Hello Shiela - How are things down your way? I thought of you often while I was gone! (Rick did too!) We often said, "There is a picture for Shiela to paint!!!" The mountains were so beautiful. There are so many stars down there also. At the night, when it is clear, the sky is "peppered" with them! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.

Aren't you the greatest for thinking of me and the felines in the domicile! Arthur quickly recovered from his brief flirtation with getting partially blocked--the special diet kicked in and he was back to his old self the next day. (We're persisting with the diet for awhile, though). Holmes goes for blood work tomorrow to determine whether his pancreatitis is under control, so fingers crossed. He continues to struggle with constipation so we're vigilant with the laxative (which he loathes) and we persist with canned food, using dry stuff only for rewards (after he's done you-know-what). Honestly, isn't it something the things we do for our four-legged family members? How are your little ones? It's pouring rain here, so not too Christmas-y yet ... I hope you had a great Thanksgiving celebration and aren't too turkeyed out! Always good to have you drop by for a visit, Shiela--have a wonderful weekend!

Thanks Shiela. Hope all is well with you and your family. My father seemed a little more aware of details of things today. Maybe that is the start of a more positive future. Thanks again.

Shiela, hope your "cleansing" day is not too bad, and tomorrow is over quickly. The good news is that you are having the procedure done - think of the number of men who ignore symptoms until it is too late! Will be thinking of you tomorrow! Keep smiling.

Shiela - Thanks for stopping by my page. I just added a photo of the rendering of this year's float in my gallery & also updated my U-tube since it is past Thanksgiving. If you want to see photos of the float construction through end of November, a web site is given in the description of the "Scissored Wizard" rendering.

Tonight Jacksonville is having its Victorian Christmas Parade. The other night when I was out in the 20° fog, I woke up with a runny nose - it is still running and now coughing up phlegm. Figured I would stay in again tonight. Hope to get over it before I leave for LA.

Good afternoon Shiela,

Thanks for the inform on Finches - I have tried to mix the new seeds with the old by moving the feeder up and down. I just get a kick out of them - stop coming when the seed is down to the bottom rung on the feeder - and if I go out there and fill it- they flock back in numbers. I put this feeder in my front yard as the birds were coming to the front door and peeking in the house during the summer. Take Care, keep warm

Ah, Shiela, my faithful friend, I knew you wouldn't let me down. We got our tree down last weekend, with all ornaments from it wrapped and boxed, but the dining room table is still loaded with garland paraphernalia, plaid bows, wreaths, a brass horn--it looks like the elves' workshop. Still have a big wreath on our back garden gate but it just looks so darn nice there, and yes, everything looks bare afterwards. Believe it or not, we also had a small tree with old-fashioned ornaments from my Mom's collection, along with a garland for my office, that I didn't even get around to putting up this year. Ran out of time ... Anyway, so it goes. Your kitties are well, I hope? Have a great weekend!

I doubt that your sister could have missed Prambanan if she lives in Central Java, it's very popular. This is the Hindu temple and Borobodur is the Buddhist temple, both very old and both were lost as monuments, Borobodur was overtaken by lava flow and jungle and Prambanan due to an earthquake which reduced the are to rubble, but have been restored to their former glory.

Shiela,

We're OK in our area. We had about 6 inches of snow which was fairly easy to move.

Thanks for your concern,

Joe

Oh, Shiela, poor Tuxedo. I know you're giving him as much comfort as you can, and like all cats, he's probably trying to bear up stoically despite his condition. Just brought Arthur home so we'll be administering the dreaded subcutaneous fluids again, along with meds. He did his usual squealing and growling but is now calm. Passed some urine but I'll be vigilant and keep him isolated for a few days. I know what you mean about not getting cats for awhile; I can't imagine our household without them, but I think we've decided that we'll definitely allow our current crew to age gracefully, and that the next cats we bring home will be from the same litter. I suspect Spike, sadly, is a bit of an antagonist in our midst, going along fine for quite a while, then resorting to bullying, territorial behaviour. I feel like I'm running around in circles, what with meds and special diets--there are days when it seems nothing else gets done. But when it's good, it's very good, right? Anyway, nice to have you to comiserate with; sending warm wishes to your kitties. They've got a great cat mom.
