Woohoo Jane, a very to you. I've brought along a bottle of Aussie bubbly and a Choc Mud (as if we need more chocolate after Keith's!) and a bunch of daffodils from my garden to help you celebrate.

Hello Jane - I just popped into to visit and you're not here so I'll just make myself at home and try one of these crabcakes. Mmmmm, they are delicious.
Just been browsing through your photos and St. Simons Island looks like a lovely place and very pretty.

Hi Jane! Did you win your tennis match? I hope so. I just love the name of your team - the Guardian ANGLES. How clever is that!!! Rob & I went to a big gathering of USTA captains from the Florida Section, Region 3 yesterday. They tried to form teams & do some round robins, but it wasn't too successful & it rained besides, so we had to move on to eating & drawing door prizes. Rob won a $25 restaurant gift certificate. I got nothing. But they did give very nice gifts to ALL the captains - USTA logo thermos sets & really nice leather portfolios. Played some mixed doubles this morning with a nice couple we're getting to know. I also have women's matches scheduled for the next four days in a row! Yikes - I hope my body holds up. I'm gonna need lots of ibuprofen this week.

Since we are both such fans of Raspberry Chipotle, Jane, I thought I would check in with you for an F&W update, you tong-wielding wench, you! We have never suffered from an absence of the sauce at our Costco, and I was wondering if yours had worked it out, too, so you didn't have to order online. In addition, our Costso is now carrying F & W "Mango Ginger Habanero Sauce." We bought some but have yet to try it. Have you? (I'll check back here for your response, if you deem your wounded joust-mate worthy of notice!) :)

Hey, Judy - Hope your wounds are healing nicely! Let me baste them with a little Mango Ginger Habanero Sauce! Hehehehe!

Seriously, I haven't been to Costco in quite awhile. We're 75-80 miles from Jacksonville (where the nearest Costco is located), so we only get there about once every two or three months. Last time we were there, they didn't have the Raspberry Chipotle sauce. When I ordered it online, I also got the Mango sauce, and it is excellent also. I used it on a pork tenderloin that we grilled on the Weber. The raspberry chipotle remains my all-time favorite "store-bought" barbecue sauce, however. I actually got a good deal online through Amazon. The cost was only a little higher than Costco's, and there were no shipping charges. So I bought a case of each - which should last me a few months!

The Jacksonville Costco is kind of strange (actually, the ones in Richmond were, too) - they stop selling charcoal around Labor Day. Like people don't cook out year round in the South?????? We certainly do. In fact, we do more grilling in the winter than the summer. And we love to cook our turkeys on the Weber.

Anyway, thanks for the update! I'll keep my eyes open at Costco. I do prefer those extra-large jars of the sauce.

Take care!
Jane

Ouch! Habanero in my wound ... yikes!

I guess that we are lucky, as the nearest Costco is about 1 mile from us, and we can drive to three others within a half-hour. We purchase most of our meat there, along with many other goodies.

In San Diego, we grill 3-4 times a week outside, too, all year round. My husband was taking a lot of flack last week here in the mountains, as he grilled three nights in a row ... chicken, flank steaks, and mahi mahi ... in the snow! We'll try the Mango Sauce on pork very soon!

Until we duel again ... Judy

Jane, just grabbed myself a crab cake and stopped by to thank you for your kind words. Yep, having had both mom and dad suffer strokes, I'm ever vigilant. My blood pressure is excellent, and I try to walk, lift weights, in-line skate, golf and ski whenever I can. Never been a smoker, thank goodness, and I'm a healthy weight, so I hope I can outsmart such a horrible, frightening ailment. Hoping this finds you healthy and spending wonderful time with people you love. Thanks again, Jane, and I'll continue to buck up during these dark days.

I have seen problems with Snoopes & TruthorFiction. I am working on a controversy regarding what is being "taught" in tours of the US Supreme Court. Pastor DuBord of the Lake Almanor Community Church (No. Calif.) wrote an article about what he saw and heard on a tour last year on a Christian Heritage Tour of our Capitol and other historic sites.

Please check out his articles and letters to Snoopes and TruthorFiction and how they responded.

His website is: http://www.lacconline.org/

On the right hand side under "LACC Media" are his articles. All are very interesting. Since we are talking about Snoopes - I suggest that you START with "Snoopes responds with changes"

Once you read all of the articles, you will see that the history of this country is being rewritten and revised. Pastor DuBord has spoken out, got some coverage (not nearly enough) on what has/is happen(ing). Jamestown has now corrected their tour information when enough pressure was brought by citizens who cared.

