I think I got a TOPP on your page! Thanks so much for your birthday wishes for hubby! We had a pretty normal day (whatever that means), with nothing special happening. Children called and found out their cards hadn't arrived on time - due to the weekend birthday, I'm sure. As they're out of state, we had no visitors. When he visited his Mom (who will be 93 in a few weeks), no mention was made of his birthday. She's essentially doing quite well for her age, but losing track of time. (A couple of days after visiting her last week, she called and thought it was Sept. 27.) But, what can I say? I don't always know what day of the week it is - and even though I know he had his birthday, I don't think of him being a year older.

hi Becky, thanks for the web sites. i did check them out, but the problem i have is that the tartans are for scots, not irish. that means that they don't have the right name. so i'm still looking. i've seen the tartan (it's my avatar), so i know it exists, but finding it in a scarf to buy is hard, hard, hard. lol! thanks again for your input.
yes, we did have a good anniv. we cut it short tho, my allergies were messing up with the high mold counts and live oak trees' pollen. the B&B was a hoot. we wondered what the walls would say if they could talk. oh, the stories...it used to be a bordello and was decorated as such. what a hoot.

thanks for your help and good wishes. what part of Ohio are you located? we travel thru OH couple times a year and have worked thoughout the state. we have friends in napoleon and defiance.

Hi, Becky. Love your double distelfink "welcome" sign. I have the plain double distelfink (for good luck and happiness) hanging inside my back door in my laundry room. We were in the mountains near Ashevile, NC, over the weekends and saw several hex signs on buildings all over the region. My aunt was Mennonite. My grandfather, my mother's father, (on the other side) was Quaker. Unfortunately, he died when Mother was 15, so I never met him.
Thank you for your concern. I have been around, but I've been trying to catch up, silly me! Is that ever possible? Also, hubby tells me I need to stop "staying up all night" and keeping such ridiculous hours, so I guess late night SA's are out--not for a minute. I have checked into SA, but no one is around when I am checking, so I read a little of the last posts, and check back later. I will catch up with you soon; I promise.
Now, I think I'll take a moment and have a glass of tea, with lemon, if possible. Thank you. No, no time for--well, maybe just one cookie; they look soooo good. Thanks again.

Hi Becky; for the belated birthday wish. We lived in Toledo for a while and enjoyed the people there very much. We have friends who just returned from visiting Cincinnati; they were shocked at how hot it was at this time of year and the effects of the drought. It seems as if weather extremes are beginning to be the norm. And I'm beginning to believe that the exceptional Sudokuists on this site are the norm, too. Thanks for visiting my page and I'll be watching for your comments in the future!

Oh, Becky, thank you! We had a great time together on Sunday. A late brunch and a trip to the Norton Simon Museum. My husband, my son and his wife, and I strolled through Old Pasadena.

Hi Becky, thanks so much for your help! i couldn't find the curry tartan available in a scarf, so i opted for the county our ancestors are from, cavan, and ordered scarves for DILs and me. they should arrive in time to be Christmas gifts for the girls. i considered ties for sons, but not sure they wear ties anymore..not even to church, so that might be a waste. the girls will be able to use the scarves with winter coats or jackets. i don't wear a winter coat these days, but i'll need one whenever we head north for the holidays...lol

Hey Becky...Thanks for the visit and note...It gives me a chance to visit and check out all o your pictures.....I don't remember them being here when I last visited, but I'm not remembering a lot right now. Sully is doing well, but his diabetes is hindering his full recovery...plus I have three projects, one for church, one for my condo association and one for AARP that are demanding more time then I really have to spare right now, but they are all must do items and I'll get them done. Other than busy and tired, and unable to spend as much time as I'd like on the site, all is well with me. How about you? Please drop me a line or two letting me know how things are with you whenever you get a chance...I know you don't have much spare time either....busy, busy, busy. We much keep our wheels turning...miss you a lot...take care.

Hi Becky, Thanks for dropping by to say hello in July. We were in upstate NY for the summer and the computer was in the "business center" of the apt blg where we were. Not conducive to hanging around. Anyway we are back to Florida in time for the low humidity and cool evenings. Yay! I grew up in Steubenville Ohio. Good state! Good people! Where do you live?

Thanks heaps for your birthday wishes for Beth. She certainly did get quite a bounty last night when we did the family 'thing'. We have always given the kids their age x10 in money so they can get themselves exactly what they want and she also got a lot of jewellery from family and friends.
As for the cake, she had a pavlova last night but didn't seem to want a cake for tonight because she's gone out with mates, must be way to uncool!
