Hi Anne, I know what you are talking about. Anne and I went on a little boat on the Murray some time ago and whenever I had a good photo lined us, someone would pop their head in my way. I got a bit cranky until I realised that they had just as much right to take photos as I did. The answer is to sit at the front - and be a nuisance to everyone behind you. (I think)

Hi Anne,

Thanks for your wishes. I'm still catching up as I was off the air for two weeks.

I was in country China basically seeing the old China but with lots of glimpses of the developing China. Quite impressive on both counts.

Regards
Jack

Hi Anne, I went to Guangzhou, Nanchang, Jiu Jiang, Mt Lushan, Jingdezhen, Wuyuan, Mt Sangingshan, Nanchang, Yichang, Shennongjia, Enshi, Yichang, Qingjiang, Jingzhou, Guangzhou and home. The development is everywhere and yes there are projects which seem abandoned. In the tourist areas there are projects ready for more tourists but not yet in use. Housing might be described as 'Little Boxes' (Pete Seeger) [tomorrow's slums] but they do house people. The smaller ethic groups are given opportunities to take part in the tourist trade and some do a great job. The Miao people put on a great show (play) about girls looking for marriage partners. all in all I picked the right tour to be part of though the lingua franca was not English.

Cheers
Jack

Thank you, Anne. I truly appreciate your thoughts and wishes. I'm just glad that my mom is in a better place, I have mourned already for years as the Alzheimers took her memories and herself.

Hi, Anne - As I mentioned on today's hard... it was sorta a challenge from Jack, so I decided to start 'trying' and find it's not as difficult as I originally thought it would be; now it's my personal daily test of wits!

THANK YOU!!! Dear Queen Anne, nearly fell off of my chair! Thank you for exalting me with a rank! I shall always be your lady-in-waiting! I hear English queens always had them! Didn't realize they could be a political tool as well until I saw Victoria!

Thank you so much Anne for your lovely Birthday wishes. I did indeed have a wonderful and very extended birthday, lunch and a few games with the Bridge girls on Thursday, lunch with the Friday Friends on Friday, and a big family dinner at night with all children and their partners, quiet dinner with hubby tonight, and Velvet with Marcia Hinds in the Speigaltent tonight!!! I am a very spoiled old girl now!!

Hi, Anne!

I just sent you a message, but it didn't appear on your page, so I'll try again!

Thanks so much for the birthday wishes! Bailey (my significant other) and I celebrated at the only restaurant open the day after Hurricane Irma roared through! We plan to go out for a second celebration tonight at our favorite seafood restaurant, Conchy Joe's, so we can enjoy the reggae music. We've become good friends with the band, so expect to have a great time!

I am hoping to bring Bailey with me on my next trip to Oz and will visit Western Australia, so I'll keep you in the loop. Would love to see you again! Bailey has some surgery coming up, so I'm not sure about the timing yet.

Hope all is well with you!

Much love,
Jane

Thanks Anne, I was very happy with the way I ran. It was definitely my most consistent marathon so far in terms of keeping a steady pace for the whole race. As you say, I had a couple of injuries going into it so to finish so close to my PB was quite heartening.

Anne, please forgive my curiosity, but based on your comments today, it seemed like you'd never before been to Sydney? Even though, based on previous comments, it seems like you've been almost everywhere else in the world?

Anne, in the cold hard light of day, I'm appalled at my early morning rudeness yesterday (when there's no other excuse, blame the earliness of the hour is my policy). Thank you for responding to my nosiness with such grace and kindness.😔
