Thanks for visiting! Pick a wild animal species and become its benefactor. I help turtles. Perhaps you might want to save Tassie Devils, or endangered Florida Panthers, or something small and not well known that only lives near you. We humans now impact every living thing... we have a moral obligation to be good stewards.

Jim - your picture of Jupiter and Venus was terrific. The corn harvesting pictures were also very interesting. What part of Illinois was that, and does the farm belong to someone in your family? I apologize if you mentioned this somewhere, but I am WAAAAAAAAAAAY behind in reading posts.

I like all your new photos Jim. I always enjoy your animals. We grew some corn a few times when I was young. More advanced machinery these days.

Jim, will try to answer your questions. Yes, all the flowers are ours plus many more. Hubby has aver 75 different daylilies, there are 35 different colors of iris. I tried to grow flowers when I lived in Florida, not much luck.
I started doing dates the European way about 20 years ago after my first trip to Europe, it just stuck.

Hi Jim! Had some free time today while the grandsons are in school to look for your newest photos - left comments on a couple. It took a little searching to find them! How are they arranged in the Photo Gallery? Do they just end up in random order? Heard from Jaz that you are doing lots of exploring around FL. That's great -hope it will warm up a little down there (and up here in NC/SC, too!) for the long weekend!! Have fun.

Oh, Jim, will have to put in with your comments on today's Easy Ah, "Un-named grandchild," another of the site's favorite themes for winning photos.

Right up there with "unnamed cats" and "blurry dogs."
It would be nice to have a bit of information. Happy days!

Nice to hear from you. Looking at your photos and those of others who are so skilled, makes me wish I was still involved. Your words at the top of your page need to read and acted on. Florida is slowly being ruined by man. It's sinful. I admire what you are doing. My nieces is an environmentalist working in the Baltimore area.
When people call her a tree hugger, she takes it as a compliment.

Give the turtles an extra pet for me! Well maybe not the snapping ones but at least wave to them for me!

Hi Jim. Always happy when other people are happy. And I did mean what I said in the comment to your pic. Meanwhile, there were no cats on the beach that day and I didn't even have Merlin in the shot. It was intended as an abstract set of triangles.

Hello! When you first mentioned Marathon Key, I thought it sounded familiar! I have an aunt and uncle who once owned a marina down there. They sold it after they had experienced a severe Tropical Storm. I have never been to the keys and I am not sure if I could "handle" all the bridges! I think a boat ride down there would be a lot more pleasurable! Thanks for all the info! It was interesting!

Hi
I agree with your sponsorship idea. Each year, on their birthdays, I give a years sponsorship to each my grand daughters. The eldest is deciding now what she wishes to support this year. Last year it was Indian Elephant and the Child Workers in Nepal. The younger girl sponsors the threatened wolves in Poland. I am supporting the cause to stop the aerial hunting of wolves in Alaska and IFAW as a general animal charity.

Hi Jim! I'm glad you mentioned your Wash., D.C. photos today. I had never seen them! Since I gained an extra hour last night I took some time this morning to go through your whole gallery - lots of good pics & good explanations, too! I always like to know more about what I'm looking at. I left a question on your Jack o'lanterns pic of 2008! Hadn't seen that one either. Please leave ALL the pics in your gallery, unless there is a limit? Other people may be slow to get around to them like I was. Have a great November. Hi to Will.
