Another taste of a new spring in my little corner of our world - Pittsburgh, PA USA, and a time for new beginnings.  I hope all of you are doing well.  I am concentrating my efforts on a year hopefully blessed with hope, wonder and much joy.

Now tell me a little bit about yourself.  Please feel free to drop me a message and I will try my best to respond.  Take care of yourself, and wherever you call home in this wonderful world that we all share I hope you have a wonderful MAEN!

Peace, love, health, and much happiness always,

Aimee Smile

Aimee .... we have had a very unreliable internet connection and I wondered how many birthdays I missed! Hope it was a good one.

I am not at all surprised to find that Gail has beaten me here on the same purpose! We often have similar impulses!!
It was good to see you drop by SA. Hope you make dropping in a regular part of your day.

Enjoyed looking through your gallery.
Ciao for now.

Hi, Aimee -- I've never heard of Bethany Beach; I hope it's wonderful! We'll be heading out to Montana for Thomas' first fly-fishing trip (though he'll have to wait on the actual fishing part until he's older).
Your thoughts on working mothers came just as I'd been thinking about the question, "can women really have it all?" No matter what we choose to do (work/home), there are sacrifices. I find it hard enough to take care of the house and Thomas and am envious of the organizational skills of working Moms. I've come to terms with the fact that I am not Super Mom and feel better for cutting myself some slack!

Hi Aimee, Thanks for dropping by with birthday wishes last week. Looked through your gallery .. great pictures of your family. I also have been wondering where Pgh was in Pennsylvania so I googled it and found it was short for Pittsburgh ... well, Duh!! on me.

Aimee - It's always nice to see your sweetness in all your posts.
I'm remembering what you said about us both sending kids to college. Well, my daughter has just the fall semester (classes available) and then she has her Associate's degree in Business. After that she says she's going to "put her degree to work" to make money towards her Bachelor's. Maybe she'll find a job that will pay for her to go to school?

Hi, Aimee! A very, VERY belated Welcome, as I don't think I have been here before. Also, it's so nice to have you visiting and posting on SA8! It was delightful to hear/read about your family! We tend to do a bit of bragging about our offspring and a bit of whining about whatever bothers us when we are there, and always find a supportive shoulder. Come back often!

Hi, Aimee -- just saw your gardening post... have you ever tried Delfino cilantro? It looks a little different, but tastes the same, grows better in summer heat, and doesn't require annoying chopping (or as much) -- I highly recommend! Hope all is well for you.

Hi Aimee, and great to have you stop by for a visit ... you're welcome anytime! Yes, that's a wisteria on our arbour, and this is its second year in bloom. Then it grows like a weed and my husband has to trim it back every three weeks or so. I only buy annuals for container gardening on our back deck; everything else is perennial--so much more value for the money! So this weekend, I'm hoping to have all my pots/windowboxes done, along with putting out our patio furniture and taking the hardtop off the Miata--I'm already pooped just thinking about it! P.S. I can never get lobelia to last longer than three weeks, no matter what I do, and I just love the true blue ones. Clearly, they don't love me. Otherwise, I manage to put together a few things that work. Enjoy your garden and keep me posted about your successes and any interesting plants you come across. Cheers!

Good morning, Aimee - I'm so glad you stopped by my page. It is nice to meet you. I enjoyed the pictures of your beautiful family!

To answer your questions - my travel has mostly been on my own. I grew up in a family that traveled (some of that was work related for my dad) and was lucky enough to marry a man who wanted to travel, so for the 41 years of our marriage, we've been on the go as much as time and finances allow! I've never been to Alaska - it is on my bucket list as well.

If you really want to see amazing icebergs, Antarctica is the place for you. We went on a Zodiac cruise through the "Iceberg Graveyard" and saw some amazing bergs. We also cruised through the Antarctic Sound where the icebergs are so huge that it seems impossible!

Feel free to stop by my page any time for a visit!

Cheers,
Linda

thanks for your visit - yes I am doing my best to foster the kids interests but it seems I spend rather a lot of time being the free taxi service at the moment! Roll on the time when they can take themselves to their activities!

Thank you for the birthday wishes, Aimee. My brother's name is Keiran Patrick as well!! My dad spelled his name the wrong way as it should be Kieran - "i" before "e" etc. but it doesn't matter which way you spell names does it? I love your family photos.

Hi Aimee, thank you ever so much for your kind thoughts. There is a huge improvement in the eye that was operated on, but it is still a bit angry at having been cut and objects whenever eye drops approach. It will settle down in time. I look forward to having the other eye 'done'.
May I wish you and your beautiful family all the very best of good fortune. Ian

Great to hear from you, Aimee! Nope, I can't figure it ... my hubby usually has excellent taste, but his aversion to the bleeding heart plant has me baffled. Could be he fell on top of one as a child? Have a great weekend!