In August I visited with him, to find out what changes had occured in the tours from last year to this year. Changes have not been made at either Monticello or the Supreme Court to date.

I hope you will join Pastor Todd DuBord in his fight to stop the banishment of this country's religious heritage.

Pastor DuBord recently accompanied Chuck Norris to Iraq (they were there during the Blackwater incident.

This year Pastor DuBord returned to Jamestown. The tour guides have been totally retrained. They now state all three reason's they came to America, begining with conversion of the Indians. Their guide books have been rewritten and they are expanding exhibits on the faith of the settlers.

Nothing near this has been accomplished yet at Monticello or the Supreme Court. The battle goes on.

It should be noted that the reason King James (of "King James Bible" fame) had written into the compact - conversion of the Indians, MAY well have been that this would be a protestant conversion. Florida was under Spanish (Catholic) control and the Indians as we know were being "converted" to Catholicism.

I hope you will join in the fight to keep our country's heritage truthful - the good & the bad - by making your friends aware of what is happening in our nation's capitol and historical sites - including the Supreme Court.

Jane, Thanks for checking in to make sure all is well. Sully is recuperating quite well. He had the staples removed yesterday, and is moving about very well with little or no pain, but I've been kept on my toes. No problem there, he's not a demanding person, and tries to look out for my interest as well as his own. I haven't been on site in part because of company, the baseball playoffs that have started, and catching up on stuff round the house....but all is well! I do get to come on site for short periods, but don't have time to really get involved. Several things such as Ian's recent comments and CG'S forum comments about page parties made me want to post, but other things intervened...perhaps its just as well! The site is in capable hands without my two cents always being included. Hope to have more time in the near future, but my calendar is really crazy for awhile. Know that I think of all and miss most of the gang....well all of the gang is missed....some more than others though....lol. I hope you can answer for me should some question arise that I don't see or fail to respond to, that all is well, Just BUSY, BUSY, BUSY!!!!! Thanks!

Well, Jane, what can I say? I'm weepy but I smile a little too. Mom was a heck of a lady and because I loved her so much, I knew I had to let her go home to God. Thanks for being such a caring and compassionate pal during all this. It really helps.

To continue the discussion of on Pastor DuBord. I had written 3 article in our Church Newsletter earlier this year & knew he was going back to DC in the Spring. I tried setting up an interview with him so I could complete the series. With illness, travel, etc, I finally got down there in late August. He told me about his upcomming trip to Iraq with Chuck Norris and asked me not to say anything for security reasons. His website: http://www.lacconline.org/ now has an article on that trip. Thought you might be interested.

Jane, in answer to your query re am I a cat person! Was it that obvious? Pop over to my page and meet my 4! cats. Must admit though, I am fast getting over the whole kids and pets thing. When these cats leave this mortal coil, I will not be getting any more...and when my kids finally leave home, I'm changing the locks!!!

Jane, we sound like two peas in a pod! Hubby and I have always had cats although much to his displeasure. When we were first together, I pestered him for a kitty because my family had always had a cat around the house. He finally relented when my girlfriend's cat had a litter. Unfortunately, we were the last to take ours and there was one extra one left over, the cuuutest fluffy tabby girl, so our one instantly became two! She melted hubby's heart from the first day and after having them for a day, we named the nutbag black kitten, Krakkaz and her princess of a sister was called Cheese! Since then, we have had a continuous house full of cats, all of them came to us either as strays or cats we took in from friends who could no longer keep them. I am embarrassed to say that at one time....we had 12! Most of them came to us as adult cats so we sort of became the local retirement home for cats where they could see out their twilight years!
We tried once to work out the total number of cats we have had over the years. We couldn't do it, we lost count at around 25!

Hi Jane, I had some trouble at first with the ♥ but then read properly to discover that you have to use the number pad keys, not the regular overhead keys. It works for me with alt 3 and alt 515. ☺☻♥♦♣♠•◘○◙ are a few of the others I get using the alt key and the number pad keys (these are 1 - 10) Hope this helps.

Jane..Since your weather sound so good...I'm just going to have to find a way of getting Sully to check it out. I really don't like our weather, but Sully does...since he's a keeper...I'm having to go along with him. I almost bought a house in Tamerac, Florida, but he wouldn't budge....so here we seem to stay. I guess I tell you all of this to tell you to keep all of your great weather to your self unless I can convince him otherwise. #2v bjfl7y7w! Dabnabit!
