Thanks for setting me straight on which Kate went to Adelaide! I'm going to have to start reading more carefully whenever I see the name Kate in order to keep them all straight!! Hope you have a good weekend coming up. Do you miss your husband terribly or are you able to get along okay without him? My husband was gone so much during his 23 years in the Navy I kind of got used to being alone & actually miss solitude now that he's retired & home 24/7!!!

Oh Kate, you are soooo close to a "sore" point with me! ! My younger son was 2 ounces shy of 10 pounds! I couldn't have a normal birth because his head was so big! Had an emergency caesarian after the doctor "let" me try for 12 hours after the fluid gushed out. Soooo help!

Kate, thanks for the expanded info, and corrections concerning the Murraya. Wherever it came from and whatever it's called, it's a beauty. I would certainly have been disappointed to order a mock orange, thinking I was getting the murraya, though. Not that I'm going to, but you never know. Lovely, lovely, lovely flowers! And you do such great photos! Take care.

Hi Kate! Left a comment on your son's photo with the tiger. Did I see something on Easy about another photo of a cockatoo eating your neighbor's oranges? Where shall I look for that one - Gallery or Flickr? By the way, how do you decide which to put where?? Hope you're having a good weekend. Is your husband safely home? I haven't had much time for the site this week during Jano's visit to FL. Need to get a few photos posted on my Flickr. Karen & Jano didn't seem to enjoy picture taking so I only managed to snap a few of them. There are NONE of the three of us together sorry to say.

Kate, thanks for posting the photos of the cockatoos caught in the act of stealing! I cannot imagine being able to see birds like this in my neighbor'ss yard!! I think of them as very expensive pets living in cages at the pet store. Also, thanks for the anniversary wishes! It was very sweet of you to remember. Amazingly, you included in your comment on my page a photo of a flower that I think is the same as one in a pot hanging on my lanai. I do not know the name of it, but maybe you can tell me! It is the one with multiple tiny star shaped pink blossoms with dark centers. They grow in a cluster out on a long vine far away from the leaves on the plant. Each little flower has five petals which are rather thick. If you can tell me the name maybe I can google it to see if that's the same as what I have. I would love to solve this mystery.

Gee, Kate, you are Johnny-on-the-spot! Knowing you is like having my own personal flower & bird encyclopedia! Thanks for the quick answer on the Hoya - that is exactly what I've got. Not surprising that they like high humidity - mine sure gets that here! Maybe I will try taking a few cuttings & moving some out to the yard.

Hi Kate - thanks so much for your kind wishes for our Anniversary last week. We had a lovely day and a wonderful meal at a restaurant in Port M. All in all an enjoyable 'short break' - and mini-sudoku meeting with Elise to boot. Cheers!

Kate, I get so much pleasure when people enjoy my pics. Today I discovered a photography club that meets near here once a month. My informant even promised to share the trip to Foster and back. This will give me an opportunity to learn more about processing (manipulating???) digital images. What fun!

Kate, I will have to stick with the cyber cake for now! it did look delish though! We had 2 birthday cakes here, and even freezing most of one for later, well, just too much cake! Wish real ones were as calorie free as the virtual ones!

I will look up the recipe and drool over the page though. Two of my favorite things, Strawberries and chocolate.

I do have to find an afternoon to come and spend time in your garden, those flower photos are wonderful!

Thanks Kate, I really hope you do get to some of the places - for me the pictures bring back wonderful memories, but in truth, the most wonderful thing is not the scenery, but the most delightful people that I've met over the years, people who go out of their way to ensure that I have a pleasant stay in their country. I've often felt that perhaps we don't do the same for visitors to our country. Many of the Indonesians who have been so generous to me have so little yet are so willing to share, perhaps we should learn from it.

Hi Kate!!!!! Thank you for the birthday wishes for my dad. I really appreciate and he does too! I called him this afternoon. He lives in Florida. He is about 1500 miles from me. I told him that I "announced" his birthday today and he was getting wishes from ALL over the world. He was amazed. When I was down there in April, I think I sparked his interest in Sudoku! I sent him a book with erasable ink pens for his birthday! Now if we could just get him interested in the pooter............!

This is a special day, also, because 29 years ago I was expecting my first child. My "due-date" was the 28th and I figured I had another week or two, but he came on the 26th! So we will celebrate another birthday tomorrow! When my parents lived here, we would celebrate the two birthdays together.

Kate, I did see the Y.o.t. Rat picture on the Crossword page, But I thought there should be a LOT of rats in this Parade.

FYI ... I was born in the Year of the Sheep, fairly appropriate since I'm developing my own sheep breed!

I have to watch it, Kate. I broke it when I was 20. It's now in horrible shape. I go to a Pain Management Clinic where I get epidural pain blocks every three months, and they keep me supplied with strong pain killers. Thanks to that stuff, I can lead a normal life. If you call my life normal. He he he.

Kate, I never knew Australia was such a BIG country! I bought a cheap world atlas to keep beside my computer and I looked up Sydney and Queensland. I just never realized how BIG it is!

My your child came early! My second child, Angi will be 27 in August. It is another busy birthday month for us! We have three that month!

I would love to visit Australia someday, but I must first go to Sweden. (My brother lives there!)

Thanks Kate for dropping by my page. Actually your timing is perfect - I only put the photos from the Dubbo visit on a few days ago.
Immediately after our return we saddled up the car and fled down to Melbourne for my brother's 70th birthday. We called in on Rosemary/Wangaratta on the way down and had lunch witl Elizabeth/Portarlington on the Saturday and Gail/Cockatoo and her husand on Sunday. Both were wonderful events.
Then, almost immediately after our return, we took the motorhome to Newcastle to have some curtains fitted and the TV replaced. We stayed a couple of days in the area.
Then I developed some cardiac complications which will take a couple of weeks to resolve, but I was able to spend the day on the Harbour yesterday with the members of my old Squadron.
We had a wonderful time in Dubbo. Maureen was very hospitable and most generous with her time. She took us to parts of Dubbo that I didn't know existed. It was a fun few days but the weather was fairly ordinary and no help for good photography.
Speaking of photography, you are developing your own style of excellence in your photos. Most of your macro photos, particularly of flowers, are magnificent. I enjoy viewing them.

Kate, thanks for the tiger info. I'm going to check if we'll be anywhere near there on our itinerary. Could you please give me some Flickr advice? How do I get the little pictures where it says kathyfl1946's photostream to the right of the big one to change to more current ones. Mine seem to be stuck on the ones of Carol in her Mustang & Jaime with the deer. Even though I have uploaded many more since then, those are still the ones that stay in view. I'd like to change them to show the ones of Shosho & Brandon. Maybe there are instructions on Flickr somewhere, but I can't find them. Can you help me? Thanks.
