Debbie - I'm going out for my second time to shovel the driveway -- it's coming down - it's a wet snow - but wasn't to bad - but seems like it will be bad tomorrow. How, they are talking about Rain!! on Monday - man, it's been an wild ride this winter - snow, rain - massive winds - ice, snow, snow, snow the then rain. I'm in for the night - going to exercise by shoveling -- take care and look out for the weather coming up to you. Mary

Hello from sunny, warm South Florida, where it is 79F with a nice south wind. Groundhog or not, spring is here!
Jupiter is on the Atlantic Ocean, about 90 miles north of Miami Int'l Airport. If you draw a line due east from the center of Lake Okeechobee, where that line meets the Atlantic is Jupiter's location. The St. Louis Cardinals play their Spring Training games here in Jupiter.

Debby, we're up to our ankles in slush here today and are waiting for some more freezing rain. Side streets are a mess. We haven't had much of a winter yet, though--not a lot of snow, so my snowshoes are gathering dust in the basement. We've skied a few times in Ellicottville, NY, and followed the snow to Banff; we'll seek it out again in Vermont in March. I find myself missing the winters "of my youth" and have to giggle when meteorologists warn of the impending storms. A winter storm, to me, means whiteouts where you can't see three feet ahead and cars are sliding in the ditch despite crawling along the roads. We haven't had anything like that in years. Right now, a few flurries are falling ...
Hope all is well with you and that you're somewhere warm and safe, taking time for yourself.

Hi Debbt - Came by for a cup of hot chocolate. As the saying goes; "Baby, it's cold out there, -4 today and that's not the windchill factor - but the sun was out. Busy, doing nothing, I have a clothing exchange to get ready for - just a fund raiser at one of the schools - they sell children's clothes - seller get 70% schools gets 30%. When my children were at the school - I helped run it and worked it for the 10 years I was there - very organized and brings in the budget for the year. I really don't make that much - but it helps out. Going to see Wayne Newton this weekend with a friend - looking forward to a little fun, I really havn't gotten out lately. I hope you enjoy your week, Mary

Dear Debby, you are just in time for my birthday, it is really today, it is the sudoku who is a day early... for the wishes...a little secret just for you...André was born the same day and the same year as I. We are both 65 years young today.
André has one more treatment tomorrow and that is all. The doctor will see him in 3 months. He told André that the results were good ...and that within a month he would regain his energy. It is good news and thank you for your positive thoughts.

Hi Debby, Boy, the hot chocolate is good. How are things your way? Still have snow? we have had some off and on all winter none right now. Would rather have snow than ice and we have had our share of that this year.

Hi Debby! Wausau is about an hour from me. Green Bay is only about 40 minutes or so. They (news guys) just showed the snow total's for this winter. Green Bay has had 71 inches of snow. Last year at this time, they had just 16. Nice huh? Come check out my photo gallery to see what this latest storm left me.

Hope your son enjoys his new home & job. (Let's say it's a much smaller world than it was yesterday!) It's hard to let them go, but considering the travel time saved and being on the roads that much less, it's probably a good move.
My "baby" turned 31 yesterday! Hard to believe!

Hi Debby, I'm still in USA but have a laptop to catch up on family and friends. Ecie is doing well. The website on my home page is still relevant if you would like to check her progress. She now has operations to face but is out of intensive care. it will be long and painful haul back to health for her. It is so good to know that so many sudoku people are thinking of her.

Dear Debby, I did not mean to embarras you by my mentioning how cold it was, all I wanted to do was to say 'Hello' to you since you are in Michigan and I lived 7 years in Sault-Ste-Marie, Ontario. I feel a little closer to you. Recently I received an ugly message on my page from an anonymous person. Since then, I am a bit afraid to post comments. I am glad Garth put an end to that. I was happy to hear from you and I welcome you always. I am myself sick and tired of winter and cannot think of another month and a half of it. Have a great day!

Debby, thanks for your kind words. I was not fishing for compliments and I have no intention of leaving in the foreseeable future, but thanks anyway.
BTW, I love the photo of your house covered in snow - it brings back happy memories of our year in Canada. It never snows in Sydney but I love the snow and spent many of my youthful years skiing in the alpine regions of Australia.

Hi Debby, we lived in Kingston, Ontario through the full fury of a Canadian winter. We had great fun and although the kids had seen snow before while visiting their grandparents in UK, they had never seen so much snow before. The only climate I didn't enjoy was at the beginning and end of winter when the freezing rain came and made driving dangerous as all get out.
I was doing a course at the Canadian National Defence College in Kingston.

Hi Debby, Thank you for the warm chocolate chip cookies and the great hot chocolate!

I've lost count of how many times this winter that we've gotten more than a foot of snow! It seems like it never stops snowing. One storm is quickly followed by another. And almost every time I'm on the site and it's snowing here, it seems like it's also snowing in Michigan! I am so ready for Spring. My mom gave me a hyacinth in bloom a couple of weeks ago and it smelled sooooo good and Springlike!

Maine is a beautiful state. Most of the pictures in my gallery were taken somewhere in Maine. I hope you meet that goal, along with any others you have. A good friend of mine lived in Michigan a few years back, but I never made it out to visit her. Oh well! So little time.

Your home is lovely!

Debby, We are also expecting another storm this afternoon and lasting into tomorrow. This one is supposed to be mostly rain and freezing rain. After dropping to 10 below the other night, tomorrow will be in the 40's! I guess some of our snow will melt away. Spring is coming!

Hi Debby,

Thanks for your comments! Apple pie always sounds good, especially warm. We're relatively new to Michigan, but it's nice to be included as Michiganders. BTW, does that have anything to do with geese? So, I'm returning your pie plate with some banana bread, still warm from the oven. Enjoy!

Hi Debby Thanks for stopping by. Yes we did get hammered this weekend. A mere 22" to shovel (or snow blow in my case.) Richfield is halfway between Cleveland and Akron. Hubby is on a work trip so it is just me and 3 kids 6 years & under. Fortunately for me I have wonderful neighbors who helped my dig out!
