Hi, Aimee! I haven't seen your name pop up in a while (though I'm not on every day, and sometimes don't get to read posts), and thought I'd check in and see how you are. We share a wedding anniversary -- isn't it a small world! Speaking of small, Little Thomas is growing so quickly, I almost wish I could slow him down. He's so much fun! I hope you are well and enjoying the new year.

Thanks Aimee,
My daughter (41 today) lives in Paris, so we will be together over the phone after she gets back from work and has fed and put her 3 kids to bed!
I was born in Pittsburgh PA, but left when I was 2, never returned, and have been living in Rome since 1963 - gosh, that's 45 years! At times I forget how old I am.
Thanks for your visit. See you again soon.

Aimee, thank you for the birthday wishes for Bryana. Yes, it is hard that she is away. She decided when she was in 8th grade that she wanted to go to a good school. She researched a bunch and decided on one outside of Boston where she got a full scholarship. It is very challenging and she loves it. We just visited her on Sunday for her birthday and she will be home for a long weekend on the 30th. She also gets the month of March off. I'll be going there to watch one of her basketball games in February. Take care.

Aimee,
I left Pittsburgh when I was 2 and never had an opportunity to return (there was a war going on and my father was in the Navy). The family more or less travelled the world depending on where my father was posted. Then when I was 22 I came to Rome as a tourist - and I'm still here even though I get itchy feet now and then.

Hi Aimee, I have added a couple pictures of the bridge and a marker for the park where we stopped in Arkansas to my page. I also have a picture of a bridge we driver over, this is the back way coming from town to my house.

Hi Aimee! I as just rereading some of my messages and realised that I never did answer your question about my daughter's meerkat impression - how rude of me!
Well, first I should point out that my daughter is a very STRANGE girl.(In a nice way, of course!) She also has fairly prominent front teeth, and she has watched the TV show "Meerkat Manor" way too many times. So now, at the slightest provocation (or no provocation at all!) she puts her paws, sorry, her hands, up in front of her, stretches her head up, sticks out her teeth, (I know, it's disturbing!) and "becomes" the meerkat! It was hilarious the first few times, now it's slightly worrying. As we plan her wedding I sometimes wonder if the "meerkat" persona will make an appearance as she walks down the aisle... Yeah, okay, funny and cute, but not necessarily appropriate..!
Bet you're sorry you asked.... ;)

Hi! I am soooo sorry it took me so long to get back to you (read my mess.s). Pam is correct or PJ. My spiced popcorn is made with a light oil in the bottom of a wok (it works best with a small diam. base, so the corn doesn't sit in the oil) with "Spike" in it (or any spice mix you like). Then pop like usual, this gets all the spices on all the pieces and stays on better than adding it after it's popped, and no need for butter. Hope you enjoy it!! Thanks for the bio; I've been married almost 10 yrs., no kids except our lab Gwyneth (she was named when we got her), we play pool and games, and live in southern CA (Ventura co.) Have you got together w/Jana yet! Talk to ya later, Pammy

Aimee - thank you for your condolences for the loss of my Sandy. It is hard to lose a friend of 13 years, and I miss her a lot. The house seemed so empty - I actually rearranged my living room to make it seem smaller after she was gone. A rescue dog has been sent my way, he was badly abused and has serious problems (he's a nervous pee-er - I now decorate in blue plastic tarps covered with washable blankets) and is considered unadoptable, so - right - I took him, he was so needy. I've had him only 3 days, he is 8 or 9 months old, and my cats hate him. He is high energy, so we walk a lot, that seems to have calmed him down. So different from the calm life with my Sandy, my best friend and my family - but he is needy, so here he is, learning to live in a house, to not have to fight for his food (he's food and water anxious), and we go out a lot for him to relieve himself - I had forgotten how young dogs are!
And, yes, my lovely new patio was quite the skating rink in that ice storm!

Hi Aimee,

Thanks for the birthday wishes! It's been a lovely week for me, with out-of-town visitors, two cakes, homemade ice cream, and a party! LOL Now it's time to start walking to the park...

Aimee - thank you for your thoughtful wishes, and glad that we could share our little part of down under with you.

It's such a relief to be up and running, but now seem to be busier than ever. Just got to remember to keep on smiling

The phoenix sculpture was done by a local artist who welds old bits of metal together - I'm not that talented I'm afraid.

Take care

Hello Aimee, and thank you for your visit and birthday wishes! I indeed had a lovely day, made all the more special by the greetings from all over the world! Thank you for your comment on my pics!! It was indeed a milestone for both us and her!! Re time passing - when I was a little girl, my Mum used to say that each year went by faster than the last. My sister, friend and I used to laugh at her, but now I know exactly what she meant! April already!!! I only wish she was around to tell her so.
Anyway thanks again Bluey!!

Hi, Aimee! Yes, I try to get my sudoku fix in during naptime when I can. And, yes, what a fun (but tiring) job -- chasing after the cutest little fellow I know. Thomas is almost walking and so very busy and happy. I hope you are doing well. Are you planning to hit the beach soon?

Thank you for the 40th anniversary wishes, Aimee!
My advise for marital longevity? Time has flown by so fast it seems like only yesterday!
But I'd say besides loving each other... Don't worry about the speed bumps... they may slow you down, but if you have the basics (trust, respect, dedication, laughter, encourageing each other, being of one mind but with room for individuality) it won't stop you! Boiled down, agree on the big things and let the small things fall into place.
