Hi dno, hope you have had a geat birthday.
Re the comment you left under the lace making. I asked the lace maker the same question. It appears that all the little rods are in pairs and the end of each pair is decorated with a different combination of beads. It is fascinating to watch but I am afraid I have neither the patience nor the dexterity to do justice to the threads nowadays.

Hi dino.
for the other day. I did say it on a jigsaw page & intended coming here afterwards, but.................!! I've just been on the sudoku site to apologise for my earlier rant & saw your note. Thanks, dino. There was no need for me to rant, though, it was a minor hiccup in the middle of a lot of other things and it shouldn't have happened! I revisited your flickr page 3 hrs ago to check out your photos again, when my son asked me to drop him off somewhere. He's going to the wedding of a school mate this afternoon & he'd driving the bridal car! He bought a slightly used car the other day a little sporty thing called a Triburon and as P was using our car today, I got to drive his home! So I dropped in at the place of my friend who used to look after him while I was at work from when he was 2 (27 now) to show her his new car! Her eldest daughter was there too and it was wonderful to see her - she's one of my worries. She had a melanoma removed many years ago with another a couple of years after that, with no other problems till now. She had her 2nd baby 3 months ago, and her 40th recently. 2weeks ago she had another melanoma removed from her lung! Anyway that's enough of my problems. I'm glad yours seem to be resolving, but you are still in my prayers & thoughts!

PS I forgot one of the things I wanted to tell you, on one of the Flickr pages I found a "Sand mandala" and thought you might like to see it too: http://www.flickr.com/photos/26085795@N02/2990507201/
Would it really be made from sand and is it something for prayer or what. I guess I can google it!! What ever, it is very beautiful!

I'll answer my own question: The Sand Mandala (tib: kilkhor) is a Tibetan Buddhist tradition involving the creation and destruction of mandalas made from colored sand. A sand mandala is ritualistically destroyed once it has been completed and its accompanying ceremonies and viewing are finished to symbolize the Buddhist doctrinal belief in the transitory nature of material life. Maybe I was meant to find this today!!!

Thank you for sharing the "You Tube" flick - now that I have DSL I can watch it, it is beautiful! I have made a friend request to you - that way I can more easily arrive at your page to view your gallery, watch the "You Tube" again (for me it is a fine way to start the day when I feel at all stressed), and "talk"! I so much enjoy seeing your photos appear as puzzles, you have such an eye for the small beautiful things in our world in particular.
And thanks for the advice to TerrierCyn about the resizing - I have many photos I would like to share and keep messing up the resizing process (many in my gallery still are poster size, and I worked so hard to make them small!).

Thank you Dino for your kind words. Thursday and Friday were so nightmarish trying to keep an even keel. But by Friday afternoon, I received a call from the hospital saying that my mother was fine and was going back to the nursing home. My father will be going to see her tomorrow.

On Christmas morning, gather around the

Any good storyteller throws in little side stories from time to time. Editors!?! I'll bet you had no idea how difficult writing a book was going to be. Wishing you a satisfactory completion.

Hi, Dino! A VERY belated Happy New Year greeting to you! I barely have time to do a few puzzled and drop by SA7 any more. I keep meaning to post a note to you and let you know how much you are missed! I hope all is well with you and your family and Merlin, who, of course, is part of your family! I hope all of the vision problems of the past have been sorted out! We miss you!

Hi, Dino! It was great to see your posts on SA7, but I missed you. How awful the the TV transmitters have burnt down! I suspect that it will take some time for those to be rebuilt.
I guess it's good that you are getting some steady rain. It's a shame that the wind direction changed, impacting the fire. Stay safe!
