Hey Greg, thanks for stopping in. Can't say that I have ever been in your neck of the woods either, thou I have made a couple of trips to Canada, to Niagara Falls and Toronto. This is a nice area and only about four or five hours from Ottawa I would guess.

Happy Birthday Canada! I hope it was a good day for you and the rest of the country Greg. Take care.

Hello Greg,I enjoyed listening to the Oilers fans rousing rendition of 'O Canada'. I stayed awhile and watched Conan O'Brien's border patrol, it tickled my funny bone :)
Happy Canada Day

Hi Greg, for the good wishes for Canada Day. Hope you recovered from the flu sufficiently to enjoy the snowbirds and fireworks. And, of course, a mug or 2 of Molson Canadian.

rowing....rowing.....rowing.... LOL I can't type - I'm enjoying an old time fav - just missing Ms Tina's legs

Okay - thanks for the tune.
I actually work several jobs - I work part - time in Physical Therapy and I also teach (lead) some water classes - a Ai chi (like tai chi only in the water) an arthritis class, a low back class and just for the summer - warm water sampler - I enjoy the classes and the people - plus I can exercise also. My other job - taking care of my boys - one 15 and sulking around the house 3/4 of the time gotta love them - and my older boy who is staying on campus this summer I'm slowly becoming an empty nester. They grow so fast. Each stage of a child's life is wonderful - I'm getting more 'free time' and enjoying it.

I'm looking out my back window - I put out some corn - since the rabbits ate my flower garden - marigolds and all - and bird seed. A mother duck and her 4 half grown children came up to visit the feeder. About 3 years ago, we hatched 2 duck eggs in the oven and had them for about 5 weeks (I actually didn't think the eggs would hatch - but they did) Those were the days when the boys brought me things from the creek behind our home - we always had a 24 hour catch rule. Well, enjoy your day. Mary

Thanks for dropping by my page and extending the invitation the next time I'm in Ottawa - I'll take you up on that! I was helping my Dad as he recovers from knee replacement surgery (hubby was home with our sons); he's alone & needed a 'gopher' and someone to talk to, as he is unable to get out.

OK, Greg, I'll let it go, despite your condescending wording about 'allowing me in.' And I won't bring up the fact that you blame Canadian gun violence not on violent Canadian citizens, not a Canadian failure to enforce its own laws on smuggling and gun control, but on the United States' refusal to disarm its citizens. Whether you realize it or not, there is frequently an undertone of anti-Americanism in the most reasonable of your posts, as when you pray for world peace--while implying that the US is the reason that it does not exist. And do me a favor...don't get huffy and reply to me openly on the Easy pages. Follow your own counsel and let it go.

Greg - I just came back and saw what a snake's nest I stirred up earlier. I am very sorry for not making things more clear in my first post.

It seems that it is best to stay away from anything that anyone might object to in our world. It is very sad...

Be well, my friend!

Hi Greg, Thanks for stopping by, I always love company. Hope you had a wonderful Canada Day. One year we were in Toronto for a ball came, sons favorite team, did not realize it was 1 July. They had the best fireworks show I had ever seen.
Frank Lloyd Wright was a friend of Frank Phillips, he visited Bartlesville several times. There is a private home here designed by Wright as well as the Price Tower. Price Tower was renovated about 5 years ago, is now a hotel, resturant and art gallery.

Thanks Greg for the birthday wishes. I'll take them as belated, no maybe not? My birthday's in Feb so are you forwarding my birthday or is it just happening (that doesn't make sense!!??) I was 55 in Feb. So if I'm only turning 55 now that's great!! But if I'm 56 now that's a bit early! Beware of those RAAF guys, my Dad was one. They're realy nice people except when they're being totaly right wing.

