Hi Heidi,

Thanks... it's not really intuitive is it? But maybe it's because I build websites and always say the more people know that more they can't figger things out ;-)

Glad you liked the frog...

BTW We breed Dexter Cattle!

Cheers

Hi Heidi,
In reply to my barnacles pic - It's a wooden pallet on the beach, don't know where it came from but it was covered in small crustaceans.

Hi Heidi,
Re: My rescue cats, I do the website for our local non-kill group... a new one is in development for them now, just need time to fit it in... it's a love job so has to go between paid work.
I just wish people would do a few things when they decide to get a pet - desex them, and realise it's a life commitment and life can be up to or even over 20 years! Otherwise they should just not get a pet... My Mum and I were carers for Cat Protection years back and too many years of seeing terrible things done to animals just makes me like people less I'm afraid.

G'Day Heidi,

The Micro controller on the kids pages a few days ago is the sort of 'chip' that would control something like a microwave over.
I have, in the past, used these to control stuff where I work. It's getting a bit old and slow now, can not buy these ones anymore.

Hi Heidi
This is my second attempt. The first disappeared into the great www. Loved the Goons Video. We still get repeats on radio which I listen too. I can also remember while at Uni in the 60's watching a TV show called Telegoons which were puppets produced by the BBC.
I just thought I should tell you I'm totally against cruelty to animals and helped rewrite the Animal Welfare Act in Tasmania which banned tailed docking. It is just that I am not 100% sure that docking is cosmetic and unnecessary in every case. I haven't bred a docked breed in over 20 years and have stuck to Chihuahuas and Italian Greyhounds. I imported the first American Champion IG to Australia in 1979.We lost the last Chihuahua I bred last week at age 15.
My birthday present arrives in Tasmania next week after several unsuccessful runs on the mainland although he did earn a small amount of prizemoney.
I have a mare due to foal in October to another Artsplace son, Art Major who is the leading sire of 2YOs in the USA for 2007 and 2008. Three others in various stages of training and hope I can win a race soon. Two Norwegian Forest cats round out the household if you ignore the kids. (We do most of the time)
You obviously love your animals too. Life is so much enriched by them.
All the Best
David

HEIDI, Read your post today and don't you hate it when you get a phone call like that. NO information, just a worry till you get to doc and find out what. And 24 hours to wait, bummer. I hope it all turns out to be some little bitty something that can be easily fixed, sweetie. Stay busy today (as if you are ever NOT busy) and tomorrow morning will be here faster. HUGS to you, and will be thinking about you and sending requests for good health for Heidi.

BTW, why were 3 cows culled and where do they go from the stockyard sale? When we lived on the farm, they took calves to the sale, bought by feed lot operations to "beef up" and become food. Old or sick cows, overage breed stock were sold for pet food.

Heidi, I'm so sorry you are having health problems and sympathize with the anxiety caused by being asked to come back for more blood work. Hopefully it will all turn out well - fingers crossed!

HEIDI, totally understandable, reasons for culling those cows. You cannot feed a cow all year and not get a calf, takes a lot of $$ to feed a cow! Heriditary conditions also need to be culled from the gene pool. Wish I were younger, would love to come and visit and follow you around a few days. sounds like you have a most efficent and well run operation there, and I can see, it is all due to Heidi, too.

I thought you made 2 pies and IH ate all both of them, already?

Try not to worry till after tomorrow, sweetie, and you notice I said try. I know it is hard, have had some experience lately. Worrying will not do a darn thing to change what you will find tomorrow. Whatever it is, we will be here to help with moral support. If you need to talk, I can send my phone number, I am a good listener, and can keep a confidence. Or you can type to me, private message or I can send my e-mail address.

Well, based on your comments today, it's good to know you only have a cold and not mono. I was wondering how you managed to have enough energy to feed the animals, post on the site, etc. Hopefully Mamacita only has a bad cold as well. Get well soon.

Your comment on Hard today reminded me to ask: How's your health been? My MIL told me about "4 herb tea" which is supposed to be good for cancer, but also for large intestine and colonic ailments. I put it in the back of my mind to tell you about it.

Hi Heidi

I've always loved the name especially because of the Heidi books and because I went to school with a Heidi who was born the same day that I was.

I enjoy your posts very much. Your farm sounds quite interesting. I found Magnolia, KY on the map!

I don't post often but am always lurking. I hope you're feeling better now.

Best wishes, Louise

Hi Heidi, Just saw your comment on my sunset picture. I'm sure your collies would love to visit. I guess I'd have to put up some more fence though...
The dogs would surely get their exercise though. Only 15 acres, but mostly woods, and 100 + foot elevation change (hence the view) for exercise.

For what ails ya, I brought some fresh Washington apples. (Not to make light of a "not fun" situation.) I do hope you are feeling better.

Heidi, thanks for the directions to make an avatar. I will try to make one in the next few days. If I have no luck, I will tell you. I have no idea what I want as an avatar. The only thing coming to mind is a picture of the state of Florida (which is boring) or an apple since I am a teacher (also boring). I am open to suggestions.

Heidi, I was really excited to read this news article - though it is too late for my niece - and wanted to share it with someone. I thought of you due to your recent bought with mono/glandular fever!

The debilitation disease multiple sclerosis could be prevented with a vaccine being trialled in Europe .

The disease affects more than 18,000 Australians.

University of Queensland researchers confirmed on Wednesday a link between the Epstein-Barr virus which causes glandular fever and is carried by more than 90 per cent of the world's population and multiple sclerosis, Fairfax reports.

Researchers say the vaccine, developed to combat glandular fever, could save thousands of lives.

However, some doctors warn the vaccine has not been fully tested as a preventative for multiple sclerosis and does not take into account the influence of environmental and genetic factors.

People with a parent, child or sibling with multiple sclerosis are at greater risk of contracting the disease, previous studies have shown.
