Hi Kathy. How are things down in your neck of the woods? Fall is rushing in here and the leaves are turning and dropping already. Hope all goes well for you and yours!

Hi Kathy - Thanks for your support. This will be permanent bridge #2. (I'm currently on temporary bridge #3). I had a tooth extracted 20+ years ago and my first bridge lasted (with only minor help) about 20 years. Amazing from what the Drs. say. However, I was losing alot of bone. And we (drs. & me) didn't want my face to start sinking in (before I turned 40) or lose more teeth due to bone loss. The good news is that we have arrested the bone loss. Bad news no implant - back to the bridge. The new bridge will have to encompass more teeth including my 2 front ones. Not looking forward to that!! I'm glad your bridge is doing well for you. I hope yours and my new one go 20+ like bridge #1!

Kathy, have I told you lately what a treasure you are? Thanks for stopping by with your kind words and thoughts. You've no idea how comforting it is to know that so many from near and far care and are cheering my mom ever onward. There are tears daily, but we find time for laughter too, and I'm balancing things as best I can. My hubby is a rock, another thing to be grateful for. Despite all the gloom, I'm a very lucky person, especially to know someone as nice as you.

Hi, Kathy! I haven't been here in a while, so thought (before I ask a question) that I'd bring some fresh-pressed apple cider. I took the liberty of putting it in the fridge. Now for my question: how do you make the musical notes - both single and double eighth notes? Thanks for your help.

Kathy, you've been a godsend through these tough weeks. Somehow, you've found just the right words to help smooth things over and make the sadness more bearable. The power of your caring has meant more than I can tell you. I'm sure you're surrounded by wonderful, loving family and friends just because you're the person you are. My healing has begun because of dear people like you.

Hi, I brought my spiced popcorn!! You mentioned that today's cactus jigsaw was hard and I thought I'd give you trick I learned when doing huge, really hard puzzles. Put all the extra pieces in shape order, hope it helps. You make notes, do you also make hearts? How?????? PJ

Kathy - Thank you for your greeting and the wonderful soup. I think I'm going to weigh 1,000 lbs with all this virtual cooking on site (and unfortunately, they probably won't turn out to be virtual lbs). Best wishes and a belated Happy Canadian Thanksgiving to you!

Hi Kathy,
YUM! Make a mean Clam Chowder myself so I hope you will enjoy it - doesn't really compare to your offering. Luckily for me my spouse is allergic to crustaceans and so I won't even have to share [unless I really want to]! Don't get to indulge myself on crab very much.
It is always very interesting to see where people are from - will have to look up Chesapeake Bay. Naturally I've heard of it but I'm not completely sure where it is. I live in an inner Eastern suburb 7km from Melbourne CBD [E of the city and the Yarra River] Great area to bring up a family but it is a target for burglers from the outer suburbs [they don't go to the stinking rich suburbs because they have very sophisticated alarms systems compared to us]Do drop by again.

Hello Kathy! Thank you for the warm welcome and the soup! Delicious!
Where in MD do you live?
We just moved from Silver Spring, MD. My husband is stationed at the NNMC in Bethesda. (Although right now he is temporarily assigned to a unit out of NC and is deployed to Iraq)

I'm glad you like the temari. I have really enjoyed working on them. I have found that the books by Diana Vandervoort are the easiest to follow. Good Luck and let me know how they turn out!

Kathy, I am very thankful that I got some of that lovely soup. Yummy! I'd like to leave you some fish and chips from Ponsonby Fish and Chips (my favourite spot for F&C). The fish is tarakihi (which I just learned from Wikipedia is also called jackass morwong--must be the aussie name!) and is very popular here.

Glad you enjoyed your time in Auckland.

Your timing is just fine! Thanks for the visits and for the comments. Where in Maryland? I have a dinner I go to the first Saturday of January every year in Annapolis. I used to work for a company there and we have a reunion hosted by the founder for the original employees. The company was sold a long time ago and then went under, but Terry holds a dinner for about 100 people every year and even pays for the hotel rooms for those of us from out of the area. I just need to pay for my airfare and rental car.

I love Annapolis...

Thanks for visiting my page and admiring my pride and joy. She is wonderful.
I am all up for putting the girl up for Grandparent adoption, all grandparents welcomed. I do not think the girl can get enough attention, gifts and the blessed spoiling. So when you swoop down on your grandchildren in Ft Worth please stop by we are just a mere 2 to 3 hours away.

Hopefully soon I can update the pictures, the ones you viewed are old, the girl is going on 16 months now and she is aging well, she is so beautiful and smart. I am not biased by any means.
Thanks again for visiting.

Thanks Kathy for your kind thoughts on the death of my husband, Geoff. Our Sudoku family is a great one to have at any time and its a family of choice. It's an honour to be a member, to have so many friends across the world who can share in our good times, have a laugh with us and also be there for us when we need guidance, comfort or strength when times are tough. Thank you for being a part of that family. Lynne

Hi Kathy, I just saw that Bowie MD is one of the "best suburbs" to live in! Not sure how they compile those lists, but I was surprised that Bowie came up first in the slideshow. Go to
http://promo.realestate.yahoo.com/most_livable_metro_area_suburbs.html
and click on the thing that says "in pictures: most livable metro-area suburbs". Pretty cool to know that you're living in a great place!

Kathy, thanks heaps for popping in to my page to let me know you liked the receep. Apart from my family, I have two major passions. One of them is food and the other one is...well...I'm here aren't I. I'm always here!
I looked back over that recipe and remembered how well received it was. Thank you for the reminder, I shall have to do it again soon.

Kathy - maybe I can just carry a picture of him around and beg for candy? It is interesting watching traffic come by - last night as I was coming home (well after dark), a truck came past, stopped, backed up, and angled over so his headlights would light up the yard!
It has certainly been a conversation piece.

Leaving me with your Halloween candy, huh? Well, just for that, I'm dropping off a loaf of orange-cranberry bread that I made while hubby tended to our dozen trick-or-treaters. I'm not going down the calorie road alone, Kathy! And then there's deciding what wine to serve with dinner tonight--oh, the pressure, the pressure! Have a great weekend.

Hi Kathy,
Thank you for stopping in to check on me. The surgery went well (finally) and although my jaws are so swollen I look like a cartoon, and I can't chew anything firmer than gummy pasta, I'm pleased as punch to have it done and over! That cranberry-orange bread that Cathy left looks mighty appealing, I might have to sneak a piece to soak in some milk. I'll leave you with the leftover candy that Jill and Eve didn't get.
Take care,
Cindy
