Hi, Greg: There was nothing too deep about my "nope." (Or nothing too depe about my noop.) All I meant, I suppose, is that my current name reflects the request that was made regarding multiple logins. But you never know!

Hi Greg. for the birthday wishes. Yes, I am alive and well. I still do the sudoku fairly often and read the comments occasionally. I'm hoping to retire 2 years from today (if my RRSP would just stabilize ) then I'll have time to join in more often. I hope everything is good with you.

Thanks, Greg. I am leaving this time on Sunday. This move may dribble on all summer. I am trying to empty my apartment and take a trailer this time. In a week, I get the rest of my stuff from the x's and put it in storage, along with what I can't take this time. TM and I will come back out to make the "van move" in July or August, after the farming has slowed down. Picture me on a combine in a couple of weeks! LOL Life is good, and I'm happier than I have been in ages. Bout time!

Greg,

Thank you for your REAL birthday wishes. No rest for the wicked, however! I'm out in Wichita, KS packing my sister's thing for a move to her new house.

Your birthday greetings have brightened my day! Thank you again.

Greg, that l'il girl on yesterday's parent puzzle isn't mine. That is Jeb from Aggieland which is in Texas. Like I told Judy, Texans are not generally held in very high esteem 'round these parts. Albany Anne alerted me to the picture. I'm not a parent puzzle solver so I would have otherwise missed it and I sure don't want to be held responsible for contributing any more Texans to the herd.

Hello Greg,
Thank you for your warm welcome. That was sooo nice to have your special double fudge chocolate beavertail pastry from Ottawa, but I only managed one bite because it was late night/early morning and I realised that was not good to eat such rich food before bed . Would you share a glass of bubbly with me to celebrate my join-in (I believe THIS is never too late/early)

Hi Greg,
Many thanks for your birthday wishes, I had an amazing day. We're still travelling, so most of it was spent in the car, but hey, what a day. We managed to sample some of your country's hospitality and spent 3 days in Niagara Falls, Ontario. I know it's a tourist area, but we were treated like royalty everywhere we went and it was just the best feeling. So, thank you and your fellow Canadians!

Canuk Greg it is always wonderful to hear from you. This has to have been the fastest 12 months I have ever lived. I have snuck in late at night a few times during the year to check on my worldly people, but as a parent, you should have warned me how exhausting parenthood is. I have jokingly, threatened to put my darlings in child care and go to work, so I can have a break. But so far, I have not found anyone good enough to take care of my girls.

What about you? How has the year been for you, besides earth shaking events?

Kendall, finished her first year at school and is advancing to PK-4. Her big day is Monday the 28th. I do not know why, those teachers wanted or needed a summer break, they are just going to have reteach what they taught this year. Anyway, she is growing by leaps and bonds, mostly in her legs. She likes to stand beside me and tell me she is almost as big as me. She is also a wonderful big sister.
Morgan, as you will remember, has gone through a year of firsts. A very happy baby and loves her big sister. We are working on walking at the moment, any day now she will take off. Not too many coherent words yet, but you know what the girl is saying.
I have said before, I am not a bragging parent, just stating facts, but I am blessed with the best girls. At the moment, they are in their pretend food preparation room just working away happily, must get that from their dad's genes.
Take care dear friend and I hope to visit more often.

Greg, you're a prince! Thanks for thinking to visit and send birthday/anniversary wishes all around. The celebration here continues -- thank goodness we just joined a gym! And since you asked (and I bet you're sorry), Holmes was born on October 27, 1994; Spike, we're not sure, since we got him from a shelter, but he's around the same time as Arthur, so we celebrate them both on April 5th (Arthur was born in 2003, and Spike in 2000). Hah, bet you thought you had me! Have a great long weekend, Greg!

Thanks for the warm welcome, Greg! I'm actually from Ottawa, moved to Nanaimo nearly 20 years ago for the sailing - 12 months a year instead of 6! Still miss those beavertails though - here's a Nanaimo bar from me!

Thanks for your Birthday wishes. Mom flew up here for the weekend and we celebrated with a huge 10½" Strawberry Cream Cheese Pie. I have to admit it was one of my best and hope you enjoy a piece with me for breakfast/lunch.

It was 100° both days over the weekend - was suppose to go up to 106° today but is now slated for 95° today. Going to a BBQ tonight & sharing ice cold cherries.

PS check the Sudoku Cookbook for the recipe.

Hi Greg, Your post on hard today spiked my curiosity about Esperance/Lake Superior comparative water temps. I came in quite late, so thought I'd comment here. I grew up in the Fremantle-Perth region. Afer my first reaction that the water of the southern ocean would be much colder than around Perth, I thought about glacial water and decided to check. Not deep research, but Lake S. in the summer in the 1970's was between 0 and 13 deg. - 1979 saw an increase of 2.5 deg. The thinking is that the snow cover is getting thinner and sunlight is making its way through, and by now ...? Esperance is washed by some of the warmer water going down the east coast of Africa which hitches a ride on the top edge of the southern current (travelling east). Most of the warmer water goes north up the west coast of W.A.. but it is not totally blocked by Cape Llewellyn. Esperance (Albany too) seems to be between 16 and 19 deg., so Anne should know. If you're interested I can let you know the websites/maps I found. Cheers, Bev
P.S. Almost beavertail weather!
