I hope this site works for you! It's a natural cloud formation photographed in New Zealand and appropriate for this time of year.

Julie,
for the ! Been 'watching' for a while and decided to join when I couldn't hardly stand not having "my" sudoku come up last weekend. I had already decided to really make it "mine" by becoming a member! (It was already in my New Year's Resolution.... so, I finally actually did one of my resolutions!...an easy one, though.) Must be a nightmare for Gath!

Hi Julie,
Thanks very much for the birthday wishes. Yes, I did have a wonderful birthday, despite being 60. Had a party on Saturday with my family and friends, enjoyed that too.
I've been overwhelmed by birthday wishes from the lovely people on this site. I'm so glad I found it, if later than most. Everybody is so friendly. Cheers, Cynthia

Hi Julie,
Thank you so much for your concern. I am OK , just very busy . I retired last year and I am amazed to see that the days are far too short . I am making power point presentations about my trips and enjoy it a lot. I visit Sudoku daily , solve the puzzles , read some of the comments and....go back to work :))))
Wish you all the best !

Actually, it's correct either way, Julie! This was an extrapolation of the common expression "He's got my number" or "You've got my number".

Of course, it just occurred to me, in England (and possibly Australia as well), it would have to read "Sudokuland HAVE got my number", since groups of people are considered plural in those countries (e.g. "the firm have implemented a hiring freeze".) Oh well!

Julie - I took it as You've got my number.

On my page in the flicker photos - is a flat map with oceans erased - so the Sudoku board shows through. Personally I prefer the font on the one with all of the smilies - over the one with the plain 9x9 under it. In any case numbers should be on the board.

Hi Julie! Thanks for your kind words. These nonsense rhymes are just part of the fun I have on the site. I think the anthem thing was just a one-day fun exercise. If you want to see the 'anthem' though, you don't need to search the archives. It is posted on the forum page that Eve created. Cheers!

Hi Julie...did you give up on me? Sorry! Well about my babes. I started with box turtles which there are no pics of and I don't know why, I'll have to work on that when they come out of hybernation. I got the first one, Shelby, an eastern three toed about 14 yrs ago. Fell in love with him in the pet store. He has orange spots on his head and legs. Then shortly after we adopted an old lady we named Chipsy (shell badly chipped) from the Boys and Girls Club. They had problems with the kids mishandling her, so she came home with us. I have no idea what kind she is other than box turtle. She is very old. Then shortly after that we got Princess Lindsay Aurora. Found and named by my daughter's friend, Lindsay, who found it roaming under leaves in her aunts front yard. Princess had dog teeth marks on her shell. These three live in our backyard in a planter that is about 25 ft by 2ft. We have never had any babies, not that Shelby doesn't try. He pesters both the girls. They hybernate from late October through mid, late March. They eat worms, snails, slugs, crickets if they can catch them, fruit and flowers.
The sulcatas we started out with Jamboa and then a few weeks later went back and bought Buster (siblings). I fell in love with sulcatas about a year before we got these two. There was one the size of Tonka in another pet store that they were asking $1000 for. The creature was magnificient. Head as big as my fist. I came home told my husband that I wanted one and he said fine, get rid of the dogs. Well that didn't happen BUT I did end up with Jamboa and Buster. Bought as babies for $125 each and about 2 inches in diameter. Unfortunatley we had a tragedy with Jamboa and had to have him put down.

We went on with just Buster until I met up with a man on through a tortoise forum on the Internet. Turned out he only lived about fives miles from us and he had a large male his daughter's had given him as a Father's Day gift. SURPRISED was he! Our son and I went over to visit and saw what was then called Skippy, now known as Tonka. The man was retired, bad health and he and his wife really didn't want Skippy/Tonka. He told me that he had two people interested in buying him sight unseen. What he didn't realize was that they wanted him for stud service. I was very upset about it because there are sooooo many of these tortoises that people buy when they are tiny and cute. They aren't told and don't realize they can grow with proper care to 100 to 150 lbs and out live you. They eat and poop almost as mush as a horse. They end up trying to find homes for them, leaving them in the desert where they can't survive as California desert torts do, as they do not hybernate and need temps no lower than 65F. Anyway my husband out of curiosity wanted to see Skippy/Tonka and the rest is history. We bought him for $645 to prevent any further hatchlings. At the time we didn't know whether Buster was male of female but we soon found out. Our pla

Our plans were to destroy any eggs we ended up with. But Buster decided to so us his true self shortly after Tonka arrived so we didn't have to turn into mass murders. "The boys" are separated as you have seen in the pix by a couple of large housing beams. They eat/mow the grass but haven't learned to edge around the walkways. They love hybiscus leaves and flowers (candy for them), mulberry leaves, cactus and flowers like roses, pansies etc, that have not been treated or sprayed. We supplement them in the winter with romaine lettuce. We have a fairly large backyard that is enclosed on all three sides with block wall. Fortunatley neither of them have a digging need, which they are capable of tunneling up to 50 to 80 feet . We have large dogloos for their houses with a heat lamp in each one and which we partially fill them with timothy hay when they first were outside on their own. Well Tonka was always outside. The hay can be eaten but they also dig in. This has helped with the burrowing I think. We have had no tunnels yet! They are the fourth largest turtle/tortoise and the third largest land tortoise. Tonka has been with many different owners and rams everyone at first sight. Territorial! Buster we've had since he fit in the palm of my hand. He is the sweetypie, follows you around like a little puppy dog and is even allowed once in a while in the house. Tonka is not because he'll poop and pee whenever the urge hits. Buster very rarely dirties his own house. Tonka has grown enough that we will soon be buying the GIANT size dogloo as at this point if he does not get his body straight, he can't get out the door of the dogloo.

Well I'm sure you didn't expect a novel but you got it. Thanks for taking an interest in my boys. Sorry it took me so long to reply to you.

thank you for asking
Ethan is doing really well although he has had to have further blood tests due to a high calcium level. the major chromosone test they did came back all clear this week.
he is a real chucker with his feeding but lauren is trying to eliminate as much dairy from her diet as it seems to make it worse.
he is doing all the right things with smiles and 'gooing' so I am sure he will thrive and become a big robust fellow very soon.
have uploaded a couple more photos on my page if you would like to see him.
cheers
