Kate, I am glad the Rainbow Bridge story was a help to you. I always thought it just the best story. it was first sent to me many years ago when we lost a kitty cat. I know about loosing pets, but have never had to take one for that last visit to the vet. We had made that decision for the kitty I spoke of, on a Sunday afternoon. Would have taken her in Monday AM, but she did not survive the night. It is not an easy decision but often is the best. I hope your memories of your Meg help you in this time of grief.

Hi Kate, our "relationship" is getting spooky in a nice way! I missed your comment of a few days ago about your ex. but noticed it this morning: I was at SVH from 1971 to 1974! And when I logged on to you page I noticed you'd become a member here on the 29th May last year - I became one on the 24th May'07!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kate: My sincerest sympathy on the loss of your dear pet, Meg. I wish there were something I could say or do to diminish your pain. Just know that there are many of us on site who care and would carry your burden of pain if we could.
God Bless

Well, Kate, get to work and get your "beautiful" son in your gallery! I'm sure that he will be a "looker" too judging from your daughter! But it's hearsay until you get him in too. You're an accomplished photographer! Those pics from India are fascinating.

Hi Kate. I trained as a midwife at RNSH 1977-78! Your child would have had his/her 1st birthday when I was half way through! If I'd started a year earlier??!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes I took the bee photo, but the Gouldian finch was on (Albany) Anne's page! I'm sorry about your pet. I must have missed that somehow, they become part of your lives so fully don't they!

Kate, would "ditto what they said" be enough!
Thank you so much for putting the photos up, we did look like we had fun, didn't we? A great night.
I have a few more pics to put on my page, but I only had my phone so they are all a bit grainy due to the low light. Pop over tomorrow night, I should have them up by then.
So grateful you responded to my pleas!

Hi Kate! Had just enough time this morning to spend awhile in Sudokuland trying to catch up a little. Must leave in 20 minutes to go pick up Sten from preschool. Enjoyed seeing your pictures of the Melbourne gathering. Looks like you all had a good time. It's fun seeing strangers become friends!

It was nice to chat with Steve and Gail at the get together when Ian was in Melbourne, just sorry I couldn't have chatted with a few more but I believe that the 'phone was needed!

Kate, I don't always read all comments and must have missed the ones about Meg. Even though belated, I send you my sympathy now, as you have given my yours. Bean is right, it doesn't get easier, even after doing it several times, but the joy outweighs the sorrow manyfold. May we both figure out how to focus on the joy.

I've been really busy lately, and havn't had much chance to drop in and see how your doing, hope all is well. I've just had a quick look at your photo gallery, and it looks like you have been up the coast recently. One of my most favorite places, and I can tell you I know Wye River very very well. Many a camping trips and many long drinking sessions on that beach! We really should try and catchup for a quick bite one day soon.

Hi Kate,
Just dropping in on a dual purpose...
Firstly,
for dropping by on my birthday. Being a newbie to sudokuland, [actually it is a year in June], I have been flabbergasted by all my visitors.... it is so special to get messages from all over the world from people I feel I know very well but have never met. Extraordinary.
Secondly, are you coming to Gail's on the 31st? Hope so...would be good to chat some more. Time flew so quickly at Ian's do that we hardly had time to chat. Hope to see you soon.

Oh Kate....
So sorry to hear that.....doesn't matter how old they are.... or how good a life they have had..... or whether it is their time......[recognise the platitudes?]
It just plain bloody well hurts.
That was me last July with my mum.
I just poured sherry and morph down her neck as if there was no tomorrow in the end....it was just so awful in the end...cheyne stokes etc.... the last thing she said was "I love you" and I'll treasure that forever. Made those endless hours less exhausting.
My thoughts are with you.
Give me a call if you need an impartial shoulder.

Kate, I have just read your post on Bean's page. My heart goes out to you in your vigil at your mother's bedside. I know what you are going through as my mother was the same, though in the end I wasn't with her. Keep strong and know that people are thinking of you

Kate, I was so sorry to hear of your mum's passing. It seems that she died peacefully and without pain - which is a blessing. Anne joins me in offering our heartfelt thoughts to you in these difficult days. As you probably know, Anne lost her mum last year so it is fairly fresh in our minds. Just know that you have the love and support of the Sudoku family. Look after yourself, Ian

I am sorry these past few days have been so hard for you. If there is anything I can do, or if you would like to meet up for a cuppa and a talk, I am at your service. Please don't hesitate to ask.
Sending you a hug
