Hi, Eve! Thanks for the message! Sounds like an interesting wedding! I must say, though, that I don't understand the big bucks people spend on weddings these days! Glad Bennie is still surfing! My water activities these days consist of swimming, kayaking, and boogie and body boarding! I got attacked by a Portuguese man of war in Florida years ago as I was paddling out on a surfboard. I had a very adverse reaction - went into shock and then suffered from the pain and later, extreme itching where the tentacles had wrapped themselves around my leg. So that ended my surfing career! I figure if I stay close enough to shore, I can see danger before it gets to me!

Eve, I'm so glad to hear that your mother was able to share your birthday with you, she sounds like a wonderful woman. It sounds like your cousin's wedding turned into quite the adventure and a nice memory to look back on. I hope that you are feeling fully recovered from lay over at the park so that your back is as happy as your dog. Take care.

Eve: Too political to post on Easy, and possibly offensive to some. Think politics. Think possible terrorist bases and funding from within Pakistan. Think US presense in both contries and the cooperation required to fight Bin Laden. Think of the ongoing fight for Kasmir. But most of all, think plain old stupidity and religious/racial differences.

Hi Eve: Natalie MacMaster is one of our most well-known Canadian artists. She is a traditional east coast musician and started off pure Celtic. She was presented with an Order of Canada last year by our Governor-General.

By the way, I know she (MacMaster) has branched out into blues, jazz, etc. Has she appeared at one of your concerts?

Eve, wasn't me, and I don't have a brother. Over the years, I've heard of several "look alikes" for me. Yes, I've love classical guitar for many years. John Williams is my favorite, with Julian Bream a close second, but Fisk and Barrueco are close behind. My wife and I went to a concert yesterday evening in a small theater on private property in Potter Valley, CA., in a relocated and restored barn that used to belong to Frank Howard (of Seabiscuit fame). The featured act was a Bluegrass group that calls themselves the Dry Branch Fire Squad. Heard of them? They put on a great show.

ha! that was wonderful seeing your msg in my page..it is nice to know that my pic kindled some pleasant memories..and regarding your query abt the flora/fauna, well I must admit I was ignorant!! I was like too much excited perhaps to observe anything of that sort..the rich foliage was one glaring thing that caught my eye..the equatorial climate has really made the forest too rich.. and the temp drops to freezing level at the top of the mountain..lot of fog and mist add to the already chilly weather..the casino in the genting highlands is the one that appears in all Jackie chan movies I was told!!

Eve, if you're interested, do a Youtube search for Dry Branch Fire Squad. They have a number of clips posted, some ok quality, some quite poor. They do some rousing gospel songs as well, and the handbones bit is quite funny. He's the band leader, main spokesperson, comic, probably the best musician, though they're all good.

Hi Eve--yes, I'm placing myself firmly in God's loving hands. I've been granted miracles before--perhaps He'll see fit to bestow another one on me and give my mother some more time with us. She's making amazing progress and we're delighted, though the possibility of another stroke always looms. My mission continues to be to keep her happy, comfortable and feeling loved. Not a difficult task, especially when I've got the support of such a caring group of friends from places near and far. How lucky can one person be? I count my blessings.

Eve, El Shaddai is one of my favorite all time songs. I saw Amy Grant way back in 1985 at Red Rocks Amphitheater here in Denver. She is an amazing performer. Enjoy the concert!

Eve, thanks so much for visiting my page with the flowers and your strawberry cream cheese pie. I hadn't really been aware of having a page until your visit. And please forgive my delayed response. It's not due to my incredible rudeness, but rather because we've just spent August at our cabin in Manitoba. We barely have electricity there, let alone internet, so we'd left our laptops at home. And yes, I guess we live in the 'big' Vancouver, although I hope, in its heart, it still retains some of the charm it had when it was small. Thanks again, for your greeting.

Eve...I think the young lady has a big voice, but it can't be compared to Whitney's in any other way. I can see the Brittney connection, only because she's young and cute...at least she has selected a great song unlike some of today's young singers AND you can understand the lyrics..she should do well. An intriguing critique.

Eve I've seen Darryl perform twice. He puts on a great show and invites all the people up to the edge of the stage.
My daughter turned 30 on the dreadful day. I certainly remember when it happened.

EVE, thanks for visiting my page and for the comments on the quilts. The names were actually written on ALL the blocks, I had forgotten. I saw when I uploaded the close up photo of the quilt. I did change that in the narative about the quilt. There are 3 more photos of the quilt up now, you might want to return and see.

OH, you also asked about my patriotic wall hanging. The center ribbon star block is 12 inches, and finished it is about 25x25, it is hanging today , another patriotic day at my house.

Hello Eve, A beautiful tribute to all the soldiers. Even if we don't agree with the reasons they are fighting, they still need and deserve our respect and support.

Oh dear, Eve.....it never entered my head that my silly words would be taken seriously and that somebody may be caused distress. I am so sorry. Of course, I am fortunate that my daughter, her husband and little daughter live only 5 minutes from me, so I don't have that same never-ending loneliness that you might sometimes feel. All I can say is that it was meant as a joke and that we Aussies have a tendency not to take life too seriously, but I must be more careful in future to choose my words more carefully. Cheers!!

Dear Eve, You sound like a very brave lady to have moved to live somewhere else after you lost your husband. That's something that I would never contemplate, even if I didn't have family here. I would be too worried about meeting people, fitting in, etc, but it seems like you have managed that fine. Your mother sounds like she's dynamite to be still doing what she's doing at her age. I take my hat off to her. My own Mum died at 82 but she was very sick. I wish she had had a better old age. Cheers, Kate

Eve, Thanks for the visit and for the reminder that 'Redskin' is a politically incorrect term, but that is a part of the Washington DC team's official name, therefore, I used it. As one who shares Indian roots, I am aware of the efforts to decrease the use of demeaning names, and I try, but I do think that sometimes a name is just a name, and if no demeaning actions are included, or intended, one needs to just move on. I too follow college football and feel its a purer game...I choose to support Penn State University, and we have had pretty good luck over the years. Do come and visit again. I do appreciate hearing your views. Peace.

I meant to thank you for the 9-11 tribute and links you have shared, including your efforts to remind all to be appreciative of the young folks who give so much to keep us free. Its been a special plea to all, no matter how one feels about war itself! Keep up the good work!

As a long time Johnny Mathis fan...thanks. I have every album I believe he has recorded and many of his songs also on cds. One of my favorites is that of religious songs....just beautiful. Have you heard it? I'll check out the title if you are interested. Interesting concert experience and a great introduction to that world. Wish I had been in your shoes, although I have been fortunate to meet Johnny on several occassions. Music makes the world turn round for me, and I believe you share my love of it, along with some others here.

Eve, I see you live in a beautiful area - one of my favorites. I had the good fortune to work in Portland for a short time, and made time to visit different parts of the state.

Thank you for the strawberry cream cheese pie - wonderful! I'll try very hard to share it with my guests. And it goes well with the pink camelias, even smeared on my face as it is . . .

Eve, thank you for your remarks about the quilts I've made. Due to a serious (unrecoverable) HD crash, I don't have photos of any I made before March 2006. (Stupid me did not back up anything!) That stack-and-whack quilt would make anyone dizzy!
Do you quilt?
