treatment through her nose and mouth to remove it was unsuccessful and she went through a lot of radiotherapy. She went on to have three children, despite the radiotherapy and almost thirty years later she's still on the go, bright and cheerful and enjoying life. Hope this helps you stay positive.

Hi Elsie: So glad your mother's surgery went well. Hope they can find something else to control her pain and she recovers in a timely manner. Is your Dad better now that she's out of surgery? I'll bet he won't be completely settled until she's better and back home.
Thoughts and prayers continue for you all.

Hi Elsie,
Sending you love and hugs as you deal with your mum and her surgery, and keeping your dad's spirits up. As you'd have seen last night I have just arrived home with my mum who's going to live with us. There are lots of health issues and problems (and their poor management in Coffs Harbour) to iron out, need to get assessments done so that we can get the aids we need for her to be a bit independent in her (granny flat) room that's joined to the rest of the house.
Good luck, and take care of YOURSELF too, as my friends keep reminding me.

Elsie, I hope you were able to get some sleep last night. I know it is not easy when you are over-tired and stressed. How is Mum today? Probably more to the point, how is Dad today?!
Take care of yourself,
Thinking of you,
Gail

Elsie, thanks for your kind thoughts, looks like you and your mum have been through quite a bit too, hope she is improving. I never expected such a response from this site, everyone’s concern and caring has overwhelmed me. I can only say that it is the genuine people here who make this a very unique place to share our hopes, dreams, ups and downs.
Take care,
Broni

Hi Elsie,

Sailing through the Whitsundays ranks up there with some of my all time favourite holidays! So sad to hear you didn't like it! Was it the sailing or the Whitsundays? Would you have preferred a quick motor boat ride to each of the venues?

Got to go. I've only got 4 children to your 5 (though we are contemplating another) but one of them is stinky and sitting in my lap at the moment!

Thank you Elise for making my birthday a special one.
Many sudoku friends from around the world coming to visit me and wishing me a Happy Birthday have overwhelmed me.
My Husband and sons took me out to dinner to a Chinese Restaurant, and on the Sunday, we had a delicious Roast Dinner at MIL’s.

Hello Elsie - I remember checking your photos a long time ago and there seem to be some new ones, am I right.
They are great photos and you have a lovely looking family that you must be very proud of.
And yes, your beaches are almost as nice as our Middleton Beach!

Hi Elsie,
You have a Mac already? Thats great then.
Not sure what the outright cost of the IPhone would be if you do not hook up with a plan.
But you can investigate all that.
