I know you'll be telling a few stories about your brother and I hope that memories will bring you cheer during what will be a poignant holiday for you. On Christmas, my hubby and I will toast all those we've loved who have gone ahead to set a place for us in another kingdom--we'll include your brother in our thoughts. Hi Jane. Been meaning to call or e-mail you lately, but have been SO busy!!! We'll have to chug straight through up to Wendy's tomorrow - usually a 12+ hour drive - ugh! I'm afraid we may end up in some bad weather, too. But on our way back from Fripp on Jan. 25, MAYBE we could stop. It should be cool enough to leave the dog in the car if that lobster place is still open??? I'll call you from the beach house after we get a little more rested!

You might be right about the time for my grandson's birth, but the ultrasound a couple of weeks ago said it was already over 8 pounds! DIL would like your prediction much better! And I don't want it to be tomorrow... We are having a 'Mini-Michigan Sudoku Meet'! (At the cafe where I have 24 of my paintings on exhibition!...so I want to BE there!)

Hi Jane! Love your moon photos. I have already checked the full moon schedule for the rest of 2009 to see if we will be at Fripp for any of them. Sorry to say we will NOT be. Full moons over the beach are SO pretty as you well know. Thanks for your comments to Caleb. I will show him tomorrow & show him how to reply on your page. By the way, do you happen to know the status of Rayray? I have not had time to read Archives & have not seen any updates recently.

Hi, Jane! Wow, a Sudoku anniversary party - sort of. It sounds great! Early anniversary wishes to both of you! I have no idea what June holds for us yet. We have about a week in MA in Jan., Feb., Apr., and May and 4 or 5 days in TX in Mar. Two of those are to hear children soloing with orchestra, 2 are to help with grandkids, and 1 is that and the Boston marathon. We'll have to see if money and energy holds up to do a trip for ourselves.

Jane, what a glorious way to celebrate yours and Jaime's 40th anniversary. Sounds positively wongerful.
I might start putting some ideas into hubby's head, we sure could use a break away from things this year and I couldn't think of a better way to do it.
Will let you know once I have sown the seeds and let you know whether anything grows!
All the very best wishes to you both, and thanks for the invite.

Thank you Jane for your condolences. My Dad was ready to go as he hated knowing that he was losing his memory and felt that he was a burden to us, at least now he is at peace.

Dear Jane
I hope your tomy problems are already under control. I am triyng to post some of the pictures from the trip, but for some reason I do not find where to click to do that. Can you help me giving some instructions. Do not be very explicit since I do not want to look like the absentminded I must be. I also lost your e-mail in a reinstallation of Outlook express.
Have a healthy week.

Hi Jane! Just looked for a reply to my e-mail about Sunday plans, but didn't find one yet? Hope the e-mail didn't get lost in the cold air somewhere out in cyberspace!! I finally got out & walked on the beach yesterday since the temp. finally was up to almost 50 deg. Going downwind was okay, but coming back with the wind in my face was NOT enjoyable! Trying to finish up our 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle before Sun. - wish you were here to help!

Yes, snow is usually melted off into mud by mid April and things are greening up around the edges -- one of those things you see out of the corner of your eye but not if you look straight on. Otherwise it looks like a war zone. Except for the crocus and daffodils and violets. They tell you it's spring. Late April is iffy -- sometimes summery, sometimes chilly.
May is nicer, and warmer. The ticks are out by then, so you know spring is sprung.

One year we had snow on the ground continually from Thanksgiving until Easter except for a few days the first week of December.

Jane, I don't know what's going on at your place, how many fellas with the initial "J" are in your boudoir and how Judy knows so much about it, but I've heard that fuzzy slippers drive some men crazy ... the same group who have a prediliction for sheep ... Anyway, stay warm!!

slow cooked pork roast -- I watched cooks country on TV and googled it today, you have to have a membership - so I'm not going to make the sauce. you need to cook it at 300 deg for 7 hours, I just put the rub on that I got at the store. The long cooking renders the fat, but you never to put it in the ice box overnight - as you will not be able to slice it (will fall apart - as the cook said -- wait, wait, it gets better) anyway, next day, slice and warm up again - renders the last of the fat and should be fork tender --- hoping for such.
