Oh, Cp, what bad news about your Mom's fall!
I hope the pain meds will at least make her comfortable until the surgery. She (and you) have been through so much lately. What a trying time for you both. Please know that I am praying for her recovery and sending you a hug and good thoughts. Please take care of yourself too.

Prayers in my heart and fingers crossed that everything goes well for your mum. I went through that with my own mama, and - while it takes an older person a long time to recover - it is not necessarily the death-knell many make it out to be. Peace. Meredith

CP, just sending along my heartfelt best wishes and prayers for your Mom's speedy recovery. I hope that she'll rest comfortably and that somehow, by knowing that people from near and far are rooting for her, she'll keep her spirits up and get better that much more quickly. Take care of yourself at this stressful time, too. These are tough days and they take their toll. Bless you and your family.

CP: So sorry to hear about your Mum's fall. This is going to be a tough time on her and you. I hope that they keep her comfortable and the surgery can go forward in the near future. Will she be able to do the physical therapy after the operation? My mom fell again on the 19th and cracked her pelvis. It is small and at this time, they are going to see if it will heal on its own, rather than surgery. She pulled out the walker and has been using that to relieve stress and the pain. The following morning after the fall, she backed the car out of the garage to be sure she could still drive. She is back working and hoping for the best at 86. My prayers are with you and your Mum.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I join with everyone else in wishing your mum a speedy recovery. Sending you, MrP, 4T and all your family a big hug.
My grandmother broke her hip when she was in her 80s. Nobody expected her to walk again. One day they found her walking down the corridor at the nursing home. On enquiring about her leg and did it hurt, she replied that it did but pointed to the "good" side.
I hope the next few days pass quickly for you all.

You've been through a lot lately with your mum, CP, but it's bound to get better. I can't help but admire you for your efforts to "bring her home," and I'm sure that you will be a great comfort to her. I hope and pray that she recovers quickly from the hip injury, and that all of you can have some peace and just enjoy being together. With your job and family commitments, you must have an inexhaustible supply of energy! Love and good thoughts to you.

CP, just adding my thoughts for an, at least, comfortable wait for your mother, and then a speedy recovery. You must be finding this a very trying time, but be consoled that she was with you and not on her own as she had been. Take care Bluey.

Hi CP. I have been holding off sending a message in hopes that things were progressing with your Mum. I know from personal experiences how difficult it is when seniors have falls that cause damage. I hope you are bearing up, but I know it is taxing on you and all of your family. My thoughts are with you, and I wish nothing but the best for your Mum.

Hi CP: Don't know if this will help any, but I have a card from my pain specialist that states I have signed a long term opiod agreement and receive opiods; but, should a new acute pain problem develop, it is permissible and EXPECTED that the treating physician, etc to prescribe opiods for a short time to manage the acute pain. It might strengthen your argument some maybe? Just thought I'd throw my 2 cents in.
I do hope they get her some relief soon and you can get some restful peace as well.

CP .. just wanted to say my thoughts are with you.
I've forgotten how old your mum is but I am 'convalescing' from the aftermath of caring for my elderly mother. It is a very demanding, [physically and emotionally], time in our lives and there isn't a lot that anyone can advise that will help. A sense of humour though is ESSENTIAL and that will help you through these difficult times. Be strong enough to take care of yourself and the rest will all fall into place.
Ciao for now.
