Hopefully I'll be back to running in the next three to four weeks - I've had nearly a year off due to an injury I picked up in an ultra marathon in February (I need to get back to it to take off the extra kilos I've put on since then!)

Our son drove back from Uni a few days before, so it's nice having him home for a couple of weeks. The house is livelier with his comings & goings and whatever friends of his show up to hang out.

Have big plans for New Year's? My only tradition is to watch the Rose Parade on TV and enjoy the lovely floral decorated floats, marveling at the engineering and other creative forces at work!

Hi CG, thanks for asking me to be a friend. I am honoured. I do indeed celebrate Christmas. I have never rejected my Christian faith, but find it powerfully enhanced by my Buddhist faith and understanding.

Buddhists see Christ as a great bodhisattva (ie, not quite a Buddha) and therefore he can be included as Sangha, which is the third of the three objects of refuge... the other two being Buddha and Dharma. Mind you, not all Buddhists agree with me! ditto re the Christians.

Oh well, I seem to spend my life out on a limb (in limbo? hehehe) If I can create ways for others to see their own love and wisdom and for them to see this in others, then I am content.

so a belated Merry Christmas. May the promise of the Christ child arise in your heart and all hearts everywhere.

Hi, yes, just lurking. spending a lot of time on facebook, but it gets tired after a while. Usually try to get to these puzzles a few times a week. Usually no time to chat, but i just got done with revamping 35 pages on my web site (www.marxparts.com)so needed a break, when I saw the really good picture of a simple flower, it seemed like it just deserved a simple comment.

Greg for taking the time to acknowledge my birthday yesterday 13th. The day was celebrated with friends at lunch & pizza's were ordered in to share with the family in the evening. (The family has grown to 17 now & still have 5 children without partners)
