Thanks for visiting! Pick a wild animal species and become its benefactor. I help turtles. Perhaps you might want to save Tassie Devils, or endangered Florida Panthers, or something small and not well known that only lives near you. We humans now impact every living thing... we have a moral obligation to be good stewards.

How on earth do you centralise your pictures without SLR. Do you guess the parallax correction? - or do you rely on cropping? - or what? Your pictures of 'long-beaked birds' are spectacular.

Hi Jim. Just wanted to drop by & say thanks for your birthday wishes. We had a scary couple of weeks worrying about Kyley, but thank goodness she is doing much better now & back teaching her third graders again. Can't believe I totally missed Jaz's visit. Was hoping to get in at least a phone call sometime. Oh well. Sounds like you had some good outings. I'm waiting to see HER pictures next. Rob & I wish you & Will a very merry and

Jim, if you are ever in the Delray area visit Green Cay and Wakodahatchee wetlands. I never fail to find something interesting, even in the worst day.

Wow! Let's start with the easy question: Flickr is free with conditions. When you have a free page you are only allowed a specific number of pictures a month. You can buy a "pro" account ($25. +/-) for unlimited space. I always copyright my shots and I have had a few companies contact me about some of my shots. I don't know if you remember I sold one of them to a company in Australia.
I haven't been to Loop Road in a while. I am glad they are resurfacing the road as the last time I was there - during rainy season - my little tank (PT Cruiser) almost didn't make it through. I wonder how long will it take for the otters, birds, panthers, etc. to get back after being scared off by all the noise of the heavy equipment.
I continue taking only day trips as taking care of my Mom does not allow me time to take overnight trips except once a year. That's when Jim and I take our vacation and, even though he is very gracious, I know he isn't as enthusiastic as I when it comes to sit for hours on end waiting for a bird that might, or might not, show up.
Wako, short version of the loooong name, and Green Cay are so close, I can drive up; take a leisure walk around, and still make it home in time for lunch.
I've yet to drive up to the Big Cypress Bend. I did go to Dinner Island Wildlife Management area - and royally ticked-off a couple of hunters. . . Oh well. . . It was a treat as I found a few Crested caracaras in addition to the nicest cattle I've seen. Let's say I had a close encounter of the smelly kind.

Merry Christmas to you and yours and a Happy, Prosperous and Healthy 2010

Hi Jim! I just checked the jigsaw Christmas day page again. I must try the starry eyes next year! I will have no trouble remembering the date when I want to check it out again! I have a serrated edge spoon which I find very helpful with the final gutting. Halloween has only gradually become more popular in Sydney over the last decade or so. I have only been carving pumpkins for four years so far. Quite a learning curve!

Matheson Hammock was also where our daughter went 'swimming' for the first time - she was four months old. Every time I walk by that spot in the lagoon I think of that day. Sweet memories. . . . .

Jim, you are correct. I guess it just adds a bit of a challenge to the Easy jigsaws.
The other thing I discovered was that each time you open the Easy site the pieces are arranged differently. So if you can't get the bedrock piece into a decent position first time then reload the puzzle and try again. Personally, I think this is cheating, but it is a valid technique. I don't use it any more because I'm only cheating myself.

Hi, Jim! Just wanted to say in more detail that I am thoroughly enjoying your photos, and appreciate the time you've taken to format them. I haven't applied myself to that just yet as I failed so miserably just in reducing the size of my photos on my page! I tried and thought I had mastered it until I opened some of them - oh well, I'll get there when I have time to play on the computer once more!
