Greetings. Please stop and visit anytime.  I retired last December, so I'm usually here,  and I love the company.  I'll keep the kettle on for y'all who drink your tea hot, or I can brew a cup of coffee.  I always have iced tea in the fridge.  For those who prefer the "harder" stuff; I just checked the bar, and it's properly full right down to the Bailey's for your coffee and the Jaegermeister for those with no taste buds left..  Laughing    I read the comments daily even though I don't always respond.  I love the jokes and appreciate people's insight and intellect.  So, even if you don't see the lights on; give a shout, stop, sit a while, put your feet up, have your choice of drink, and I'll find something to munch on as well.  Thanks to those who have taken the time to say hello.   With a little help, I'll try to finish "moving in"  to my page soon..  Best wishes to all of you.                   2006-11-30

Dear Cyndi,
Thank you so much for the birthday wishes for my hubby! We're going to have a quiet celebration because one son is in North Carolina and the other is out of town sailboat racing. So it better be a romantic one, he better not fall asleep! lol

Hello Cyndi - a very long overdue visit to say thank you very much for the birthday wishes to both me and Johnathan. I feel very guilty for taking so long to do the rounds to thank everyone but find it hard to spend much time on the computer with my daughter and Johnathan staying with me.

Cyndi, thank you so much for your kind words. Another crisis, but this too I will survive. But both my dad and I were prepared for this eventuality after seeing the senior citizen lawyer.

Cyndi, thank you for your very accruate advice about our having to put Simon down. The only choice was to end his suffering, and I know he thanks us for that. We did enjoy our cruise, and the grief did hit us when we got back home to an empty house. We know it was for the best, but it is hard to take at present.

Hi Cyndi - Thank you for stopping by my page. We just returned back to Cape Coral last night. We have been to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. Boy oh boy what a place! Everyone was so nice and my mom had excellent care! It is great to be back to my parents, though. I will be flying home on Thursday. I am looking forward to seeing my family.

Yes, Cyndi, talk about a lucky break. It was only because I wasn't too pleased with my ophthalmologist's responses to my questions that caused my husband to ask around about the possibility of seeing someone else. Admittedly, a string or two were pulled, and I got squeezed in immediately (probably because of my age) to see a retinal specialist, one of the best we've got here. And you know the rest. But I still believe everyone's thoughts and prayers went a long way to making me feel that at the worst of it, I wasn't alone. Thanks so much for caring.

This was my first 'Sudoku' birthday and I've enjoyed all the visits immensely.
I have been getting sidetracked looking at photos on every page I visit....I will never get around!!
Having found your Baileys bottle i might stay a while hehe!!
Where in SC do you hail from [or there abouts] - i really enjoy broadening my geographic knowledge looking up where everybody is from.
Bye for now

Cyndi, thank you so very much for the warm birthday wishes. I did have a fabulous birthday and am blessed that my family is around me so I got to spend it with my mom, brother, sister and brother in law, hubbie and my 2 awesome teenage daughters!

Was in your neck of the woods a couple years ago when we vacationed in Kiawah Island. A beautiful place to visit, but quite a little hike coming from Pgh, PA. It was well worth every minute, except for the Tiger spiders (is that what they are called?). I can remember seeing their webs in all the trees, some of them being a little low for my comfort.

Thank you again for your wishes, take care and I hope you are enjoying a wonderful, relaxing, fun filled and rewarding retirement!

Cyndi, I have just seen your message on easy about your trip to the emergency room. Your son only did what he did because he loves you, I am sure.
I hope all is well and they were able to make you more comfortable.

Cyndi, I do hope you are OK. You would hope that he would also ignore a request from your husband if the situation was reversed. I would also make the same request from my son so as not to worry Paul, but I also know that just having him with me would relax me and help me to get better. And, as an aside, I found out almost 3 years after my mother was ill (with some very rare thing) that she actually died 3 times and nobody told me. I knew that she had been moved to ICU but they told me that it was because her salt levels had dropped so low and they had to raise them and it was something that needed constant monitoring and it was all a very normal thing. I can't begin to describe to you how hurt I was when I finally found out from my sister - who assumed I knew - who had found out 12 months beforehand! Let the people who love you be there for you.
Take care
Love Rose

Hi Cyndi-
I just wanted to check in since the last time we caught up, which is about a year. Sorry I never got back to you :)

maybe sometime in the future here.
Because there are so many people onsite, I likely won't go back any time soon to everyones old pages or the archives, so I'll keep intouch from here on out, if you'd like :)
And maybe one day I'll get the umph to really, truly catch up!

take care,
an old friend

Thank you Cyndi- I agree that God has forgiven me. I think because I lived for so many years holding myself guilty, that it's going to take some time to free myself of the guilt and so on, and truly forgive, but it's making way in me, and I'm making way in life. Thanks for your words, they made me tear up again. I'm glad I'm back, and hopefully I'll open up to my friends rather than running when times get tough, this time around :)

Hi Cyndi,

Thanks for the offerings and the greetings. In exchange, how about some Hot Brown and a Mint Julep, both local delicacies. Or, may I offer you a home grown Rack of Lamb? Mine are so good, they melt in the mouth. I, personally, am a teetotaler, due to meds I'm on, but I have no problem with others enjoying some of our good Kentucky Bourbon.

Thanks for the good wishes on Nora Hope's birth. Nora and big brother Payton and mommy and daddy are well. I'm still with my daughter and family in Cincinnati, Ohio, doing gramma duties and becoming quite tired myself! It's a good tired, however! I'm hoping to be able to go home tomorrow (Wednesday 5/14) and then I can play sudoku again!

Thank you Cyndi for making my birthday a special one.
Many sudoku friends from around the world coming to visit me and wishing me a Happy Birthday have overwhelmed me.
My Husband and sons took me out to dinner to a Chinese Restaurant, and on the Sunday, we had a delicious Roast Dinner at MIL’s.
