Shiela - I was panicking when reports of snow were coming - I think we're just getting rain. My peach trees have blossomed and I would lose any fruit if we got more snow. Last year it snowed on Memorial Day! Thanks for stopping by - hope your tulips survive and blossom for you.

It's my turn to thank you for the compliment, Shiela. Thanks for checking out my photos, and I'm glad you like them. I meant to tell you also that the Goethe quote is awesome!

I visited Stonehenge about 25 years ago. I found it extremely fascinating. At the time you could walk right up to the stones. As you drove up, they were just there in the middle of the field. You could not drive up, there was a parking lot, and walk under the road (if I recall). I also was very impressed with Fishbourne (Roman villa mosaic floors that was discovered - if I remember correctly - when a gas line was being installed) near Chichester. There is so much history in England to see. Along with fun things like touring the Morgan & Pantera Car Factories.

I have always been a bit of a history nut, so loved "Sarum" as did many of Mitchner's books; Rutherford's "London" was interesting but did not grab me as "Sarum" did. I wish I would have done my family ancestory before I went to Europe & especially England (all over - but know the parishes) where many of my ancestors came from 250-375 years ago (mostly Puritans & Quakers).
I'm trying to let the next generation know through my research - hopefully adding to their trips. I've been to England, Scotland & Wales twice - but not to Ireland yet also ave been to Europe, New Zealand & Kenya. Meanwhile my mother has been to 150 countries (in 30 years) - last month was Croatia.

Congratulations on 40 years, Shiela! So you join Jane and me in the "I got mine in '69" club! It's quite an accomplishment to find a man worth keeping around for that many years, eh? Wow, what a great memorable event!!! You've got three years on me~if hubby behaves he may last that long! His retirement is driving me up the walls! I still have three years to go.

I am still trying to get to Michigan! It will probably be sometime this summer after my sister-in-law has hip replacement surgery. I will keep you posted!

Thanks for the bon voyage wish, Shiela! I miss my three little guys already, the hardest thing about going away on a vacation. (We try to hide the suitcases in a closed bedroom so that can't see them--they get upset!)
