Ian and Anne, thank you for the birthday greetings. I did get breakfast in bed! A reduced diet breakfast in Ryde hospital! I did manage to get home in the afternoon in time for a BBQ with family and friends. My son and family (2 grandsons) managed to get through the floodwater in Northern NSW to also get here in time for the party. The start of another decade for me!

Hi Ian, sorry I have not been in contact for a long time. Seems like when everything is going smoothly, there is not much to say! That does not mean that I do not think of you both, because you often come up in conversation, Scott and I speak fondly of you. As a matter of fact, we had lunch today at 'our' restaurant, the windows were open and it was extremely pleasant.

Hello Ian - thank you for your concern and lovely to hear from you. I have kept a track of TC Bianca since before it passed my daughter's place at Wickham early in the week and travelled down the coast, heading towards my son's place near Bunbury. It has now been cancelled as a cyclone but no doubt the west coast will still get strong winds and plenty of rain.

Hello Ian - thank you for visiting my page and the lovely birthday wishes from you and Anne.
I didn't have any expectations but they far exceeded any I could have had. I had a glorious day spent with my sister, daughter and friends at a winery for lunch, then coffee in town with the friends, following by dinner at my daughter's place in the evening. I had three birthday cakes made for me which were shared around.
Who could ask for anything more? Other than my other daughter and my son weren't able to be here but they both 'phoned.

I apologize for not answering your last message sooner, but it's taken me a while to get through your rather large gallery.

Seriously though, you have some really nice pictures. I particularly liked the sunset shots and those of the countryside.

What camera do you have? I used to have a Minolta SLR with multiple lenses to take slides. About 15 years ago I switched to video and let Barbara take the still shots. Then I decided to go back to a still camera, but elected to go with a small, easy-to-use digital Sony.

Sometimes I wish I had another SLR digital camera, but then I figure, what the hell, I'm getting some pretty good pictures with what I've got.

Ian, I was just looking at your daughter's graduation photo (congratulations again!). My second daughter also opted for geological studies - she also wanted to be a geologist, but was told that one more year would make her a geological engineer, so she decided to do that. She was always interested in rocks ... not sure if she finds them so fascinating now! She did some of her work-experience at Kalgoorlie mine and sent me some amazing photos.
Hope your daughter has a fascinating and enjoyable career. Good luck to her. :)

Sorry I haven't been in touch, but it is a case of nothing to tell! All is going very well here, in fact, I have even mooted the possibility to hubby of coming up one weekend these holidays. We have a new toy and she needs to have a drive on the open roads :) Are you at home base in the near future?
