Oh Kate..
What can I say that we haven't said before....
You have been in my thoughts so much over the last 36 hours...
It is still so fresh in my mind that I feel I can see and hear your mum. Your exhaustion after the vigil will allow you to sleep...a chance to recoup your reserves for the next stage of your mothers journey from earth.
If there is anything I can do....shop, buy tissues, shoulder to cry on, make a cake....anything except vacuum....you only have to ask.
I'm not very far away...20'max.

The tide recedes but leaves behind
bright seashells on the sand.
The sun goes down,
but gentle warmth still lingers on the land.
The music stops,
and yet it echoes on in sweet refrains...
For every joy that passes,
something beautiful remains.
May memories bring you
comfort and keep your
loved one close in heart.
With Deepest Sympathy,
Rena

Miss Me, But Let Me Go
Author Unknown
When I come to the end of the road,
and the sun has set for me.
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room.
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little—but not too long,
and not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that was once shared.
Miss me, but let me go.
For this is a journey we all must take, and each must go alone.
It’s all a part of the master’s plan, a step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick of heart, go to the friends we know.
Bear your sorrow in good deeds. Miss me, but let me go.

I haven't been around much lately, Kate, so I only just learned your sad news. It's been a hard time for you, but also a rather beautiful time, I suspect, as you've "kept vigil" with your dear Mum in her last days. I hope that the knowledge that she is at peace now will give comfort to you and your family.

Hi Kate.
Just wondering how you are.
The start of yet another week... time just keeps rolling along, doesn't it. Hope you are starting to find some peace and that this new week will be an easier one for you.
There is something about Mondays and starting anew.
My thoughts are with you.

Kate,
Sorry I havn't gotten back to you sooner, but May is one heck of a month for me. Unfortunatly I won't be able to attend Broni's lunch, Emily has ballet comps every weekend in May, and sigh you guessed it, its the big ones that weekend, and I must be in attendance.
Hopefully thou, a week after that I should be free, so might give you a buzz and see if we can catchup for a cupa or something.
Take care of yourself, and enjoy the day, it sounds like its going to be fun.

I've been thinking of you, Kate, and hoping that each day will somehow bring a small smile to your face as you remember your dear mom and think of the special gifts she gave you. Mourning does funny things to us; I still have odd reactions to the silliest things, and end up thinking "where did that come from?" But an understanding friend says that grief manifests itself in many ways, so be kind to yourself during these days, weeks, and months to come. I'm always here for a chat, so feel free to share at any time. Sending you my very best wishes and a hug to let you know I care.

Kate, I know the hurt never goes but now you know you have friends who really care that you're up and around, who feel instantly when you're down. Kate, we here for you.
In four years I'll be retiring and will visit Australia, so many friends to see. Would like to have a "cuppa" with you and all in Melbourne.

Hello Kate
Not sure if you know this but I actually work in a nursing home, as an activities co-ordinator, I love my job and I know what your saying, with the checking your watch there are so many family members that do the same at my work, and I can see their pain, watching their loved one slowly fade away,I remember it being the most difficult time, with my Mum, Dad and my husband.
Take care and remember there are many people who think of you often, see you saturday Liz
