Hi Maureen, You asked where Winchelsea is in Australia - well I can't see that anyone has answered you so I thought I might. It is in Victoria appox 90km from Melbourne and 32km from Geelong. It is half way between Geelong and Colac and approx 20 - 30 km from the coast. It is a small country town approx 1500 - 2000 people) with all the facilities you could want. It is under the Surfcoast shire which governs Torquay Angelsea and many other coastal towns. It is one of the last places in this area to be close to the coast (but not on the coast) easy drive to a several major cities and houses are not YET too expensive ($140,000 - $450,000 range with great houses on 1/4 acre blocks for about $200,000). Look us up on google. OH and we are famous for being the place where rabbits were first released into Aus (yeah I know great being known for that eh hehehe). Hope I am not repeating what you already know. have a great day.

Hi Ruzz, thanks for the information about Winchelsea. I can't remember when I asked about it, was it to do with a jigsaw photo? I can't find your page so I replied here! Thank you.

Sorry Maureen I don't have a page, I should sign up and make one. I do have a myspace page - myspace.com/wormwoodbush I really can't tell you what your question was in relation to, as I only found it due to a google search - you know what it's like, search for one thing and find 1000's of other really interesting things to waste time on LOL. Thanks and sorry it took me so long to reply I had a bit of an internet hang up.

Hi Razz, I tried your myspace site but couldn't get any matches. Any clues how to get it? I am not very computer savvy!

Gday Maureen, I was just passing so I thought I'd drop in. I popped in to Kate's earlier with some Banana Muffins and a pot of coffee. I still have some more of those if you want them, otherwise, I have some Bailey's on crushed ice and after dinner mints if you would prefer. After all, the sun is most definitely over the yardarm.
Hope this note finds you and yours well. I love looking through your photo gallery, its like a trip down memory lane!

Hi Maureen, It's funny where the airforce leaves us kids. Mum and Dad were both Qlders and when Dad finally got posted to Amberley when I was 6, Mum decided she was staying put. Dad got posted back on to Melbourne and Sydney but we didn't go.
In 2006 we travelled to Victoria and I went to see where we had lived when I was 5. In March I went to visit my sister at Nelsons Bay and we went to visit Rathmines (on Lake Macquarie) where Dad was posted when I was born. We lived there until I was 3. Mum and I are visiting my sister next weekend and we will take her to visit the old base - there isn't much left there now though as it closed down in 1961.
The last time I was in Dubbo they had a really bad storm the night we left - damaged a lot of houses. I suppose it was probably 5-6 years ago now or maybe more. We had stayed the night before at a caravan park and gotten up early to do the morning walk at the zoo. It was a stinking hot day and extremely humid. We left in the afternoon and drove straight home listening to the radio about all the storm damage.

Hi, Maureen. Sorry it isn't one of your roses. It's Dave's from the River, but I think it's the same as your's - have a mental block & can't remember the name!

Ps
I forgot to say that the photos I took at the Sculptures last Wednesday are on Flickr (Sculpture by the Sea 2007 set) if you want to see them. Direct link http://www.flickr.com/photos/lightcliff/sets/72157603203430713/detail/

Also about the rose, the blue between the leaves is the river. His bush grows right at the front of his place just above the rocks at the edge of the river! Must love severe weather changes!

Hi Maureen, Thanks for visiting my page. I have just visited yours and loved your old family photos. I was taken back in time at the one at the Oasis. Of course it gone and forgotten now but it was the place to be in those days in Brissie. Lovely photo of your daughter in Paris. I love Dubbo too, we were there in 2006 and I want to come back with some of my grandchildren to the zoo.
Merry Christmas to you and yours

Thanks for your good sishes Maureen

May you and your family have a joyful Christmas with the traditional gifts of peace and hope (rather than tinsel and rampant consumerism)...I think it's more fulfilling in the long run.

I always do lemon cordial for Christmas pressies. Love that home-made feel. I used to have a lemon tree in Victoria but up here we have a lime. I'm actually going to make another couple of batches today and maybe mix some lemon and lime.... so here's yours
LEMON CORDIAL
Ingredients:
Juice of 7 large lemons
Grated rind of 5 large lemons
1 kg sugar
1.5 litres of water
25g citric acid
Method:
1.In a large pan, boil up sugar, water, grated peel and citric acid.
2.Take off the heat and add juice, If preferred, this may be strained.
3.Bottle whilst still hot into clean, sterilised (in oven ) bottles

Enjoy!!