Hi Greg,
Thanks for checking in with me, that's exactly what it is I love about you guys on this site, thanks Had a couple of big life changes and dont get on as often as I would like, hopefully that will change soon. My eldest joined the army and whilst I thought I was prepared for him leaving, I hadn't prepared myself for the possibility of our business(on the market for sale) selling and the new owners relocating it 2 hours away! So within the space of a week my son left, the business that had been my life for the past 5 years was packed up and removed, and my sons friend who had been staying with us for the previous 2 months left the day after Darrell enlisted. So I haven't coped as well as I had planned to, but given how it all went down that's o.k. So anyway I was going to have a bit of a break (should still be on it!!!) until fate stepped in and the newspaper fell open showing a position vacant with my previous employer, the opportunity was too good to miss so I jumped back into full time work, and now my body is having it's revenge. I am being tortured by tonsillitis, throat & ear infections etc. It's my body's way of letting me know I am run down and I need a rest. I didn't want this to be gloomy and it must sound that way, the army is a good thing for Darrell and he worked long and hard to get in and I am happy about that, the business was on the market for over a year, so that to was also a relief. I am now focused on kicking the bugs out and getting on with my brand new life. It's all about me isn't it!! I hope all is well with you and yours in beautiful Canada.

Hi Greg
No idea where he will be stationed yet. At this stage he may not continue after basic training, he has requested a change from infantry to signals ( I dont know what all this means) and if they wont transfer him he wont stay in infantry for 4 years. They have been 'out bush' all this week so I wont hear from him until tomorrow or Sunday. He is very up in the air so I just wait for the next development each week, I dont mind what happens as long as it is the right thing for him, so there is no disappointment or anything like that. I hate it when they are confused and full of angst because I cant really do anything for them until they know what they want. I should confess to being a very non conventional parent. They have to choose for themselves in life, it is not my job to dictate what those choices are. So I feel powerless until they decide/choose, then I can support, help, whatever they need, etc. Waiting to see what choices he makes requires patience, I've always failed that course!! But on the other hand listening to him explain his thoughts and reasons behind this is so great, I dont know how to describe listening to your son speaking to you as this thoughtful, logical, and very funny MAN. I'm a proud mum. Anyway enough of this. I will let you know what happens.

Thanks for your comments on my pictures ... I replied to several. It was, indeed, a great trip. As I mentioned before, we intend to be in your area in October. Here's the current plan, still somewhat open to revision: Fly to Montreal Oct. 13, ride the train to Quebec on the 17th, back to Montreal & Toronto on the 22nd, to Niagara Falls on the 23rd, back to Toronto on the 24th and get on the train to Vancouver on the 25th. We could make the 16th or the 21st days to meet with you someplace if you're available. If not, probably something else could be worked out. Also, please comment if we should spend more or less time certain places, or if there are things to not miss. We'll be connecting with a friend during our time in Quebec.

Greg, we'll be in Montreal Oct. 13-16 and could take the train to Ottawa any of those days if you are available. We'll be getting around by train, but not with a tour group, so, our time is pretty much our own. We could even rent a car for the day and drive down there. Or you could come see us in Montreal. Whatever works.

Hi Greg! Thanks for your Canada Day message -- and for keeping in touch on my page. All is well. I was just (as you once put it) under the radar for a while. I'm quite overwhelmed with all the avatars and changes and stuff in Sudokuland, but am trying to get back into the swing of things. Have finally set up my page (it only took six months!!!) -- come on over for an ice cold Canadian or Corona! Did you 'celebrate' C. Day? fireworks? bbq? Moi, went on a Sunday trail ride two hours NW from here, up toward the Bruce Peninsula -- two hours through woods, up and down hills, across meadows of tall grasses, wildflowers, buzzy bees and butterflies. Ahhh!!

As I said before - your taste of music is right up my aisle. Use to see Louie Prima & Keeley Smith in Las Vegas as a child. They sang in the bar shows - I'd find a place where I could watch them and was legal for me to be. This song I have on a extend 45. Played it for my nephew when he was in his 30's and had been living off of women for about 15 years.
