WELCOME TO THE BEAN PAD....

Before anyone asks I'm not related to Mr Bean although I must admit we saw him live in Melbourne many moons ago and it was one of the most memorable shows I've been too. 'Bean' is a childhood nickname that my elder sister bestowed apon me - rhymes with my second name 'Jean'. Truth often is a bit boring - should've let you ponder on such a strange handle  [name for those not up on Ozzie slang] for a bit longer.

Nothing else to say but I'm glad you dropped bye .....

I just went and had a look at the forum. Very cool, and I will copy and print out each announcement for reference. It is getting harder and harder to wait the closer it gets.

Bean, thank you for your concern for Reggie. He's a lovely friendly dog and we hope this experience won't affect him. We think we will drive him to the dog off-leash park in future!

I'm going to start asking my doggie-friends if they know of these other dogs so I can give the info to the council. I don't want these dogs to have a chance of hurting any other animals.

Hello Bean - just re-reading your comments on my photos and thank you for visiting my page and leaving comments.
Re: the pool, no bombies/diving/pool toys, etc. allowed, you were not allowed to take eats or drinks or anything in there other than your towel, although I had my camera with me. To top it off, you were not allowed in there after sunset. If you violated any of these you could be expelled from the resort.

Hi, Bean! I just checked in on SA8 to see if it was working (I can't get onto "easy" for some reason) and read that you've been under the weather. I am so sorry to hear that but glad that you seem to be recuperating. You take care of yourself, girl, h'hear????? ♥

G'day Bean... so much for the birthday wishes yesterday. I had a nice day but spent it mostly recovering from the weekend. God! I used to be able to take 2 nights out in a row in my stride. Now it takes me a week to get over it.
If you send your email address to my Inbox I can send you some more photos of your old hometown if you like. Nothing flash but just some scenes which may bring back memories. Cheers, Kate

Hi Bean,

I'm sorry to hear of your grandfather's plight. War does not just last for the years it is fought.

I sent that poem about my Grandad around to my family and cousins whose Grandfather he was.

Have just heard from my sister that my cousins son is in the airforce and marched in Melbourne wearing his Great grandfather's medals WW1, and his great uncle's Military Cross WW2.

My mother at 88, marched too. Apparently it was very moving as men and women applauded as she passed. I guess at 88 to march in the ANZAC march, one deserves some applause.

I really appreciated your comments about your grandfather and as I was busy most of yesterday it was this morning that I shed a tear and contemplated people like your grand father and mine; the price they paid and the determination with which they continued their lives.

I guess we owe it to them to live well too.

ciao

PS Well done for organising the sudoku reunion. Glad you had a wonderful time.

Hi Bean, "I bin out bush" and just back tonight and got your message.

Having an ancestor who fought certainly does personalise the Anzac Day. It doesn't hurt to ponder and grieve. Yeah. It makes you think... those poor lads sent to the slaughter. My own Grandad was probably more in his 30s when he went. On Anzac day I was out for tea and saw a lad with a chestful of medals. I asked him about them and he told me -one for Iraq, one for Afghanistan (saw mates killed) ... and he barely looked 18 He was probably a slight 23 year old (but he looked like a boy. Ciao... No late night tonight. I wonlt eve make changeover.
