for the birthday wishes, Anne! I spent time with family. Trying to keep up with three little ones had me coming home for a nap. Fun, but, exhausting!

As our daughter is now living in Perth (and she's our only child) we are coming over for a visit that will last only 8 days as we have cats that cost a bit in the cattery. We have only seen her for a day in Melbourne last year so we are all looking forward to this.

If she stays there with her boyfriend and goes on from there, we are looking at moving over but only if she stays there. And the place where we will probably end up if that is the case is your home town as neither of us like cities and Albany looks a little like the south coast of SA which I know well.

For this trip though we are only going down to Bunbury and then Margaret River before returning to Perth where I intend to watch the Adelaide/Fremantle game at your new stadium. Our daughter's boyfriend's father (now that's a mouthful) while being a West Coast supporter has promised to take me to see that match (10 June) and on the next day we travel back East. I expect the Crows to win.

Hi Anne, thank you so much for your words of comfort. We are hoping that they got it in time for her to make a full recovery.
We have been through this before when we lost our 24 yr old son to cancer, as you can imagine I'm stressed out big time.

I come in and do a tough once or twice a week. I always smile when I see a comment by you or Greg. I just found that I was spending too much time on Sudoku. I have a bit of an addictive streak and use it as procrastination. Mind ou if it isn’t sudoku, it is something else.

I came south to Victoria to care fro my Mum a few years ago.2014. She has since died and I head into Arnhem Land for. a bit of teaching and then come back to support my disabled brother. Heading north again later this month.

Anne, thanks for the condolences. Yes, we had my Mom's memorial service today. She passed away three weeks ago (in Finland we take our time). We took consolation in the fact that her last few weeks being calm and peaceful, in comparison to the pains and anxieties she suffered from last summer. Her death was not unexpected at all, a few years in the overtime if anyting. But, we all have just one Mom, so in spite of everything today was an emotional day.

Thanks Anne, it should be a good day and I suspect it'll involve running at some stage! And thanks for the magpie Happy Birthday - they have to be close to being my favourite bird, so much personality and the most beautiful and varied song.

Hi Anne, belated apologies for not answering your message but I hadn't checked out my own page and thus was unaware that folk chatted on them.

Anyway, in answer to your question, we would have loved to gone to Albany; in fact, with our daughter now living in Perth we thought long and hard about moving there but decided against it because of the removal of the train service. The thought of a 6 hour bus ride to Perth is a distinct disincentive. However, we did get down to Margaret River and environs and loved what we saw.

On a sadder note, I also went to your new stadium in Perth and watched my team, the Crows, get beaten by Fremantle. C'est la vie.

So thank you for your message and once again please accept my apologies for not answering.
