That's OK Mamacita for giggling the entire way through the Skype hookup. You have a lovely laugh anyway.

Hi Ouima! Thanks for the welcome home. I'm slowly catching up on Sudoku after our long trip. We came home with such wonderful memories of special people, places, sights, & sounds starting with San Francisco! Believe me I do count my blessings, especially after seeing the way so many others less fortunate in this world live. We Americans are SO spoiled. My 62nd birthday on Dec. 4 was one of my most exciting ever! It began when we watched the sun rise at Angkor Wat in Cambodia - unforgettable! But that was topped by the visit on the last day of our trip to the Tiger Temple. I have posted only one picture on my page so far, but I will try to whittle down the thousands of other pictures we took to just our favorites & post them on Flickr as soon as I can find time. I'll at least start with the ones of the SF gathering - it was so much fun, wasn't it! I'm very glad you made the trip & I finally had a chance to meet you. You are every bit as lovely as I had imagined you. There seems to be some special aura around you - even in what you write. I'm sure the upcoming holiday season is going to be sad for you this year without Sully. I wanted to give you a big hug in SF & tell you again how sorry I am for your loss, but the time never seemed quite right. I didn't want to put a damper on things since everyone wanted it to be a happy occasion, which it surely was. Rob & I hope that the love of your other family & friends & your God will surround you & give you comfort & peace at Christmas time & throughout the new year.
Please stay warm & well up there in the cold cold north!

Ouima, I hope you will check your mail at least once more before you leave for FL tomorrow. I had forgotten about your plans for Orlando! It will be so nice for you & your family to be able to spend this Christmas together in warm sunny Florida. I hope you can fly out on schedule & will arrive safely to enjoy all the usual Disney, Epcot, etc. tourist experiences plus your side trip to Cape Canaveral. Have a wonderful time.

Mama - hope you had a good Christmas with family. Sorry about Penn State (as a Bruin, I have a very difficult time cheering for the Trojans & have great respect for Paterno). It is always hard to say "maybe next year". so cheer hard for those Eagles - may they soar to the top - now - so there is no waiting till next year.

Well my goodness! I have just been told that "rooting" has a whole different connotation to the Aussies! Shame on them!
Since my poor Redskins went down the tubes, I am taking up the Eagles cause! Yes, indeed! I am "rooting" for them to-go-all-the-way!!
GO EAGLES!

Hello Mamacita - a belated very Happy New Year to you.
Thank you for your good wishes and sorry I've not extended mine sooner but I had my family staying over Christmas and the New Year and it didn't leave me much time to find my computer under the debris.
It was wonderful as it was the first time all seven of my grandchildren have been together so it was very special for me.
Take care and best wishes for 2009.

.
It was keeping you in my thoughts that gave me the strength to cope with my mother's passing, knowing how you have shown us that there is life after loss.
May all your days be wongerful.

Thank you Mamacita for your kind words of comfort. My Dad was ready to go as he hated knowing that he was losing his memory and felt that he was a burden to us at least now he is at peace.

Oh Mama..what a wonderful thing to do on Sully's birthday...that is exactly the sort of thing I would have done... I always raise a glass to departed loved ones on their bithdays. Could you 'feel' Sully with you as you made your preparations..he was certainly there in your heart. Your poor son...worrying about his mama...retail therapy AND cooking special birthday dinners...LOL...
My hubby always tells Lachie that his aim is to hang around long enough to repay all of the worry we have gone thru bringing him to this stage of his life...'payback'...he he....
[seriously tho I hope we can be better prepared and not cause Lachie as much grief in our dotage as our parents have caused us!]
